Apparently RAW Therapy (an even more complex free alternative to Darktable) will function in plugin mode with the current version of Gimp but I have not tested that myself.0 -

I'll just throw in here that the AI-powered photo editing powers now available on posh Samsung (and other) phones is a thing of wonder - and probably a complete anathema to anyone who wants to have maximum control over their pixels.0

If you want free editors, Darktable for desktop and Snapseed for mobile are both great. I used them a lot. Recently I tried Luminar Neo and I was surprised. It is not free but the price is low and the AI tools save so much time.0

I like Pinta (anagram of Paint). It's free and cross-platform (Linux, Windows, Mac).
