A dog, lovely. I can’t have a dog as I live in a studio flat and also I like a clean and tidy house which I guess dog floof isn’t conducive to. Well done on getting the storage unit cleared - I sense there is a bit of a story there which I have missed as I dip in and out of people’s diaries. Sending you sympathies.Credit card 2091

I’m the same with trying to keep the house clean working full time with 2 cats, a dog and Mr SA making a mess. I try to keep on top of it by doing a bit every day it’s all you can do really.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Thanks @itsthelittlethings , more annoying than sad, my dad moved abroad 17 years ago so it's his stuff I've been sorting. If you do ever consider a dog I can confirm that retired greyhounds are surprisingly good in flats/apartments and shed very little.
@Sun_Addict I think it's another one of those things I need to get better habits with. I tend to do it all at once in a panic rather than a little bit often. I have been reading about the fly lady system but might need to make my own version.Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25

Glad to hear it’s annoying rather than sad! Can’t help feeling emptying the storage unit isn’t really your job though!Credit card 2091

It definitely wasn't my job, but as is the way with a lot of things in my family, I can resist it for so long but eventually it's less stress to just do it. It has been bugging me, and inconveniencing me, for 4 years.
I was so excited to do my debt figures today, I barely recognise myself compared to a year ago. I finally got to £1,000 in my emergency fund!! Only just, and I might have to dip into it before the next payday, but whatever, it's there and I'm counting it as a win. £500 is in the regular saver and £500 is in a holding pot. It's not enough to cover a full month of outgoings yet but it is enough to pay my mortgage, my loan, and feed me and the animals for a month.
I've already done a big food shop (the most I've spent in a supermarket for a long while) and I've filled the car with fuel. I've stocked up with enough dog food til the middle of the month. I'll just need to top that up and buy poultry food in 2 weeks time, but they money is in the pot for that ready. I would quite like to get my car serviced before Christmas if I can fit it in, as it's been just over a year.
I've started the Christmas shopping, but still a long way to go. I have my Christmas do on Thursday, but I shouldn't spend too much as food, accommodation, and three drinks are paid for. I can claim back the fuel and parking.
I'm pretty sure I will have achieved all the finance related goals I'd set myself for 2025.

Isn't it just @LzzyIsGod ! It's basically 29k, which definitely starts with a 2, and actually when you say it out loud starts with 20. So it's kind of 20k.Debts 04/01/25 01/12/25
