Thanks both! I am pleased I've been offered the job, and also happy that I don't have to take it if it doesn't suit me as I already have a job I love. That massive payrise would certainly help clear the debts tho.
I spent quite a bit of money last night on the family meal (well, a lot for me) because I paid for others who paid for me last time. Not too bad though, and it's nice to be able to do that on the odd occasion.
Today I've been catching up on the usual weekend chores. I did a little tip run too. I was doing my usual thing of trying to wait til I have a whole car full but feeling overwhelmed by that, so I had a word with myself and took a boot full of annoying stuff that had been hanging around for ages. No queues at the moment so might try and get another load down later this week.
I've ordered a little top up shop to be delivered tomorrow. I'm hoping it'll see me through til payday at the end of the month.
I've also found some floor tiles I like for my kitchen so can get those soon. I have about £200 in the house fund so will need to either use some emergency fund or wait to see if I get any money for Christmas.

I just worked out my minimum monthly expenses - what I would need to survive the month, pay my bills, and feed me and the animals. I hadn't done it for months because I wanted to save £1k emergency fund first without feeling like it wouldn't be enough so was pointless.
    £1,744.58
That does include a tank of fuel for the month, which might not be necessary but thought it would be useful to include.
That seems like a crazily high amount, especially as my mortgage is low, but it includes my minimum debt payments too.
At least now I know. New goal is to get the EF to £1,750

Job offer discussed today, they've agreed to my conditions so I've accepted (verbally at least). I am more than a little anxious, it's a big promotion and I know it's going to push me. I need to really embed some decent self care before I start it.
One of my conditions was about me having a way to step back if I needed to, although I hope not to need it.
I'm excited, but also wary. That's a very strange mix!
I think even if I do it for a year though it will make a massive difference to the debt payments. So a little extra work now can buy me freedom maybe a year earlier.

Well done on the job offer. I’m sure they wouldn’t offer it to you if you weren’t capable. It might not be as daunting as you think.

Thanks @Sun_Addict , I'm just very much a hands on, get things done, type of person rather than a meeting to arrange a meeting kind of person, so the thought of having to attend boring meetings instead of just doing the thing that needs doing fills me with dread!  :D

I’m the same yet I work somewhere where they spend more time discussing what we need to do than doing what we need to do 😖

Part of the agreement of me taking the job was that I could stay very much hands on, so fingers crossed they stick to their word and the pointless meetings are kept to a minimum.

I have spent another hour rectifying the coving. I think it's about ready to paint now (in the next few days), and I am celebrating my new job with a ruby ale.
