Everyone seems to say squash/courgettes grow like wild fire and they can't give them away, but I seem to struggle with them. I've grown yellow courgettes and they've looked so pretty in every dish I've cooked, especially with the contrasting greens and reds of other veg. I'll definitely try them again next year

For something really striking though look at my posh tomatoes @doingitanyway ! I only managed to get about 12 but still worth it.

Thanks @BeachSiren they didn't grow very well but they were worth it in the end. They're called Black Moon. Very Halloweeny! Sometimes the pretty ones don't taste great but these were lovely.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25

Love the tomatoes!
Hope you are on the mend soon. Definitely take some sick leave if not."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
I had panzanella for lunch! First time I've ever made it but will definitely do it again next year. It was a good way to use up some tomatoes and I put griddled scallop squash and courgette in it too.
I am feeling better-ish, but I'm not fully recovering on my weekends before I go back to work. I've got two important meetings tomorrow so I'll do those and see how I feel.
I've submitted my complaint to the ombudsman. I was still in two minds whether to or not but tonight was my self imposed deadline to think about it. It didn't take long and I don't have anything to lose. Writing it all out brought some of the stressy feelings back though.
The bank switches are annoying me because they keep not switching my direct debits properly. They show on both the bank app and the credit card app, but the money does not go from one to the another. This is the last switch I'll do for a while anyway, I need to get my credit score back up ready to try and get balance transfers in the summer, when I will hopefully be down to 2 credit cards.
I am about to update my CV. I had decided to concentrate on decluttering for the next couple of months, and see that as my second job, but I decide to have my dogs teeth removed I'm going to need to pay for it so might need to get a second job quickly. Updating the CV seems a sensible step, whether it's for before Christmas or after Christmas.
Doggo turned 10 today so she's had lots of treats and cuddles. I never thought I would have her this long. She came to me just before her third birthday, a very traumatised rescue who ate all sorts of things including curtain hooks and stanley knives. The first two years were beyond tough. We got through it though, and she's given me a kick up the butt to sort my mental health and wellbeing out because she's so sensitive to my stress levels. I can't tell her I just have to get through this bit and I'll be ok soon, she only cares about how things are today. Quite the blessing really. My stress causes her distress and then I feel I have to do something about it. She turned into a playful puppy when I finally left my last job.

Well done on doing the complaint.
Happy birthday to doggie! Sounds like you've given her a lovely new life."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1 -
I'm house sitting for the week so not much I can do at my house. There are some big things I should be doing but don't fancy without a fully functioning brain. Not many surveys available.
I am eating someone else's food mostly, and using their electric, so I can see that as MSE
I got up at 7:50 and fell back asleep in the chair somewhere around 11am. I was trying to work (reading reports), so I think I really do need to take a few days off to recover properly. I fell asleep on the sofa again at around 7pm.
I've booked a doctors appointment for blood tests on Wednesday, just redoing the ones I had done in May, only to find out they didn't test for the one thing I wanted testing.
During these mid month quiet times, when DDs have gone out and nothing is coming in, I need to find other ways to keep motivation going.Debts 04/01/25 01/11/25
