Today I got paid for the extra work I did ten days ago, so after dithering for a couple of hours I reduced one of my overdrafts from 500 to 250. Zero interest on that now, but I feel a bit sick. Why do I still panic about these things? I've been worrying that my maths is wrong, that some unexpected payment will come out of my account and give me charges, or I'll remember that I have some massive urgent bill I should have paid instead. Why am I doubting myself? Will these worries ease with time?
Anyway, thought I'd better post it here to keep me accountable and stop me from contacting the bank in a panic and increasing my overdraft slightly to feel more comfortable til payday.
Typical, stress that it's not moving fast enough, then stress that I've just moved it too fast!
I also donated some plates to the community centre and took 4 bags of rubbish to the tip. Quite a productive afternoon!

Well done on reducing the OD, they can be quite worrying because they become engrained in your spending habits as part of your main account. Nice mile stone for you to get that done and nearly under your 20k on credit card too!

    Credit Cards - £31050 - £23143

    Loans -  £38938

    Retail - £3752   - £2574

Don't the last 10 days of the month go slowly? To get my dopamine hit today I paid an extra 2.45 off a credit card and finally got around to changing my sim contract. I got it down to 8.99 a month! Bargain!

Well done on reducing the OD, that can feel like such a big step. I used to always worry I had done my maths wrong and would somehow end up with no money left towards end of month. I reduced my overdraft from £750 (why it was ever this much I dunno) down to £100, this should be sufficient for any slip ups for me. Although I have never gone over £100 in the 16 months I have had the OD so it seemed a easy win.

How do we keep motivation up in the last week of the month, 6 days from payday, in a dreary February? Asking for a friend.
I did a couple of extra hours work for my old/second job yesterday but the admin person is off until 3rd March so I won't be paid til at least the 13th March. So my motivation to do a few more hours today has gone.
I am working away Sunday night and Monday so a little bit worried about the extra spends so close to payday, but I should be ok. I have a full tank of fuel and I'll eat at home before I leave on Sunday, and take a cereal bar for breakfast Monday. I just might need to buy food Monday evening depending on what time I finish.
I think my short term plan needs to be to get this old/second job finished, hopefully next week, then my brain and time will be cleared a bit for stage 2 - getting rid of stuff in storage (my fathers, needs sorting and selling but it's such a massive job I find it overwhelming at times), and make a bit more of an effort at decluttering my own stuff. I'd like to make a big dent in that through March.
Stage 3 is having much clearer house/mind/calendar and then finding ways to earn more money, probably a more regular second job that pays more than the old/second job. The old/second job is/was a full time job that I left in October that asked me to stay on and finish a project up for them, a few hours here and there. It should have been done by Christmas, but here we are in February and it's not finished. I agreed more as a favour than anything, grateful for the extra cash obviously, but they pay me about a quarter of what they charge for my time. Lessons learned.
Tomorrow someone is coming to pick up a few things I'm giving away for free, so that's a little bit of decluttering done.
Just got to keep on plodding on I guess.

I didn't want to do my weekly calculations, because I'm still feeling a bit flat. I'm glad I did though, from 25th Jan to today I've paid £951.01 off!! I'll stop moaning now then, just for a bit.
I think this whole month has been about finding different ways to keep myself motivated when it all seems so huge and overwhelming.

I think everyone gets those moments @rachmac3 - you know I yo-yo a lot too xx. Sometimes it all seems such a blooming slog BUT we are and we will get there.  The days when it feels hardest but we still stick with the plan are the days which count the most.

So don't take out another credit card and buy a round the world flight to sunny and exciting places? Is that what you're saying @LzzyIsGod
I am down to my last few pounds now, pleased that I will last until Friday. I had some work done to the house today, just a small patch in my office plastered, which I was meant to get done last April. The money came out of the house pot, so all good. I'm hoping if my office is nice and comfortable I will want to spend more time in it working and earning money.
