Ah Rachmac I missed your birthday!! Happy belated birthday xx
I like the meals idea - I usually write the plan on a small blackboard but I'd happily take suggestions!2 -
Thank you!
I get blind to things very quickly, so I'm hoping that once I've stopped noticing green writing I can change to a pink pen 😄

Last payment has come in from my old/second job, just £17 for mileage (from March), but it means I could pay an extra £20 off a credit card. I do like being able to pay off extra during the month, that's one of the good things about second jobs that I miss. It gets a bit boring in the second half of the month otherwise, when all the DDs have gone out.

I pulled a mystery bag out of the freezer for tea, and it turned out to be lamb stew with pearl barley - winning!
I've got a few pounds left in my purse so I'm going to nip to the shop for a sweet treat.
I've also been thinking about my fluctuating wages and how to manage that in the best way. I'm very looking forward to payday tomorrow and the jiggling. Each month I'm getting more information about my spending and I'm getting more certain about my payments.
I have been invited on a holiday in September so that's an even better reason to squeeze everything I can out of my wages over the next few months.Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

Guess who now has £500 emergency fund? That'll be me then!
I've also sent £221 from my mileage payment to a friend in the hope I can afford that holiday in September. Both of those (and my nephews birthday present) will leave things quite tight this month but we'll see how we get on.
I've had a quick look at my figures but annoyingly can't do a proper update until Monday. My debt currently starts with a 3 and a 2! I'm not sure why that feels so much better than 33, but it does.Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

The change in numbers really does mentally help! Well mainly when going down debt wise but up EF wise 😂
But good work matey!2 -

Waiting til the 2nd to update my signature was painful, but worth it!
I am a little worried about getting through this month, it will be very tight, especially as I now have 2 events I have to go to that I don't particularly want to, and will be spendy.
Only having one job is also anxiety provoking as I've relied on the extra few pounds through the month to give me a bit of a safety net. As I keep telling myself though I have plenty of things in the house that should be sold, so if I'm that worried I can get my s*it together and do that! Literally.
I've been at this for about six months now, I started the process around November, and I think taking the slow and steady approach is the bit I find most difficult. I know it's best, I know it's working, but sometimes I just want to go find three more jobs, sign up to some dodgy medical research, and do god knows whatever else to get this sorted quickly. I won't, of course, I will keep on plodding on and making little tweaks here and there as necessary. Boring!Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

Ooooo just looked at those figures again and thought I'd make an extra little note to future me (probably the one who is about to sign up to 27 jobs and advertise the garden as a camping spot) that I have paid off £3664, which is about 10% of my starting debt, I have £500 in an emergency fund (I can't remember the last time I had anything that could be considered savings), and I have a S&S ISA (I put a pound in but it still counts). I have also done this whilst getting physically and mentally healthier, reducing my workload for a better balance, and having an amazing mini holiday! So future Rachel, stop panicking and keep at it.
