I don't know about called away, but I waited about 2.5 hours once when the dentist I was seeing for the first time had a patient with a 'difficult extraction' in the chair. The receptionist eventually called in another dentist from their afternoon off and I was in with her for about 45 minutes as it was a first appointment, and the other patient was still in the chair when I left....

Ahhh. I assumed called away like a GP on call might be, it didn't occur to me that it was an emergency in the same building. But that makes sense. And explains a lot of the toing and froing that was going on upstairs. Thank you.
Kevin is now safely on the drive. Coffee is by my side. Parrots may be required.
And I cured the leaking overflow of the outside toilet....not even a random drip now. Call me Mario 😊

Bad enough having to go to the dentist without all of that faff Round. Glad you did actually get to see someone before you left.Wren had a very disturbed early morning and has only just calmed down. She's been going nearly mad, nicking things to chew (it was a mistake putting my passport on the floor ...) and I've had to bribe her with all kinds of treat balls and extra Kongs for hours, so eventually I put her Thundershirt on and it took a while but she's now calmed down. The cats are behaving as if they've got a bat up their nightdresses so I imagine it was all about the weather. Lightening, gales, hail and I haven't heard it but I think Wren did - thunder. So, all of that resulted in me getting up at 6.00am and getting stuck into my Urgent In Tray which I've now bottomed, updated my spreadsheets and am finalising the Declutter 2025 Six Thinking Hat plan.I had hoped to deliver the four CS boxes in the car, but as the weather is beyond vile I'm not venturing out so tomorrow looks busy when I will probably have to as I have a Reserved book at the Library and that has to be picked up within 10 days or it'll be reserved for the next person on the list and I'll lose the opportunity to read it.I cleared three shelves in the upper part of the dresser in my RoD and they've now been restocked with stuff I wanted to get out of the corner cupboard, which will be the sewing cupboard in due course. I can't wait to get the sewing stuff down from the attic but I need to clear the decks a bit more before introducing more gibble into this room.I've ditched three things today but I really have come to the end of the first 2025 round of 'Thing Declutter' a lot earlier than I thought I would. The final total is 1384. I thought I'd get to 2,500 each month for three months, but it turns out I've been decluttering more than I thought over the past couple of years very gradually. The house still felt far too full though so I'm glad I've blitzed it this January. I hope never to have to do that much in one go again. For the rest of the month the decluttering is going to be electronic - emails, Bookmarks, and computer files. I decluttered the photos on my computers a couple of years ago because there were thousands and that included far too many duplicates, and I realised I never looked at them anyway. I've never missed any of them, either.Better is good enough.9

HB, fwiw we have had thunder, lightening, hail, torrential rain, sunshine and gale force winds. Wren might have been able to hear our thunder. It is currently light again, but who knows for how long.Kaz, thanks for that, much appreciated. I do keep telling myself that it has only been a month, was not necessarily in the plan and it will take time to adjust. Sometimes I just don’t seem to listen to myself! We are the proud owners of a new front door. I swear it is already warmer, but that might be wishful thinking. I decided to start on the utility cupboard of doom. Oh my word. It is a start but certainly not finished. 5 bottles of washing up liquid should do me for a time though. Some bits have been flung, empty bottles to the recycling, a couple of new prettily wrapped candles to the cs bag. It’s a start. I also found some floor wipes from who knows where or when, as not something I would normally buy. They were still damp, so the hall and downstairs toilet floors are now clean(er). On the down side, I have just ripped put 3 recipes from a magazine which might be a backward step in my never ending mission to reduce the number of recipes / cookery books that I have.8

Finished off a fairly productive day with clearing the ironing basket.I do need to get a proper hold on this cleaning malarkey as in a couple of weeks time I'll be starting my volunteering job again. Initially 2 hours on a Monday then at the start of April, adding in 3 hours on a Tuesday. I don't know why it's so hard to get my cleaning routine, or desire to clean, sorted at home, when the Monday volunteer job which I enjoy doing is helping in the pot wash at a National Trust cafe.......Make £2025 in 2025

Hi all
Shhh don't tell anyone because we are keeping it quiet but DH has applied for a new job. It's a stretch because he doesn't have all the right experience but it's something he would love to do. The closing date isnt for 2 weeks so now we have to wait. This could mean that he will be at work full time during the main tourist season, which means that he is not going to be around to do housework cooking and cleaning so we are going to need to be much more organised. And I don't want it all to fall on my shoulders. Well plenty of time to think about that.
Full day at the paid stuff so not much flying, but DH is home tomorrow. I will go and pack my lunch for tomorrow in a bit.

Evening all. Fingers crossed for your DH YSL. HB, you have done an amazing job of decluttering this month.
Wordle in three, strands with no hints, connections with no lives lost.
It was my last regular weekend of looking after grandchildren today. Obviously there will be odd bits of babysitting but after more than three years, it will now be a year until I'm required to care for DGD2 and DGS ( who's due soon).
My back is finally beginning to ease so as well as flying I intend to get back to my exercise class tomorrow.
Just the dailies done here today. Oh, and dusting behind the bed when DH pulled it out and his dusting wasn't to standard. It was yucky behind there.
Spend less now, work less later.8 -
