Morning all,
Bitterly cold and very windy outside. It seems like a read-a-book kind of day, but I am going to Make An Effort first. Well, a small effort.
Clean dry washing folded and in the airing cupboard. Just a couple of bits to the ironing pile. Dw is running. Meals have been planned after a fridge audit. A couple of new to me recipes identified from books, as part of my use them or cs them mission. I do have over 100, so this challenge to self is long overdue. I am going to quickly run the vacuum cleaner around downstairs. Soup for lunch will be appropriate, methinks. Then I might sneak in a bit more dressmaking, having successfully put both sleeves in yesterday afternoon.Off to sneak a coffee in from Round’s kettle, then I’ll crack on.8 -

Hope you aren't feeling stiff and bruised this morning kaz. xx
eltee - now you're going to put me to shame. I'm still at the 'admire empty cavern' stage and have been for...golly...a year? Two years? Next step for me is to sort the bedding. But before I can do that I need to decide whether I'm going to have a single or a double bed in the guest room, which was DS's room and he took all the bedroom furniture including the bed when he moved out. 🤔 Was that three years ago? Four? Maybe even five. There's a reason I'm called Roundtuit 🙃 Whistles nonchalantly 😙...."I started out with nothing
And still got most of it left"

Afternoon, A relaxed start to the day for me as I stayed in the city last night as was at Strictly Live Tour. So far today I’ve had breakfast and checked out off hotel, currently travelling back home.
My list for today after I get home:
Collect part of the bed base that blew across the field during the storm.
Check to see if there is any more storm damage, we did have a quick check yesterday before we left for the city.
Collect the dog from the kennels
Do uni prep for tomorrow
Put ornaments etc back in the living room unit (it was moved for the new carpet getting fitted)
Deal with Mr T delivery
Organise bags, clothes etc for tomorrow
I think that is everything for today. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.

Christmas cards recycled.
Soup (out of a tin) for lunch with home made croutons (a slice of toast torn up).
Then a change of plan. I've been to town, dropping off window cleaner's money on the way, picked up my prescription and done a Mr Al. shop, which has all been put away.
Tomorrow I will go to the dentist's, drop off a bag of books at the cs, and then have a trundle round Boyes. I need new underwear. Holey offerings can then be binned.
Glad to be of use eltee 😊. It was HB who inspired me many moons ago...along with the wisdom of iona, and the continuing support of all Flylady friends along the way. And they are my friends. Would never have survived lockdowns without their virtual company!
Not forgetting the wonderful Fayolle who leads me astray continually. Read a book day did you say? Don't mind if I do. While I, of course, am always a good influence on everyone 😇 🤣🤣🤣 Butter wouldn't melt...

Ah Round of course you are a good influence on all of us x
Cross and frustrated here. Stuffed into the corner of our patio are some ladders, a lawnmower (broken?), a wooden pallet, an old bird table, some buckets, some of those big builders bags and some other random junk. At the side of the shed are more builders bags, another pallet, lots of plant pots and plant trays, and, well, I don't know what else.
All of this I can see from the windows. All of it belongs to DH (who is not currently working full time so does have spare time). Both garden sheds are stuffed full and very untidy. DH has plans to tidy and sort it all but somehow it doesn't happen.
Yesterday I nagged and so today we went to the recycling centre with a car full of plant pots, some cardboard and a old pressure washer, but this has made no noticeable difference. It's OK though, because DH will sort the rest.
What do I do? I think that when I say to DH that I am really fed up with the garden being a junk yard he things I am being a bit ridiculous. He just doesn't seem to see it.
Rant over. Getting my book. I have given the bathroom a good clean and hoovered through, sorted some clean washing and done some general tidying.7 -
YL I feel your pain, I too have / had that, I just wait until OH is away for a few days, and get the numerous tip runs done, I do make sure I don't throw out anything that is 'his' and 'wanted' 90% of the time I don't think he knows what is there anyway, the rest of it gets tidied in to plastic storage boxes, lidded, and stacked. The last two boxes I did still haven't been touched and that was three years ago or so. But it is there for when it is 'wanted'.This time he is away, I've moved the furniture around the rooms, planted the orchard, other wise there would be a debate on what goes where etc, and we will be in the next winter, and still nothing is done.I've left to do the patio glass door with the next magnetic chip cat flap, but I have a man coming tomorrow to measure up and quote, and plant the goosebury bushes.
