Fab progress on the Ottoman of Doom Eltee. Well done for tackling it.Enjoy strictly MMM. You've so earned a night off.Up much earlier than normal for a Saturday because we're hosting Burn's Night tonight. Everything's prepped, Belovéd did a quick zoom around with the bagless thingy and a duster etc, and laid the table. He's also loaded all four boxes of gibble into the car for me to take to the CSs on Monday when I run a lot of errands. Putting things away is already much, much easier which is wonderful. After that, a week of reorganising all the empty cupboards and shelves so that I can find things when I want them. Really looking forward to that, and I absolutely know that's going to yield a lot more stuff for the tip, CSs and Scrapstore. Then I'm getting stuck back into the attic because that needs straightening out although most of the stuff that's going from up there has gone now. Belovéd has also agreed we don't need to keep the rolled up carpet offcuts and lino, so more Tip stuff (woo hoo!) which will clear a bay completely and then we can deal with the excesses of suitcases and that'll free up a lot more space. I'm finding all of this really free-ing but very tiring physically but I can't wait to get my sewing stuff down at last. Now showered and resting before the onslaught tonight.

Arm of glasses sorted, but it is not the best, but the best she could do, my glasses are just over 2 years old, there was no change to my eyes at last test, so no need to get new glasses, how ever the assistant did keep looking at me in an odd way, in the end I had to ask if everything was ok, she said my forehead was bleeding, and ushered me to a mirror, chair and offer a tissue, yes it was bleeding. A discussion took place over the cost of new frames / glass. Left saying I would save up my pension and come back in due course, she offered to walk me to my car,. Kind but not needed.Well done to all flyers and the amount of clearing out you are doing, great guns, keep going. shelves, cupboards, bathrooms, ottermans. and so on.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Ouch, Kaz! Glad the assistant was caring. Do seek professional advice if you develop a bad headache x
Enjoy your Burns Night celebrations, HB and MMM xx
My desk now has even more papers cluttering it up because I have been printing out census returns. I made contact today with someone in Canada who seems to be related through one of my gt-gt-gt-grandfathers. The photos have taken a back seat this weekend - but I will return to them soon, as (apart from the Canadian link) I have hit another dead end with the ancestors.
I'm still coughing, but less frequently. This afternoon DH and I took Rosie for a shortish walk on the big NT hill to the west of us (the one with the rock houses), to make the most of the sunshine. I walked off about 40 calories and then we went for a cuppa and cake in the farm shop/café. It's a good thing I never make New Year's resolutions

Hope no lasting effects Kaz.
Not a good night, kept thinking about 2 files and a bag of photos I realised had been mislaid. Messaged DB in the morning and sounds as if he hadn't realised I wanted the files so recycled them with some others, but didn't know about the photos so I may find them somewhere in what we've brought home - or the bag may have got mixed up with some going to the tip. Pretty upset about that but there's nothing I can do.
- visited Mum with the newly-made album from photos around the house; she seemed to like it but didn't feel too well so I left her in the care of 2 staff.
- Spent the rest of the morning packing the car and leaving sticky notes on any items remaining so DB will know what they are and what to do with them. Actually not much left. Grand total of 10 boxes to auction; 3 boxes books to 0xfam bookshop; 2 full car trips to recycling/tip, wheelie bin full and 3 more full bags waiting to be put in when it's empty; 3 cases and a couple of boxes to charity shop; plants/sewing stuff/ornaments given to friends and family; 4 large boxes of photo albums, prints and slides still to be sorted. Mr N and I finally left at about 3pm so if anyone was on the M3/M25 and saw a convoy of a full Fiat Panda and equally full little Hyundai, that was us! Did stop at a service station to use my free C0sta drink and 30% off food; very MSE.
We've partly unloaded both cars but will finish after a sleep and in daylight. Realised I forgot eggs and a tin of beans from the food cupboard. Also forgot (but wouldn't have had room for) a large painting; plus no room for one more box of photos and books as well as some garden stuff. Hopefully DB will bring it at least as far as his house which is only 2hrs drive from me.
Definitely want lots of sleep tonight.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -

Morning all xx
Hope you aren't feeling stiff and bruised this morning kaz. xx
eltee - now you're going to put me to shame. I'm still at the 'admire empty cavern' stage and have been for...golly...a year? Two years? Next step for me is to sort the bedding. But before I can do that I need to decide whether I'm going to have a single or a double bed in the guest room, which was DS's room and he took all the bedroom furniture including the bed when he moved out. 🤔 Was that three years ago? Four? Maybe even five. There's a reason I'm called Roundtuit 🙃 Whistles nonchalantly 😙....
Had a lovely meal last night at the local village pub - a belated birthday treat for DS with DDil. (That really highlighted how much prices have gone up over the last year!!!)
Woken up to a frosty morning. I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in three, completed Connections with two lives lost, and supped my first brew.
Pondering. I need to pick up my prescription and visit Mr Al. Might as well do that tomorrow when I have to drive into town for my dentist's appointment. Which makes today a blank canvas. Marvellous

morning all
Done wordle in 4, connections with no lives lost and. proud of strands with 0 hints, but it took a while.
DD had tea at her bf’s, his mum came up (DD doesn’t know from where) and cooked lamb curry and roti so i had food envy. He’s coming here for his tea (fish pie) and to meet DS and dil. DD hasn’t mentioned him to anybody other than me so it’ll be interesting.
I’m going to sort some bedding … i have more duvet cover sets than i need so CS it is…. you’ve inspired me.

Having a coffee. Then I'll sort out the Christmas card recycling. I always keep the last one received from Pops and from DS. The rest can be recycled, after checking for glitter of course.
I've binned a manky pair of rubber gloves. And I've wobbled the ball valve in the outside toilet to try and stop the overflow from leaking. It had gone from a stream of water to a random drop the last time I checked. Hopefully the random drop has stopped now. Although I can live with a random drop. Outdoors. Obvs not if it was indoors.
