My two are the same.  I find it very frustrating and get the guilt as well.  I've given up fighting it though and just try and balance it out with decent meals where I can.

I think the influence of other children begins to play a part, so something along the lines of hummus with veg sticks and crisps to dip in it, so they don't feel they are missing out on the salty stuff, but eating more healthy dippers with it. Maybe start them off this week with a meze lunch - trying all the bits and different dips, before back to school. [Who knew apples were so good dipped in hummus?!]

In terms of organic. I do buy organic milk but not so, the relatively small amounts of butter, cream or yogurt. I don't want to consume the pre-emptive antibiotics given to some cattle herds as I have precious few left that I am not allergic to. I have to be careful about moulds and so blue cheese and rinded French style cheeses are very much the exceptional treat or they cause the skin in my mouth to blister (like extreme ulcers). I'm allergic to penicillin and that is the basis of the rind cultures on Brie, Camembert, etc. A little, I can manage. A lot, not so!

I grow a lot of my own veg and many fruits so I know what is in the soil and I don't use insect or herbicides anywhere near anything we are going to eat. I can't say we are wholly organic as we do buy compost or soil improver that is not certified but it's all a bit of a compromise. If it is supermarket, usually not organic, but it is stuff I will be cooking. The raw stuff, comes out of the garden all summer. So the limited salad stuff I buy I tolerate not being organic (ditto meat). Eggs? it depends where I get them. Local preferably

Busy but very productive day today. I read for an hour this morning - half way through 'Level Up' by Rob Dial, and it's really interesting, sipped my coffee and enjoyed the quiet. Then nipped to pick up our Click and Collect and nipped next door to A1di for toilet rolls and tuna as these are much cheaper from there. I had ordered fruit and veg and have washed it and popped it at eye level for DS...so far he's eating a few grapes, a strawberry and a carrot without me asking (he still asks me every time he wants to eat anything or do anything (I guess that's from having to ask at school) but I have told him that if it is veg or fruit then he doesn't have to ask, or if he'd prefer I can make him up a snack box - he said he'd like that for tomorrow :)

Tonight was plain chicken wraps and homemade chips for DS and his friend (their choice), and DH and I had chicken fajitas.

Today I have also cleared out a whole 4 drawer cupboard and was able to move what was left after the declutter into another 4 drawer cupboard that I already have, with still room to spare. I also sorted through some paperwork, and also attended two meetings on behalf of my family member, hopefully all should now be resolved with that particular request. I've even had time for a bath (feeling a bit achy today so not sure if I'm coming down with something).

I have a bit more paperwork to sort through but I have just organised my book loans on my reading apps so I have plenty to be listening to whilst I sort for another 60 minutes or so.

Tomorrow I have a large number of recipes and recipe books to sort through (they are old and take up so much space that I am thinking of dissecting the books and creating a lever arch file (which I already have) with a contents page so that when I do my plan at the weekends, I can look through and decide what to have.  Has anyone else done this? I was going to photograph the pages and give the books to the charity shop, then realise that this would be an infringement even though I bought the books...

Oh and I should have mentioned that I also need to update my CV this week as my current work contract is coming to an end, there are quite a few roles being advertised currently internally so I need to be ready to apply in case one of interest pops up. That can be tomorrow's job :)

Ok, so I went to Sp0rts D1rect this afternoon and explained the situation. The gentleman went to speak to a manager, and within a couple of minutes confirmed that I could have a full refund!! I have bought other trainers to replace them so no better off financially but my heel and foot is already thanking me

Incredibly grateful for great customer service and proud of myself for saying something 😀

Oh well done. I am dreadful at things like that I always over egg it and get cross, if I can steel myself to do it!
