That’s great, thank you @Suffolk_lass. I’ve seen you mention TT before and it’s always interested me, so much so that all annual expenditure I am saving for has been significantly rounded up, in case of inflation, but i’m hoping my forecast is too high and I will have quite a bit of money left to put towards our mortgage overpayment. For example, I’ve said £200 for pet insurance this year but it should be more in the region of £100 :)

With regards to the car payment every bit of extra cash, I.e. lotto winnings or refund I’ve been putting into the pit, as well as a monthly amount so in a way that’s also been a bit of TT but in a slightly different way?

Last night I checked my credit union account to see how much money is in there (going to use some of it for the car payment in October) and found that I have only been attracting 1.1% on dividends every year and nothing this year. My husband has been getting far more than that in his work CU.

I’m wondering if to move the money out and into my regular savings account as that’s attracting at least some interest… I’ll think on that later but for now, work is manic and my lunch has been eaten so back to it.

Have a great day all x

Oh yes, it's sweating the small stuff that makes such a huge difference!

Re moving your savings, I keep being offered a 3.5% Coop bonus saver whenever I log into that bank account, but Martin's email has better options

Sounds like you’re really in the zone at the moment. It’s a great place to be 🙂

Thank you all, yes in a very good place and long may it continue.

Rest day today but that is never truly accurate in this house… budget done, weekly planning done, just meal plan, shopping and travel insurance to sort, then it’s a movie afternoon with the little one.

On the travel insurance note…I’m struggling to obtain insurance as DH is currently awaiting a referral for a leg issue (muscular it is believed). I also have a chronic medical condition that I used to be able to be covered for but it happens not to be the case this time. Is anyone able to recommend an insurer who specialises in chronic conditions (long term deterioration will cause organ failure, no doubt )?

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday! 😀

I’m assuming you’ve gone via the comparison sites for the insurance. We’ve used Staysure, All Clear and Good to Go in the past but currently with Admiral.

Sometimes they look like they won't cover certain conditions if you try to get an online quote because sites are mainly set up for things being straightforward and give limited options. If you can speak to an actual person you should have more luck. Fingers crossed for you!

Thank you both. We’re currently with Admiral too but going direct also decline (they seem to have added to the questions since we first took it out in 2022). I haven’t changed at all but DH has the referral and that seems to have caused the issue (we haven’t travelled since he was referred so haven’t update the insurance given that it’s due to renewal.  His appt is in 2 weeks, just after the renewal is due but we do have a holiday booked so need to remain covered.

ill have a look at the sites you’ve recommended and also call Admiral direct
