Definitely good to rest, and listen to your body. I learned that the hard way.

Great minds @dawnybabes! I know I don't need to freeze it but that's where I put things like freshly grated parmesan, homemade panko breadcrumbs, and little squares of pate (for the dog to take his supposedly tasty flea and tick chewy thing in).dawnybabes said:I keep a big tub of crumble mix in the fridge to quickly make a pudding when I’ve the oven on.
On the subject of seasonal tiredness (in which I am a great believer!) Mr Sl remarked only yesterday that he is much sleepier, much earlier, both the last few autumnal days, and since his illness. So that justifies all the magnesium (potassium, zinc) supplement I am stuffing into him, right?!Save £12k in 2026 #2 I have banked £9004.48 so far, against a £10k target The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

Thanks @rachmac3, I'm not very good at adding fun stuff other than when I've booked an holiday, I need to find what sparks my joy as I have lost my way a bit this last year.
@dawnbabes and @suffolk_lass - this is exactly how I want to operate but I find I struggle to think ahead like that (other than meal planning and I'm not a great cook but I am learning, which is crazy at my age...). @Suffolk_lass, sounds like the supplements are a good call - especially as the colder months are coming, I hope Mr SL is ok.
I'm not sure if anyone else is having issues this morning but the site is very glitchy today so I'm hoping that the tags have worked properlyDebt Free: 6th November 2025!! 🥳

Happy Friday all!
Feeling a little brighter this morning, I skipped exercise but opted to journal and do some mindfulness as yesterday was full on and I needed to reflect on a couple of frustrations (work).
I have done a very quick walk round this morning with the black bag and moved a couple of things to the donations box, I plan to do a little more this afternoon once I have finished work.
Spoke to the garage as the car needs a new part, they have confirmed they will order it and also confirmed that it is covered by the warranty so worth the time to discuss with them. Hopefully get it fixed in the next couple of weeks (more cosmetic than anything but as we are keeping the car we want to ensure that it is in tip top shape for when we do eventually trade it in).
I hope everyone has a great day

Yesterday was a very quiet day as I didn't feel too good, still not feeling great (chronic conditions, eh?)... but I managed a lie in this morning, I've also pottered and slowly but surely managed to;
* Clean and declutter 2 kitchen drawers and 2 kitchen cupboards (utensils, tupperware, baking dishes and trays, and multiple drinks bottles that we have accumulated) - 2 bin bags worth in total now
* Reset and deep clean the kitchen
* Hoover the floor (no point mopping as DH is doing some home improvements atm and everything will be getting dusty this week)
* Budget updated, surprisingly more money left for this time of the month so optimistic that we will have additional monies left for the car payment fund.
This afternoon I'm going to have a few hours reading my book and then it's home made burgers for tea (going to use the rest of the mince for meatballs this week). I've also the baking apples and some very ripe bananas to use so going to make a banana loaf and some apple crumble for this week.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend,

Oooo... I should also have mentioned that I've managed 2 lots of washing, one lot is drying in the dryer (which I haven't used for months but it is raining today) and I'll wash my towels a day early as we have free electricity this afternoon courtesy of 0ct0pus Energy

The free cephalopod energy let me do a load of washing, some ironing, and have the oven, food processor, oven again and tumble dryer on - two hours made it eminently more effective. And I remembered to turn the solar and battery off and then on again too!
There is a lot of covid around here, so when you said you were feeling rough, that was my immediate thought. Which reminds me, I need to get some LFTs in date. Have a good week!Save £12k in 2026 #2 I have banked £9004.48 so far, against a £10k target The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

Oh no @Suffolk_lass, that's not good - I hope you and Mr SL are ok?

So... I can't remember if I logged this and can't see that I have so... I've cleared one full email address that I no longer use, I've also unsubscribed from the couple of senders I was receiving emails from. I'm going to monitor for a few months and if I don't receive anything I'll close the account. I also reviewed my main email account, deleted lots of emails and sorted out the folders so everything is in the right place and easily accessible, if needed.
