Afternoon - it's been a while....  My son has been contacted by DCB legal several times over the phone since my last post, with them offering to reduce the sum claimed.  He has stated each time that he is willing to go to court.  Today (4th August) he received this letter in the post.  Looks like it's time to get all defence information together.  As this has to be given to DCB legal also is it worth submitting this information as late as possible?

    Many thanks

This doesn't look at all like an error to me!

This is a deliberate order by a judge who knows most parking cases will be discontinued before WS stage.

That's why it says the hearing will be decided later: 'First Available Date' after x October.

Clever judge. No hearing dates wasted.

Agreed, I hope it's a trend and we see more similar cases where dates are only given out where necessary,  at the appropriate time

This came through by email this morning.  Should my son double check anything with the court or is this final?

That's as good as it gets, no need to check anything.

Thank you @Joeyc1979 for the copy of your NoD. I can now get this counted in the DCBL Legal thread of shame. 👍
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That's great to hear. Thank you to everyone who helped me with this.  It is so daunting and several times my son has wanted to pay just to get rid of the stress of dealing with it but on principal I wouldn't let him.  Without the help and guidance from this forum however I may have let him pay.

Yay, as expected but what a relief for him.

    Well done.

ookmark this thread below and do Public Consultation if you haven't done it yet. See this thread: -

We need every poster to come back & complete this vital Consultation before the deadline! Just 2 weeks left but please don't rush it. You can do some then save it and come back to it as you have time.

We understand that you may need some pointers. It looks laborious, we get that.

I'm taking a closer look this week and we'll walk you through it. I should have all the first post 'how to respond to each question' advice ready by the end of this week.

I've already typed the 'guidance' up to Question 9 inclusive & more tips will follow.

There are vital points to safeguard motorists interests to make, that many people won't think of/need focus. There won't be a template - the survey is for you to reply in your words - but we'll help everyone with what to focus on.
