Minimal flying today for me sadly. The tickly cough that started yesterday morning has turned into either Covid (my suspicion as it feels similar to when I had it before - have no tests to check) or flu, as I have a fever of over 39C this morning - was lower last night, so is obviously ramping up, and I've had to cancel my work booking for tomorrow as well as the doctor's appointment today for my back problem. Just about managed to drive DS2 into school and have come home, phoned work to let them know about tomorrow, and have just made my chia pudding - need to put something in my stomach to compensate for the paracetamols, though my appetite has pretty much disappeared. Hopefully DH will be home in time to do this afternoon's school run.Hugs for all who want or need them.xEnjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20179

Get well soon Sexymouse - I've only had Covid once and I honestly thought I might die...
First day back at The Tea Rooms today and I'm looking forward to that - been closed all over Christmas and New Year as the owner went on a Mediterranean cruise for three weeks, lucky thing! Need to pop and get this week's supply of raw dog food first, but they don't open until 10am, so I'm S&Sing the kitchen until it's time to leave.
I have already put one wash in and a load in the bumble too, so haven't been totally lazy...8 -

morning
If it is covid, SM, I hope it’s not to severe.
Grouted tiles yesterday. I’m very, very pleased with how they look. I have arranged to give the fix’n’grout to someone who’s tiling a whole bathroom, so I know it won’t go to waste. It would only go off if I kept it.
Today I have to start looking at local care homes. Mum has ‘run away’ at least twice now, a new response to when she’s agitated by not understanding what she is doing. We’ve told dad to stop keeping the keys in the door and to lock the door but he is struggling to cope, though he has stated he doesn’t want her to go into a home. I doubt she’ll be at home by Christmas.
3 x WM to go on the line.

Morning all.
Big (((hugs))) to Valli and Narc0, well done to everyone on the Flying and decluttering (too many to list individually, but I will give Dizzy an honourable mention), and GWS sexymouse xxx
I have got Wordle in four, Strands with no hints apart from a list of the "Top 50 xxxxxxxxx" (I'm not a bar-type person), and Connections with no lives lost - go me! I've slept quite well, my cough is on the way out, I am not in any great amount of pain, and somehow everything feels better this morning
I've caught up with this thread and Mrs_SD's Decluttering (lots of Flyladies over there too), S&S'd the bathroom and kitchen, made my bed, and once I've got another coffee I plan to sort photos for about 1.5 hours. Then we're going to take Rosie up to the Forest and get a bowl of soup or something in their café.
Have a good day, whatever you're doing xxx

Feel better soon wishes being sent your way @sexymouse, what ever it may be I hope it goes quickly.. hydrate and rest as much as is needed. When I was poorly as a child my great-nana used to say “the world can wait, you must heal well or you will fall ill again”.
I think of this often now, as I have a chronic health condition, feel I should have listened to her more.. she would often mumble about how the world had got itself in such a hurry, she passed about 14 years ago now just before her 102nd birthday! I can only imagine what she’d have to say about the world now! 🤣
So far today..
I’ve managed to have a quick s/s in bathroom and kitchen
Made breakfast
Taken lots of photos of clothes for Vinty..
Washing x 1 & put on airer, other clothes packed away.
Arranged hospital appointments for OH and Ma..
Feeling cold.. So going to have a cuppa before attempting to upload on Vinty."There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇8 -
More GWS wishes for you, Sexymouse. And additional hugs for Narc0 and Valli.
It’s been a leisurely but fairly productive morning. Amongst other things, I have:
-cleaned the bathroom
-given both fridges a thorough turn out and tidy. The only food waste was 3 shrivelled radishes, which have now gone into the compost to work their way back into food production, so pretty pleased with that win, thanks to the food lists and meal planning.
-taken more cuttings from the rampant Swedish store ivy which is in the kitchen. I have given plants already to DD and my niece. These cuttings will join the others which are intended for outdoor pots (insert Martin emoji here). That’s the plan anyway…
-sowed some more seeds - geraniums and saved sweet peas this time. It was nice to be outside for a bit, but it is still very cold and foggy.
-cleaned up my garden tools in the gh. Not sure how that got onto my list, but it was a job that apparently needed doing.
The birds are still treating the bird feeders with caution, although I have spotted a brave blackbird and a couple of t!ts there. Hopefully woth time they will get used to them, as I can see the small birds congregating in the shrubs.
Ummm, there might be more, but that feels productive enough for now. Mr M will deliver later - another small shop and a birthday present of cider. Keeping in the grocery budget so far, but there is a loooong way to go. Off to see if I can make a knitted scrunchie for DD out of yarn stash, as this is her latest request…8 -
well I started out going to the newest, purpose-built care home. Fabulous - not just the decor and layout, but the staff - so friendly, all said hello, all of them; I was greeted appropriately, the receptionist went to get the general manager and while I was waiting (and it wasn't long at all) somebody checked I was being seen to and the 'lounges' were delightful. Lovely rooms with en suite facilities and space and carpet and lovely furniture. But the staff just all seemed to be on it and the atmosphere was perfect. Then I went to the second. I don't care how good the care is it just felt grim. Over my dead body is she going in there even though it's within walking distance of home, so dad could easily visit. And the rooms were tiny. And the bathrooms and toilets shared. I think the bar has been set high.
