You have all been busy.I did daily stuff, then trotted off to big city, to buy new jeans and a black sweat top, (no zip, no tassles, no logo) had to visit about 6 shops before I found a black top, then another 5 for the price I was prepared to pay, £45 for a black top I don't think so, loads cheaper ones in pale pastel type colours, no use to me with 3 cat that come in from the field, with muddy feet and want to sit on me. Still didn't find any jeans.Did visit a GC and bought 2 cherry trees, I now offically (according to google) have an orchard, as I have 6 fruit trees in total, will plant today's trees tomorrow, when I can see what I am doing.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Scribbled a list today as I need to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
- wudupa
- one load washing done and hung out
- read gas and electricity meters, sent readings in
- went through the 3 recipe books I'd brought back from Mum's. Put in recycling as there was nothing I didn't have or wanted.
- emailed friend who does a lot of sewing; I have taken over Mum's sewing box and plan to consolidate it with mine then get rid of one. She has lots of bottles of buttons so I'm hoping one of my sewing/crafting friends will find the buttons useful.
- emailed student the notes of what we discussed on Wednesday
- went to Step class
- unpacked a large plastic box I'd brought up from Mum's (recipe books, a vase, a fruit bowl and a couple of other bits) - all items now have homes or are in recycling.
- took a phone call from clearance man about his quote; acceptable if we empty as many cupboards as possible ourselves (I'd asked him to give a 'worst scenario' quote if we needed it all cleared by him in a hurry; and a 'basic minimum' if we clear all except furniture and things he wants to sell ourselves). I've now got a plan of action but wish we'd heard from the buyers' lawyer today as I have no idea why they are stalling and whether I should still get it all cleared asap. I'm working myself up to going down on Sunday to get cracking.
That's it for now but the day is yet young..........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Ah yes, Fayolle, Dana K White. I've been watching some of her newer videos recently to remind me how to declutter her way and I have to say her system works for me far, far better than anyone else's. I dread the mess of turning everything out and then sorting it, running out of steam and ending up with a bigger mess, so I do one space at a time and it works for me. (Sorry Marie Kondo, I just don't want all my clothes on the floor.)I am now officially at 1023 items decluttered. The attic didn't have the boxes of books I was planning on decluttering today; apparently I let all of those books go some years ago so the figures aren't as good as I was hoping they'd be but I've now been through everything up there and there is light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of paperwork came down and will be in the recycling bin in the morning, a stack about 6" high, and I'm mighty chuffed about that. There's plenty more to go generally but big things have also gone - framed pictures, a lovely laundry basket that we just don't need, and a pretty bamboo chest of drawers but we have nowhere to put it now that the space in my office where it used to go when people stayed in there is where I keep the ironing board. And I don't want people staying in my office any more. I think I'm at the stage where I'm getting rid of really nice things and I don't mind because I know I won't be using them again and I'm sick of moving stuff about to get to other stuff. It's all stacked up in the dining room ready to go.At some point fairly soon I'm going to have to start on the linen, towels, duvets, pillows and so on. All good stuff, but we haven't used it for years so someone else may just as well have the use of it. I gave a lot of excess bedding to the Women's Shelter a few years ago and I had a lovely email back from them about a week later saying it had been used the same day I donated it for a family that was fleeing domestic abuse in a (named) city. I wonder if they want more. Will take care of that next week.Better is good enough.6

well I bet if we'd had a sweep we wouldn't have come up with a toolbelt. Are OoD dives happening at the weekend, too? It's exciting
Neighbours have been on some programme with Monty Don. Well, their garden has. It's quite a nice garden they had a good garden designer back in the day lol
I have sorted washing - I have a maiden of damp washing drying and and maiden of ironed washing airing.
Been to another home; it's on the yes list. With my Help the Aged tick list - thanks Narco.

The stuff has been there since 2017 when we last had a proper tidy up & clean for putting house on the market & stashed stuff wherever we could.
Alas, we were mucked about by 2 lots of byers (£ucker$) and we lost the house we had paid for survey & searches on 😤🤬. We took a break, lost interest, covid happened and my cancer came back (in remission now), I lost my younger sister, and we haven't looked inside until now.
Another therapeutic unloading from eltee mansion 🤗

Did just a bit more this evening. Heard back from sewing friend that she is happy to take on not just the numerous buttons, but also my old sewing box when I've consolidated the two - especially when I told her that Mum did the tapestry on the lid
I did the remaining 2 jigsaw puzzles.
Arranged to meet swim buddy for a coffee tomorrow although she isn't swimming. It won't be as much fun as last week's ice though!
Honey Bear you are doing so brilliantly with the decluttering. Also fascinated to see what the Ottoman will reveal tomorrow.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Good morning,
It's been an early start for me today and not the best of starts, the new sofa has been delivered however it is too big to fit through the door (DH must have mismeasured it).
My list for today
Get the sofa into the living room (somehow) It took a while and still don't know how but we managed it and it is now in the living room.
Hoover the living room carpet
Dust the living room
Wipe out the bottom of the fridge before Mr T comes
Deal with Mr T delivery, check and put away
Deal with skip delivery/collection (hopefully, this will be the last skip getting delivered for a while but it feels better with a lot less clutter)
Take some stuff to the local recycling centre (some stuff that can't go into the skip)
Go to hairdresser appointment
Take the dog for a long walk
Do paid stuff
HHI
Spend 3 hours on uni work - Only got an hour done, as other tasks took longer than expected
Make payment on credit card
I think that is everything that I need to get done today. I've got a lot of big tasks/problems to sort out so I best get started.
