Belovéd is producing one of his plays this spring/summer locally and had a meeting yesterday with the designer and the wardrobe person. This morning he said, 'Can I have that hat and are there any other things in your clothes decluttering I might be able to use?'Yus yus yus. I hung on to a shirt I've only worn once because he liked it but would be perfect for the main character, and I've also CS'd a couple of unused nightdresses - I thought I was going into hospital a few years ago and decency and all that.Win:win.Better is good enough.7

Afternoon all,
The morning ran away with me, so here we are.
HB, I feel your pain re wasting time hunting for things. We emptied the utility room over a year ago as it was imminent on DH’s List. Still there, still waiting. So where have I put the nifty thingammy that I use to dust venetian blinds when I am REALLY in the mood to. Who knows, but the mood has passed and I have looked everywhere it might be.
Redo - just wanted to say how much I love your Greenfly lists, lurking there since last summer. I love a list, so now I have indoor flying lists and outdoor flying lists. Not sure who I am kidding that I didn’t already have those amongst my many lists, but thank you anyway.
So today’s achievements:
Took DD’s car to big town, filled it with petrol at Mr S.
Popped in to Mr S with my very short list for wrapping paper (DD’s upcoming birthday) and cheese (weekend visitors). Spent some of my points, so not really spent anything 🙃
Had hair cut and spent real money. As it is foggy and damp, I now have frizzy hair, not the sleek locks that I left the hairdresser with.
Home for coffee, then dusted and vacuumed upstairs.
Sorted out my propagator which hasn’t been heating up. Thought it was too full as the lid wouldn’t fit down. Turns out that DH had turned it off at the socket. Days ago. That’ll be it then 😈.
Now to finish my Mr M order, to be delivered tomorrow.6 -

Plan To Do Today List
Clean hand basin in bathroom ✅
Take one thing from box & rehome - rehomed decades old Shake & Vac in the bin ✅
Bedroom 2
Bring down one black bin bag ✅ and sort contents .... might be another one item at a time jobby 🙄
I've torn a hole in the black bin bag to eyeball the contents. Remote control car(s?) and toddler toys. For those who don't know: DS is 32 years old. I think I see the cuckoo clock that fitted on the cot bars - if it still works I'm keeping that for now (future grandbairns and all that). The rest will be donated if working or, more likely, binned, and batteries sent to recycling. But not today. One more day won't hurt.

Fayolle I feel your pain regarding the venetian blind cleaner thingy. I'm determined not to be cross with Belovéd who keeps poking at my Donate piles and retrieving things I know will sit on the stairs to his office for many a year irritating me every time I see them, which is a lot, as the bottom stair is right outside my RoD. Predictably when I had an empty shelf, dusted, pristine and a thing to marvel at in the RoD - he put something on it this morning. He won't be doing that again.I'm not going to get cross / irritated / cross / irritated recurring. Actually, he was very good and came up to the attic with me, brought something down and is throwing stuff out. This is progress. Unfortunately our wheelie bin is already full with 12 days until the next collection. We're planning on 'topping up' the bins people down the road leave out. It's their own fault.I had a boatload of stuff to do today so I didn't get up to the attic as early as I should have done, but nonetheless I have moved the hiking and camping gibble to the section that the ood food used to occupy, which cleared access to a lot of boxes I wanted to investigate. A lot of stuff has been brought down and sortted into tip / CS/ Scrapstore and the Outreach project. I was very good and didn't count the two boxes of envelopes as individual envelopes, just one item for each box and the cutlery rolls are five items, although judging by the weight there are probably 100 pieces of cutlery. The attic was the repositry for the catering gibble I used on the film that Belovéd made a few years ago, when they were too poor to provide professional catering so I did it. He's not making another one as far as I know but even if he does, it's all replaceable. So far, 149 items of clothing - a pair of socks counts as one item, and more good winter ones were up there, as well as woolly hats I'm not going to wear again, so that's another run to the outreach project planned for tomorrow.Chuffed with 913 to date as a figure.Even if I stopped now, for any reason, that's 913 items I never have to tidy, sort, put away or look at again. I do worry I'm not going to meet my 2,500 target for the month, but so far so good.Better is good enough.6

Evening all - reporting in after a busy few days at work with minimal flying. I'm also having a major sort out of stuff this year - I'm not quite able to say I'll be getting rid of 2500 items each month like you Honey Bee, but I'm going to make a big dent in my gibble, that's for sure.
Someone on here and I'm not sure who, years ago, gave me an idea to do dot-to-dot cleaning/tidying/sorting and it has really stuck with me. I'm also a fan of the "don't put it down, put it away" mantra that Valli champions and I am getting brutal with it. I have started getting rid of items I have kept as they might come in useful one day...padded envelopes, old but still working felt tip colouring pens, mostly used up scented candles, small flower pots, ugly drying up cloths, dried up boot polish, giant rubber dinosaurs etc. etc. etc. I don't really have the time or inclination to list stuff online in the hope that someone will buy my junk and I REALLY don't want to have to meet and speak with strangers as this spikes my anxiety something awful, so heigh-ho, heigh-ho, off to the bin it goes....Fling!
I wanted to blitz the main bathroom today but I've sat down now and my hip has seized up, so I think I will knock that notion on the head. Watching Spurs lose to the Gooners though, so DH is not a happy bunny...I might remove myself from the blue air...

- wudupa
- cleaned glass fruit bowl I brought back from Mum's; came up a treat with limescale removing spray
- tidied kitchen
- work included a meeting with a student for a short session, which I enjoyed
- paid tax bill
- researched a lot about Mum's various bits of china as I'm getting fairly keen on the auction idea now. Started a list, from memory, of what she has so I can finalise it when I'm next down there. Not had anything sensible from lawyers yet.
- checked out Trave1odge as advertised on MSE this week in preparation for when I visit Mum but can no longer stay in her house.
- did some drumming practice.
- dismantled front door flower arrangement 'star' so I'm almost saying goodbye to Christmas; just 2 more mince pies to eat!Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
