BG did not arrive this afternoon. Most annoying. No text. No email. Just checked my BG app and they're now looking forward to seeing me between 8am and 12 noon tomorrow. Hmmm. Good thing I'm on Annual Leave. Muttley muttering...
Valli - I have a purpose made screen cover but I've never used it. Never worked out what to do with it after removing from the car. And I like scraping ice off my car windows. There's something curiously satisfying to it. I know. I'm weird. 🤪.
MadamMim - awww. Thank you. 😘

Well done to everyone who has been dealing with frogs, especially Valli, Fayolle, redo and HB.
I wish I could say that I have dealt with loads of things off my to-do list, but it has taken all my energy today to have another blood test, go to M€rry H€11 to get petrol, buy MnS decaff coffee, swap the Boddy Shoppe goodies that DH bought me for Christmas (I had specifically asked him only to buy me one particular type and he had ignored/forgotten/ not listened in the first place to what I'd said - I am not not telling him that I've done the swap) and finally do almost a trolley-load of shopping at the big MrAl. After all that I was rather glad that Rosie didn't want to go out for a walk.
The photos are getting sorted very slowly. I'm on the second cull of 1978.8 -
Well done Valli, and all those decluttering.
I shined the kitchen sink but it's not shiny now, gave DH a hand cleaning the car (well, I filled buckets of water, see previous comment!), went to exercise class, posted parcels and walked Poppet.Went back to doing connections yesterday and completed both days.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
You have all been busy, I am cheering you on from the sidelines. I am pretty ruthless about stuff nowadays but there are some bits of the house that need sorting. Over Christmas I pulled a big box down out of the top of the wardrobe full of old Christmas bits. A good proportion of it was decorations and cards made by the boys (e.g. bits of card cut into a Christmas tree shape with blobs of glitter here and there).
I sorted out some nice bits to keep but 90% of it went in the recycling or bin. I had a minor wobble when it actually went in the bin but what is the point of keeping it? I never look at it and I don't need tatty bits of cardboard to remember the good times when they were small.
I have another similar box of "artwork" and school books to deal with when I am in the right frame of mind.
But it's been two long days at the paid stuff, so Flying has been minimal. The basics are done at least. An early night is needed.

Evening - just checking in. Hope everyone is ok.This morning I posted a card to A's cousing as her birthday is coming up. I then popped to the shops for a paper, and a pain-au-chocolat; when I got back and we shared it with a coffee. After l lunch I WUPA everything and ordered a nice card for A's 80th birthday, which is next week. He needs some physio following his accident but he needs a home visit which his NHS physio won't provide so we are having to have a private physio. I helped him complete and send the initial online request form. They rang later and gathered lots of information and said they would contact him again with some suggested dates for a physio to visit.I then made tea and WUPA, made supper and WUPA and helped A wash and dry his feet. He knocked over a glass of Ribena during supper so after I'd done his feet I took everything off the table and put the tableclcoth in the washing machine with some Naisan, as previously recommended on here, put a fresh one on and put everything back on the table. Just his second lot of eye drops to do and put out his breakfast things and morning meds.9

Thanks for all your support and hugs. I won't mention any crying today as it gets boring, just be assured it happened.
- rush round to tidy Mum's house before clearance man came.
- He seemed pleasant, unsurprisingly we aren't sitting on a fortune but he will send a quote, will make offers for some stuff and has advised best contact for stuff he feels we'd get a better price for elsewhere e.g. auction for china. Part way through the discussions and confirmed with DB afterwards is that we have miscommunicated. I thought DB said we were taking stuff we wanted, then at the end of the day, the house clearance man would take everything else. DB tells me that he said take what we want, then every time he is in the house, he will take some stuff to the charity shop. What peeved me is that I need time to gradually reduce stuff; the gradual removal means that other stuff behind it or inside it, is then revealed so I can consider that too. And I need time to think and - sad to say - time to mentally say goodbye (well that's a Marie Kondo for you). So when he unceremoniously piled what I call "Grandma's jelly dishes" into a box with other items to go to charity, I ....... No, I hadn't wanted them for myself and yes, I'm glad someone else may use them - it was just watching them being scooped up that suddenly overwhelmed me.
- had a reasonable drive home.
- email to find that house buyers or their lawyer seem to be stalling over what appear to be odd things so, having calmed down at seeing Mr N again and getting home, I'm now in bits again. Double dose of rescue remedy tonight I feel.
- have done some research on the next auctions.
- unpacked most of what I brought back (apart from my clothes: one computer chair as a wheel fell off mine; just one vase after immense restraint; one glass fruit bowl because it is nicer than our metallic one; Christmas decorations, cards and wrapping paper; hand written recipe books; one pottery storage jar to see how it looks in our kitchen as there are more or else they may all go to auction). So not too bad really.
Tomorrow is aqua aerobics, work and hopefully sensible news from lawyers.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
Good morning, hugs to those who want/need them. It's an earlier start for me today as I've so much to do this morning.
My list for today
Take the cat to the vets
Go to uni lecture
Do paid stuff
Take the dog for a long walk
Collect the cat from the vets
Do uni prep for tomorrow
Check tracking on the new sofa
S&S bathroom
Wipe bathroom mirrors
Spend an hour sorting out diary
Check banking and update direct debits
Look into money saving ideas noted whilst watching tv last night
HHI
Move my desk into the new office space
I think that is everything I need to try and get done today. I hope everyone has a lovely day.8 -
Good morning my lovelies xx
I'm up, dressed, made my bed, fed the birds, put out the recycling, reread and rephotoed the gas meter, completed Strands with no hints needed, completed Wordle in six, and didn't even manage one line on Connections! Brew 2 is going down nicely.
Let's see if BG turn up today!
Plan To Do Today List
WUDUPA
Empty kitchen bin
Put new bin liner in
Clean hand basin in bathroom
Take one thing from box & rehome
Wash towels and tea towels
Bedroom 2
Bring down bag of knights to give to PJ
Bring down one black bin bag and sort contents
Roll up posters
That's enough to be going on with.
Have a good day everyone.

Seriously impressed with that tiling Valli. *doffs cap*Narco, I feel your pain at the miscommunication. I can't forget my brothers' behaviour when we cleared out my mother's room at the nursing home. Time and taking it slowly helps the adjustments needed. There's no rush because you don't have a completion date on the house, so take as much of it as you feel you can. Completion dates are always set by the solicitors but there's nothing to stop you saying you need an extra week when exchange is close. We don't always have to go along with what other people say if it doesn't suit us..Good to see you CoG. I napisan'd three tablecloths yesterday and from what I saw when I pegged them out - it's brilliant. Thank you to whoever suggested it in fhe first place.Lots of little dailies done already because Belovéd woke up early this morning. Loved Strands, Wordle in six (phew) and no idea about Connections spring to mind. I'll come back to that later.Today the attic is going to get some serious attention.Better is good enough.8

morning all
Hugs Narco, it’s hard. Even when you don’t want things it feels like you’re letting go of your lived one, that, because the possessions don’t matter to you the loved one doesn’t matter.
I’ll be grouting later, then going to work.
Had a whale of a time doing strands…no hints needed. Stumped by connections though. Wordle in 4
WM x 1. Might even peg it out.
