Channelling Round's continue Slinky achievements. Thanks for Fred Valli and Natty.Kitchen bin scrubbed inside and out after last week's bag overflow which I discovered late last night and which resulted in a flooded kitchen. Not a happy bunny at bedtime. Sink and draining board scrubbed within an inch of their lives. Walked Wren her full mile, drop offs at the vet's (Wren's sample - if it's positive it would explain the 'mistakes' because she's being let out enough but I still end up washing carpets and it's getting irritating), to the Dump Dump Dump (so satisfying) and the CS with two boxes of decluttered gibble, and then filled the car up.I've also done a bit more decluttering in my RoD/Office and now have enough space on four bookshelves to clean them properly, put some stuff back and make them pretty again. At the moment they look like a mouthful of broken teeth. I'm finding it really, really easy to get rid of books, and somewhere along the way I've found some I didn't realise I had. I knew I had Mrs Beeton's Household Management (1933 Edition) which says 'Mrs XXXX' on the front page but as it wasn't my mother's writing I've never been able to think much further about its origins. *Lightbulb* moment a few days ago - it was my father's mother's. I have very little of her stuff and she died a couple of months before I was born, but apparently she'd furnished a nursery in her house for me she was so excited. I'm not a minimalist so I don't need to ditch everything I don't actually use, and this book would have been stashed on my Guiltily Unloved pile forever, whereas I can now treasure it. But books in general - the easiest of possessions to declutter as far as I'm concerned at the moment. Never thought I'd see that day, but here we are.Am now going to go and declutter the cupboards under the sinks because all three of them need a serious prune and I'm short on the Kitchenalia/Household front, and then some clothes.Better is good enough.8

My plan to plough through the leaning tower of laundry has gone t!t$ up - our WM & TD live in the garage (we've a stupidly small kitchen) and a water pipe has burst 😤

Marvellous Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Clean/polish table
Clean microwave
Dust dining area/room
Clean chairs
Mostly dining room stuff left to do, but first I need to tackle the cardboard mountain (recycling collection in the morning) and fold and put away all of the bedding that I washed yesterday. This was a big sort out, and a re-wash before I store things. Some bits for rags, some for saving for dust sheets and the rest to fold and put away safely in the newly emptied airing cupboard. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I'm stopping for the day, about 4 items under on Kitchenalia/Household and about 20 under on Clothes. I need a shower and I need to take things a bit easier than I did last week. Somewhere I've got some notes about easy places to tackle that will produce gibble; the problem with the under sink areas is that I did them about four weeks ago in the run up to Christmas. If I hadn't today's searches would have yielded plenty of extraneous stuff, more than enough for yesterday, today and tomorrow. Clothes, not so much, but I know there are some in the attic and my wardrobe's stuffed but I don't want to go up to the attic today and frankly the wardrobe and chest of drawers are too big a job for me to tackle at 5.00pm.As Scarlet O'Hara says: 'Tomorrow is another day.'Better is good enough.9

Oh HoneyBear how lovely to know that, even though your Grandmother died before you were born she was so excited that you were to be born.
I've done HHI, fed the rabbits before it got dark - and I can get into Daisy's pen now the ground is thawing.
I've borrowed a tile cutter so I'm hoping to deal with a frog tomorrow.
At work I have done lots of tidying, I have found homes for some stuff and I've filed stuff.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

An emotional day.
- went through Mum's skirts and trousers, sorting into bin (how can she have used so many different pairs of trousers for painting!!), charity and keep.
- ditto shoes
- went through one large drawer of undies, pjs etc
- listed everything in the house which we want the house clearance man to particularly note. Kept finding things I'd forgotten about or not noticed. Eventually printed off the list, once I'd put a new cartridge in her printer.
- Mum's best friend came round to coffee and to receive an ornament she had always liked. She was barely through the door before I started crying, most embarrassing and a surprise it happened so soon. Cried after she'd gone.
- polished a few silver items and displayed them more prominently.
- went to visit Mum. Sadly one of her very confused days today, almost the worst I've seen although she calmed down a bit eventually and started making sense. I managed to get her to choose 2 handbags to keep so 2 others can be passed on. Had a chat to care manager about all the clothes and she is happy for me to put them in bags/boxes clearly labelled 'summer' or 'winter' to use as spares/in rotation, rather than get them all name-labelled and clutter up Mum's wardrobe. There is a shelf at the top of the wardrobe which would accommodate the 'spares'. That's something I can continue next time I'm here. Read through all Mum's Christmas cards which, as I'd hoped, staff had put in a drawer, so I've checked if anyone was missed off the list or had change of address etc.
Walked back and almost had another cry, must be one of those days.
DB has arrived so I've gone through with him all I have done. Didn't quite cry. Seems the 2 solicitors are discussing details about access to the drive and garage, so completion may not be 29th.
Rang Mr N.
Tomorrow the clearance man is coming at 9.30. I'll then start filling the car up with 'stuff' I either want, or need to sort at home.
Off to have a quick tidy round then watch the news with a cuppa and try to get a better night than last night.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -

Flew this morning then groomed a delightful Golden Retriever, who covered me in floofy hair. Napped a little then collected Tiny from his friend's house and dropped two others back at their home. Spag Bol for tea and a large G&T
A little bit of admin done but that's it for today...TTFN x7
