Claim Form Received

Hi all.
New member here. I've had a "claim form", this from DCB legal. Issue date 17/12/24 (reading the letter states this can be taken as 5 days after this date, so 22/12/24. I have filed an acknowledgement on the Money Claim website. By my calculations, I have until 19/1/24 to file a defence.
I know there is some advice already posted on here and I will be using this to file my defence. But, please bear with me, since this alleged defence took place, I have gone through significant health issues which have made it difficult for me to follow instructions.
In a nutshell, I paid using the "pay by phone" app a few years ago in Euro Car Park and went about my evening. As the time was running out, I realised I would not make it back in time for the end of my parking session. I went back onto the pay by phone app, and the correct Location number was still in the search bar. However, it then displayed "location not found". This is 100% the correct number. I was savvy enough to screenshot this for my defence. To pay for an extra hour would have cost the grand total of £1 so I was most definitely not trying to get out of paying. I ended up overstaying by about 20 mins, by the time I walked back to the Car Park.
After appeal etc. the cost is now up to £294.36.
Could someone please point me to the defence paragraphs and also can I please confirm that I should not file my complaint on the same website but reply by email instead, and if so, what is the email address.
apologies for the long post (it's taken me ages to write) but as I said, my cognitive function is not good.
TIA

4pm on Monday 20th January is the deadline, not on a Sunday
If its ECP & DCB Legal, then post a redacted picture of the POC on the lower left of the claim form, after hiding the VRM details and hiding the rest of the claim form
Use the latest ECP paragraph 3, numbered points rebutting their POC
add an ending to the paragraph 2 as well, the rest of the template defence is unchanged
The email address is the claim.responses email address listed in paragraphs 1 & 2 in the defence template thread in announcements, top of the forum2 -
Hello and welcome.
A Defence filing deadline will never be on a Sunday.
Can you please show us a picture of the Particulars of Claim - with all your personal detail hidden of course. With a Claim Issue Date of 17th December, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 20th January 2025 to file a Defence.
That's over a week away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.3 -
bear with me, having issues uploading pic. site saying it's "9 characters too short"!0

You need to add a short sentence as well as the picture, something like
Here is a picture of the redacted POC on my claim form2 -
Here find below pick of the redacted POC0

I bet that issue date is incorrect, in which case use the following paragraph 3 and only change the date
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/81139187/#Comment_81139187
Add a short ending to paragraph 2 in the template defence, adding, and driver
Then post your proposed paragraphs 2 & 3 below for checking1 -
I certainly will. I will do this tomorrow morning and post.
let me take the opportunity to thank you all for your help so far.1 -
By 'post' you mean email it to the address given in the Template Defence thread.
Don't post the whole defence here please. We don't want or need to review it!
Obviously you are using the whole template defence and merely changing a few words at the end of para 2 and changing a date in para 3. Then after adding the right details in the top headings, you are electronically signing & dating it. Then saving it as a PDF & emailing it as an attachment.
Then follow the first 12 steps in the Template Defence without any need to come back here and ask us about Mediation or the first three letters.
We'll see you again in six months at WS and evidence stage before the hearing date, at the time when DCB Legal will frantically contact you then they'll discontinue.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD2 -
Yes, thank you. although I would like someone to look over it as G1PR very kindly proposed to look over it. I won't post it here though if it's not the thing to do!0

Posting paragraphs 2 & 3 on your own thread is normal, common practice here
What nobody here wants to see is the rest of the unchanged template defence Paragraphs, no point & boring
When your 2 paragraphs are approved, you slot them into the template after deleting the existing 2 & 3, saving as a pdf document, then follow what coupon mad stated1
