You've done brilliantly and it's going to be one hell of a Christmas Day to be completely debt free forever!
Good idea to leave the TV service until January or February as an annual payment as these are the months which are Council Tax free so you'll have that extra money as well as no debt payments.

Well done; this is a great update.
You are now debt free. I know you have a balance on your credit card, but if you wanted, you could clear it from your savings, so 11 months to clear your debt which is fantastic progress.
I’m sure you will wait until Christmas Day to clear the balance and I think this is a good idea but all your hard work has meant you now have a choice and that is a great achievement.
I’m looking forward to your December update and your plans for the coming year.

I forgot to mention yesterday i had the second of my free Greggs hot drinks for this month. I wasn't very impressed, I certainly wouldn't pay money for one that's for sure.
I havent been shopping today, i have decided i will go first thing in the morning before it gets busy instead.
No money spent today

Thank you 😊daisy_1571 said:That really is a great total.
As I said before, you aren't just glancing at these motivational quotes, you are doing the hard work and its paying off.
Just imagine, from January instead of that figure going to pay off debts, its going to fund you, your life, helping you be prepared for any emergency that comes along, allowing you to do bits and pieces of improvement to your home making it a truly peaceful and welcoming place for you, pupster, your daughter and any other visitors, opening your world up a little from the fairly narrow self imposed one that has brought great strides that were needed but might not be completely sustainable for the rest of your life!
At that point you will have a new focus, how to navigate a path that doesn't see you start your old cycle of building debts again then going hair shirt to pay them down. Tot up all the interest you've paid over the years, if that will help see the benefits of getting ahead of any upcoming payments and always having savings.
Well done tezza

Yes it will be nice to not have the stress or worry about a debt hanging over me and having the little growing security of money building up in savings should i need it for anything in the future.
Yes i think over the years i must have paid an absolute fortune in interest, i have now matured and value money and its power more than i ever have, im more money aware than i have ever been and im determined to change from my old ways.
Thank you for your kind words once again ❤️Debts Jan 6th 2025 = £6465.60

Thank you 😁 Yes it has fallen just nicely for Christmas. Hopefully i can stay debt free once it is finally paid off.joedenise said:You've done brilliantly and it's going to be one hell of a Christmas Day to be completely debt free forever!

Yeh i was going to mention that if i leave renewing my TV service until February then i would benefit from no direct debit of council tax in the Feb and March months, as i pay my Council Tax over 10 months and not 12, so the money i save from that could be used on my TV service renewal instead..... but i didnt want to waffle and bore everyone tooo much on my long monthly report lol.

Yes i will wait until Christmas day to pay it off in full as i do need some money for gifts for family and i don't really know how much this will come to, so my savings will be used for these gifts and i will be using the remainder of my savings to pay off the outstanding balance on Christmas day.
I am also looking forward to my December update. But as of yet i am unsure of what my future plans are for the next year or so. It may seem silly but it has kind of crept up on me, i have been focused on my daily and weekly payments and kind of thinking it will take forever to pay off this debt, and now i am here with less than 30 days left until its all paid off and i havent really thought about what im going to do afterwards. I will have to come up with a plan at some point. But my next stress is to get my Xmas shopping done, it's one of the most stressful times of the year for me, i detest it 😫

Well done. Will be avidly watching those amounts go down in the run up for December.
Got to ask which hot drink did you have at Greggs this time? I quite like their latte but I like milky hot drinks, many would find it too weak.
Re Xmas present shopping. Tip for you, look this weekend for ideas because its black friday weekend and deals and discounts are currently on. They will be on all weekend and probably on Monday too. Get your thinking cap on. Look online if you dont fancy in person shopping, ask who you buy for for ideas if youre stuck. No point spending your birthday on Tuesday stressing when the prices of items have gone up, when you could buy before for cheaper and enjoy your birthday not thinking about it.
To give an example I did yesterday. Looking for a present for my adult son, I went on a website (shaving related manufacturer) and was going to order something, made sure I met requirements for free delivery before I could check out my husband mentioned a bumper pack of blades he wanted (that I initially said 'how much??' too!) Once convinced this was a good buy (by being shown prices elsewhere that cost more for less blades) they went into my basket. That left me £4 short of qualifying for a free gift, back to the website and saw a toiletry item on buy one get one free, put that in and a really nice razor set for free has become part of my Dad's Xmas present.
