It's once again my favourite day of the month, my end of month lump sum payment day - the day before my payday 🥳

This month i started the month with 38p left in my account from the last month and my monthly salary of  £1753.51. I now have £344.27 left in my account.

So i have just made my lump sum payment this month of £340.00 ! to my Natwest CC. Bringing the outstanding balance now down to £576.76 going into my final month 😍🤩

    Debts summary :

Debt balances when i started posting on this forum on 6th Jan

    Hastings Loan  £2962.60
    Virgin CC £1230.00
    Tesco CC  £2273.00

    Total £6465.60

Reduced by £5888.84 since 3rd January

    🎄🎅🏼🎁⛪❄️

    .......................................................................................................................................................

Savings/Emergency account payments this month :

    Previous balance £715.91
    This months payments +£160.00

    End balance  £875.91

    ....................................................................................................................................................

    Summary :

I quick look at the figures above. I have now got the debt to below £600 with around 1 month left of payments until Xmas day, my target to be debt free. I have now paid off over 91% of my original debt.

My aim for this month was to get the figure down to at least £750.00 and i can safely say i have SMASHED 💥 through that target. This has been helped by my monthly direct debit for my CSA payment not coming out my bank until tomorrow which means more money for this months lump sum payment. Also stretching my last weekly food shop out until after today, which gives my extra money in my bank towards my lump sum payment again.

I was also planning to renew my "tv service" this month which is £50 for the year. But i have decided to put this off for now, and renew this in either January or February, as when this comes around again each year for renewal, it wont be at a time where i have my car insurance renewal and Christmas around the corner, so hopefully i won't mind paying a one off fee of £50 for entertainment purposes, which isn't a "need" it's a want and not essential. So that has saved me £50 in my savings account .... for now at least.

As you can see i have also added an extra column on my No spend days table. I have gone back through all my 91 pages of posts and added up all the costs of my food shops for each month. It doesnt really mean anything, but it is just interesting to see how much the figures add up to and how they compare month to month.

    Looking ahead ......

Well obviously this coming month is Christmas, and as some of you know, i hate Christmas, but i will have to spend some of my savings/emergency account money on gifts for family in this coming month, so this will reduce my savings a fair amount, but nothing silly as i dont have many people to buy things for.

Also, im on annual leave from work next week and it's my birthday on Tuesday, so i can spend the week relaxing ..... or rather stressing over what presents i have to buy people 😫

My Aim for next month .....

There is only one aim i have left now and that is to pay the total debt off on Christmas day 🎄🎁🎅🏼 I will be using money out of my savings/Emergency account to make a lump sum payment of the total remaining debt on Christmas day.

    Overall ....

The finish line is very much in sight now, im sprinting down that home straight. It will be here before i know it.

Thank you all for your comments, advice, support and encouragement over the past month ❤️

    ..... On to December 🎄🎅🏼🎁

(im slowly getting all the quotes i have stored on my laptop posted before Christmas)

That really is a great total.

As I said before,  you aren't just glancing at these motivational quotes, you are doing the hard work and its paying off.

Just imagine, from January instead of that figure going to pay off debts, its going to fund you, your life, helping you be prepared for any emergency that comes along, allowing you to do bits and pieces of improvement to your home making it a truly peaceful and welcoming place for you, pupster, your daughter and any other visitors, opening your world up a little from the fairly narrow self imposed one that has brought great strides that were neede but might not be completely sustainable for the rest of your life!

At that point you will have a new focus, how to navigate a path that doesn't see you start your old cycle of building debts again then going hair shirt to pay them down.  Tot up all the interest you've paid over the years, if that will help see the benefits of getting ahead of any upcoming payments and always having savings.

    Well done tezza
