Say you are open to discussing it when they have the go ahead and know exactly what the hours and responsibilities will be.
If its a goer and suits you then you can go for it but keep looking for something else.
If not then nothing lost

Agree with Daisy are you also able to talk to someone who currently does that role about what it will entail?

also consider if it’s experience that will help to get another job

Thanks for the comments regarding whether to go for the new job or not. I have basically told my manager that it is all just words and nothing will happen unless the person currently in that job leaves/is no longer in that position, like last time i was told there was a job when there wasn't. So i will believe it when it happens really, can't trust a word that comes out of their mouths tbh.

YES, don’t trust anything said until you have a formal job offer.
I really appreciate how consistent you are with your investments and I like the visual elements you include in your diary.

Thank you. There has been no other mention of it since and no sign of the other employee leaving so i guess nothing is changing for now. I'm still keeping my eyes out for external jobs for the long term anyway, so i'm not that bothered.
Thanks, i like to drip my investments on a daily basis as this helps to average out the total investment over time. With pound cost averaging playing a big part in gaining an edge when dips occur, as previously discussed. I also find doing it daily helps me to keep focused and disciplined to carry on if im constantly revisiting my portfolio and updating my spreadsheet. I am enjoying my investment journey so far, although slow as it is only early days but the longer i do it for the more interesting (pun intended) it will become with compounding of interest taking effect and growing the balance more quickly.I do like to give a couple of motivational quotes with my posts just to add a bit of food for thought and to think about.
