Tbh Tez - I had wondered when you put that your previous manger saying that 'they had previously stopped you from internally transferring a couple of times previously' was this with your knowledge and consent?

No harm in politely asking today about the other role and if it was mentioned.

You wouldnt be the first person Ive heard of though who has been intentionally kept down as theyve not wanted to lose a good worker (and have invariably lost them anyway!)

🤯😠😡🤬 This company i work for !!!!

So today both of the managers took me into the office and basically told me that there is no other job that i had applied for anymore! They said the regional manager told them yesterday that he had advertised that job just incase one of the people affected by the reduction in hours in their contract decided to leave, which hasn't happened. Yet he told the manager that he was taking on an additional person on top of the existing staff numbers. So basically this was just lies to enable him to get someone in quickly should someone leave. This job is also still currently being advertised online, shocking.

I don't know why he just couldnt be honest and tell the truth? it wouldn't change anything. This is the type of person he is. He just tells lies to get what he wants and does not care about anyone or anything else. Apparently he has now told the manager that in July when they get their new budget for the branch they will see if there is enough money to get an additional person or not. More lies to string people along i imagine.

Anyway, after i was told there is no other job, my manager who has been trying to get me to go back to do my old job because someone is leaving, then asked me again for the third or forth time if i would consider going back to my old position. Touting it as trying to do me a favour because it is more hours per week than what im now on. I was told to "think about it" (for about the forth time).

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is all a plan by the regional manager to try and get me into going back to my old job by saying the other job is no longer available. i will not be going back to my old job whatsoever, there are reasons why i left that job and the main one was that i simply could not work with the manager. They are very difficult to work with and the reason the other person is leaving, the reason i left and the reason why the other person who works with them now is unhappy also. So, i will not be going back to that position, that's for sure.

And the unprofessional way they have slyly gone about things and not told the truth and treated people with no single ounce of respect means i can not wait to find alternative employment with a different company. This is the very reason they have a high turnover of staff and lose the ones that are decent.

I will stay in my current position until i find a new job. I'm hoping to hear from the job i applied for last weekend. The closing date for applicants is 23rd April still around a week away, but fingers crossed for that.

Thank you. i was aware that they had blocked my internal transfer previously (twice), but i didn't consent to it as i wanted to move roles but i was told i couldn't.

I have just posted more detail on todays events. Tbh the whole place is like an unprofessional circus. I have never known a business run in such amateurish way, with little or no regard to their staff. No wonder their staff turnover is soo high.

Anyway, i am now on the lookout for a job elsewhere.

Keeping everything xd you hear good news about the job you applied for and that others get advertised that you fancy too. It would be a lovely position to have 2 offers you can pick between that would get you away from your current place

Eh, what on earth did I just read? A fake job has been advertised and continues to be so in case someone from your team leaves. Well if they do, then what - the fake job doesn't exist? What are they doing about any external candidates applying? A bizarre way to run a business. I don't blame you Tez, stay where you are and look for something better. You'll manage the hours decrease, even if it's not ideal, you're in a better financial situation now, with paying off the debt and fortunately locking in the next mortgage deal

Today, i told my work that i won't be returning to my old position and will stay in my current role. That is until i can find an alternative job.

I received an email from the job i applied for last weekend saying i didn't get the job. So it is back to searching again and hoping something comes up suitable for me to apply for 🤞🏼

Thank you. Unfortunately it's not good news about the one i applied for. I had a rejection email today from that one. But i will continue my search for other opportunities.

That s very true about leaving managers and not jobs. The job is very often not the problem at all.

Yep the job is still advertised today. if someone leaves then the job will be to replace the person who has left. I think it has been mentioned that they are saving the details/CV's of the applicants so if someone did/does leave then they can contact one of them to replace them. Also, they said in case in July when they get the new budget for the year and decide to have an additional person then they already have details of people to contact. But i would imagine people would have already found employment by then or made alternative arrangements. I also very much doubt this whole story about seeing if there is money in the new budget for an extra person is even true, i think it is just another story to string people along like normal. It is very bizarre and a totally unprofessional way to run a business.

I have had bad news today about the job i applied for last weekend. But i will be continuing my search for other suitable opportunities of jobs to apply for and hopefully get myself out of this disaster of a company as soon as possible.

Yes thankfully i locked in the mortgage at a good time so things could have been worse.
