New to the crafting board so just looking at some past posts and seeing everyone's brilliant creations. I took up crochet in April this year after giving up on the resin craft dream
I took up playing with epoxy resin during one of the lockdowns to help me stay sane and I do love it - but having adopted a very clingy new rescue dog in 2021 who won't let me be out of her sight when I'm home (and I can't have her in the room with me when using resin for her safety), I've had to put that very much on hold and look for something new that doesn't require a huge investment to start and is a bit more environmentally friendly. So crochet it is!
Since April I have made about a million hats and scarves, a few bags, headbands, gloves and even some cat toys (that my cats won't have anything to do with) and acculmulated a vast stash of yarn already - so I've put myself on a ban from buying anthing new until next year - the yarn shopping addiction is real! The things I make are gradually getting less wonky as I get better.
Whether my family like it or not, they are all getting new hats and scarves from me this Christmas
so I'm using up the many things in my stash to make it happen - there may be some odd colour combinations though

So the knitting is improving. I can now follow a simple pattern. This is a pic of 4 of the elves that I have made to go for adoption at our Christmas Fair. From left to right we have , Tickle, sparkle, Twinkle and Barbie. There is one at the club already that I have not named yet and I am in the process of making a blue one with silver sparkle that I will call Skye. I hope they make you all smile. I am really pleased with the money that I spent on the tinsel yarn. By mixing it in with my stash colours the whole lot has only cost £7.98 which I have already declared and there is still loads left. I was about to pick up some more in the Range but put it back.

Unfortunately she won't settle that way - believe me, I have trieddaisy_1571 said:Could you use a baby gate across the door so she can see you but not be in the same room?
. It's fine - she's getting on a bit now (was middle-aged when adopted) so I can wait a few years to get back into it now that I have other crafy hobbies to give my attention to. 4
