Morning Lovely Ladies.Definitely a good idea to clear out old toiletries, cosmetics. They can get pretty nasty. Be especially careful with eye make up. Mascara should be replaced every 3 months.Neck improving, knee still giving me gyp. Lol.My old bones are not liking this cold weather.....😏5

GM @helensbiggestfan. Glad to hear your neck is improving. I’m afraid old bones and cold damp weather are not a good combination. I take glucosamine & chondroitin but there are some days when you have admit defeat and accept some level of pain. Your weight loss plans should help your knee. Mine improved a lot when I lost a couple of stone. Unfortunately one of them crept back on, so that’s my next task. It’s so hard to diet in this weather, when all you want to do is eat comfort food full of carbs.😃. Must keep trying. Take care and keep warm everyone.4

I've purchased a sunbed course for my DH as he suffers Fibro (and many other health issues) he feels the cold badly and has pain all over. So he is now in the past week been having his treat this is to help his bones feel a bit of warmth not the vanity side of it. As I can't afford to send him to a warmer climate for 3 months to help out. He says it is doing its job so its a win.

Hello Ladies,I’m not enjoying this cold weather either although I know we have not had it as bad here as elsewhere. The lowest overnight we had was about minus 5.
Glad to hear your neck is improving @helensbiggestfan.
That was a lovely gift for your husband @2Scratters - it is so nice to give something that really makes a difference.
I had a clear out of a lot of cosmetics and creams that had been hanging around just before Christmas and I am now in the process of using the little hoard of miniatures, samples and free gifts that have come with various slightly more luxury toiletries. These are all sealed so will be fine even though I have had some of them for a while. I have quite a lot of Espa & Decleor samples so am looking forward to a little bit of pampering with these. Sunday evening is going to be my ‘me time’ and I am going to try and do something different each week. Last Sunday was an eye mask and a lovely Badedas bath - I think this week will be a face mask and a manicure 😀.
Enjoy the weekend everyone xx5 -
I love a sunbed at this time of year, nothing like the feeling of being warm all over and it really warms the bones - I just need to brave the weather and book myself in. I was a member of a gym with a sauna/steam room and it was a great way to warm up after a long cold run. New gym doesn't have this and I do miss it.
I listened to one of Mel Robbin's podcasts last week with someone called Dr William Li. He talked about his 'protocol' to prevent disease, heal your body, burn fat and feel better. He had some really interesting tips, nothing too outlandish and all achievable within a budget. One of the first things I took away was not eating after 8 pm or before 8 am - it doesn't seem that difficult especially as you can still have black coffee or water. The other thing I've 'managed' regularly is to have some dark chocolate every day - we all have our sacrifices. His advice was to dip it into your hot drink and I think I'm now addicted to it, so much so I don't think I'll ever want milk chocolate again. I am definitely feeling better in myself just following some of his advice, and I've managed to cut the constant snacking. I'll be following his advice over the next few weeks and months and reporting back.

hi fabbers,
hapoy new year!!
lots of great progress from you all.5 -
How is your knee now Helen? I have been feeling pain in my shoulder that I hurt back in 2022 (?) and I still feel it when it gets cold, along with my knee that I had surgery on back in 2010. It makes me feel old, well I am going to be 49 this year. As the saying goes, it beats the alternative!
I am doing a challenge to socialise in my local area as I really haven't made enough effort to meet people since I moved here in 2022. I feel sad as one of my cats died just before Christmas and now I only have one cat and a dog left. I have lost 7 rescue pets since 2008 and it was lovely to have spent time with them, but they came with so much responsibility, time and money along with caring for my husband with cancer and now I feel I need to get out more. My husband retired last year and I am in the position where I have the time and the money to do what I want. My new years resolution is to do 25 classes and read 25 books in 2025 and I have my first class this week.
I want to lose weight and get more fit so I am going to incorporate exercise classes this year too. I ordered some dumbbells. I hope they won't just gather dust. That is a less important goal for 2025, if I'm going to be honest.Lol.

Crikey @Wednesday2000 it doesn't feel like over 2 years since you moved!
About bone pain - I cracked a cheekbone in 2003 when I fell face down on the pavement. Even now when it is cold I get pain in that cheekbone, and I also get sinusitis in that side too.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Wednesday2000, starting to do weights with dumbells is the best idea. You are only young, so will reap benefits from it. I didn't start on weights till I was 63...now 67, and I wish I'd started sooner. I was already diagnosed wit Osteoporosis by then. I have a kettle bell as well, and looking to get a heavier one. My tip would be to leave your weights where you can easily pick them up whenever you have a spare 10mins. If you put them in a cupboard or spare room, you will never use them.....I did that to start with ..lol
I also get pain in cold weather from where I broke my shoulder in 2021 & my wrist in 2023. Find exercise, thermal tops & wrist warmers are the answer.Making the debt go down and savings go up
