MB. You made me laugh with your depiction of "winter glamour". Dodgy knees, streaming eyes, runny noses.  Lol. Add in skin dried out like an old prune because of the lethal combo of cold winds and central heating. My hands are quite sore, even my legs are drying out and feel itchy. Hey ho. The joys of aging......lol.

Currently sat with my heated throw over my legs as I drink my coffee and browse MSE. I suppose the heated throw dries out the skin on my legs too but the heat does help with my painful knees.  So that's the lesser of two evils.

As for snazzy dressing.....ha ha, forget it.  It's a two pairs of socks day, and enough layers to look like the Michelin Man.

Duchess.  You're right.  Now I know that any episode of anxiety is finite I can ride it out with a level of equanimity. Just knowing it's not permanent does actually lessen its effect.  The worst part is always the associated stomach problems but as I've had digestive problems for over 65 years I have learned how to nurse myself back to health fairly quickly.

It's bitterly cold here, no snow yet.  Today I shall take down the Christmas decorations and have a good tidy up.

The good news is the days are already getting longer.......

I've just found your new thread and its exactly what I need.  I find it so easy to slip back into bad habits, but I feel so much better having sorted out a new hairdresser last year and found a great beauty salon who've helped me with my eyebrows.  Those two things have really made a difference with my confidence.

I'm another one who has always put everyone else first and made efforts for people who probably haven't reciprocated.  So now I'm starting to put me first with family and friends - trying to figure out which relationships deserve effort, so its an interesting time while I take a step back and see what emerges.

I was listening to an interest Mel Robbins podcast yesterday about 'eating to lose fat, prevent disease and feel better'.  There's a few things I'm going to follow, but I like how the speaker was understanding that we aren't going to give up our treats altogether, its just about being healthy in the main.  Being healthy is my number one now that I'm entering my 60s, but losing some weight/being fitter will be a bonus.

I had a bug before Christmas and it really put me under the weather, but following along on here will mean I won't give in.  Onwards and upwards

No snow for us down in Dorset today just lots of rain and yet more flooding - incredibly mild again too - was 13 degrees when I went out earlier - on Friday morning it was minus 5 - very weird weather.

Finally starting to feel a bit more back to normal after the flu-like virus that I had all over Christmas so hoping to start back on some gentle exercises from tomorrow - haven’t had the energy to do any recently. Christmas chocolate stash has either been used up or given away so I can concentrate on some healthy eating too.

Have a good week all 😀 xx
