Is seems that Swedes have "elevated" the concept of the chaz: https://theconversation.com/how-swedens-secondhand-only-shopping-mall-is-changing-retail-260459?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Latest%20from%20The%20Conversation%20for%20August%2030%202025%20-%203501835679&utm_content=Latest%20from%20The%20Conversation%20for%20August%2030%202025%20-%203501835679+CID_60b46bbc765e5b5e7094f351d239b461&utm_source=campaign_monitor_uk&utm_term=How%20Swedens%20secondhand%20only%20shopping%20mall%20is%20changing%20retail
I'm happy with our retail model, which reliant on volunteers but far from jumble sale. Part of the thrill is finding the gems.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I like how our set up works - whilst having a curated collection is all well & good, we have vinted etc for that. Or as I discovered, a plaintive call for help gets wonderful volunteers keeping an eye open on your behalf. Frankly those souls (to quote my Gran) "will go straight up".7

@Brie - if I see one I shall be sure to let you know!!
Once more praising the chazzer Gods today - I went out on Saturday afternoon which was beautifully warm and sunny...but turned wet and breezy in no time! As I was in the High Street I decided to track down a lightweight rain mac, the selection was few and far between and the cheapest lightweight offering was in Peacocks for £22 and was ideal ofor anyone wishing to look like a white tiger - I kid you not! Other stores had better quality items at prices north of £30. Knowing that I have loads at home (each chaz-secured for £1-3) I couldn't part with that kind of money as a cab home would have been cheaper. Luckily it didn't come to that.
I took a brisk walk in the sunshine this lunchtime, and yet again the weather turned. This time I was prepared with a rain mac which I'm sure cost £2. Preparation is everything! No man is worth crawling on this earth.

C_J said:I did also see a very lovely industrial looking shelf made of black metal rods with hooks beneath which would look great in my newly-rebuilt porch, but I thought it might be too wide to fit behind the porch door without catching, so I left it. I can’t stop thinking about it though so am going to measure the space and possibly pop back first thing on Monday morning (they are shut tomorrow) to see if it’s still there.14

Barbourne (Worcs) this morning.
£4. Can't trace the artist but the surname is Howard.
For Worcs people, I then went to the Pump House. It used to be quiet, friendly etc but it has been taken over and spoiled. I felt very sad about it and didn't stop.

I love that print. And £4 wouldn't pay for the frame let alone the picture in it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. The charity shop gods were very kind to me today...and continued to put strange European brands in my way.
from Save the children: A Fat Face T-shirt in dark blue with gold palm trees on, Off on holiday soon so it can come with me. Then I spotted the most gorgeous pair of sandals from Celtic & Co. Birkenstock-esque, no wear on them at all, pinky-plum colour. In my size, and £6.99. This is them on their website: https://www.celticandco.com/product/crossover-buckle-sandals?colour=489&size=75&utm_source=GoogleBase&utm_medium=ProductSearch&utm_campaign=GoogleBaseFeed1&glCountry=GB&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1503009577&gbraid=0AAAAAD_hgT9oBjnLlXC49-Ree5MHjV0FV&gclid=Cj0KCQjwzt_FBhCEARIsAJGFWVlo8OmkpriPZMn-VgolisvnDL0R08kfArnOz_PJEf7z8-RBBNsilzcaAhjbEALw_wcB
From Break: a pair of M&S Mom jeans, £5.99. And a gorgeous dress for holiday. So pleased with it - 100% cotton, from https://companiafantastica.com/en which is a Spanish brand. It fits beautifully and is white with a pattern on it in pink and green.
From Oxfam: a pair of Tog 24 walking trousers - cheap and cheerful for dog walking. And a pair of beautiful tailored smart navy trousers from a very fancy Danish brand: https://www.inwear.com/en-eu?srsltid=AfmBOoq0-JfAfYa3IxWPmY7Gpt2LrQtjLL9CGtLttYRfidWRHoQA_0_P
OBVIOUSLY they don't fit me (they are a 12, which was always optimistic!) so will sell on Vinted.
And finally, a necklace from Anna Lou of London ... it's my initial, and most pleasing!
Feeling very fortunate INDEED.8
