Three £2 coins added to pot this week, one from change in CS, two in change from pet shop. I get ever so excited when I’m given a £2 coin in change.
Well done Treasurequeen - starting to add up quite nicely now.  I've not tried the local pet shop for ages (hubby normally goes to one of those larger pet stores), so that's a reminder for me to pop in with the pooch and see what treats she may like.

It's been a busy couple of of weeks here in Cornwall.  Mum has had her 2nd hip replacement so my sisters and I have been looking after her.  That has meant less time out there shopping (which has been good for my purse) and also less time for my weekly bingo evenings.  So I have only managed to find 7 x £2 coins (and 2 of those came from my lovely hubby).  Off to bingo this evening so hopefully there will be some there that I can exchange - we will have to wait and see.  Happy saving everyone!

Ah post operative care - may it be rewarding as she regains her independence.

As for me, I found the bung for my piggy! (Some days, tidying up is not not as pointless as ripping up bindweed.)
He's currently 15 coins full, which mid year is a bit pathetic but I will try harder!
  • I know its half way through the year already but I'd love to join this :) great idea Im going to start collecting every coin I find! 🤞

Mum is doing really well - now 4 weeks post op as of yesterday and starting to move from two crutches to one!  Pain from the actual op decreasing steadily so less reliance on the paracetomol and that means she can get around a bit more which, of course, increases the strength in her muscles.  Most importantly - no hip joint pain  :).  Mum may be 85, but she is super determined to regain her mobility, independence and enjoy life - good for her!

Well done on finding piggy's bung - that will secure all those lovely £2 coins you've been collecting.  I'm sure you will have a nice fully piggy by the end of the year.

Ahh, the dreaded bindweed  :(.  I didn't have a garden full of that (thankfully), I had wild garlic which I spent 3 or more years eradicating by diligently digging up as many of the bulbs I could in each square metre of soil which was extremely tedious.  We had to map the garden out so that we didn't miss a square.  It's not until you dig really deeply do you find out just how deep the bulbs go (and how tiny they can be).  Lovely to look at in hedgerows but not an entire front garden of it!  A few years ago, hubby decided to plant some Lily of the Valley (only 4 small seeds) to see if they would grow - and they did and then they spread to the entire garden.  So, I'm now trying to get rid of them (not to mention ferns which are lovely in 1s or 2s, but not every single bit of spare wall or earth)!  I guess we all have our gardening issues.

Rousing congratulations to mum! I absolutely salute her determination & hope she achieves all she intends!

I wouldn’t dig All the Lily of the Valley out as (a) wedding flower market & (b) you never know when you’ll want to murder someone & yikes that plant is toxic. Frankly bindweed just a total pest with no redeeming features I can find. Woad I could scythe & sell to dyers!

Yes, it was the toxicity that makes me want to rid the garden of it - we have a dog and a cat and hadn't realised it was that toxic when we put the seeds in - nor that it would spread as well as it has.  Amazingly, I can't grow nice plants like Lupins, Delphiniums or Dhaleas in the garden - but that's a slug problem as it's slug central here  :(.  Even the sunflowers were beheaded by the little darlings overnight - and the stalks disappeared the following night.  And I can only dream of hostas

GreyQueen is clear on slugs - "show 'em Cold Steel" but I lack her stamina & so use dry crunchy bark chippings to protect little herbs. You nurse then from seed, expose them to the real world & then slugs come & devour the 'salad bar' you have planted for them...
