I've been looking after mum the past week so have been doing some shopping for her.  Thankfully Mr T self service has come up trumps 4 days out of the 7 that I popped in for bits and pieces for her.  In total, I managed to pot another 9 from Mr T alone  :).  Had one from bingo on Sunday as well - one that I've not had before that I can remember.  A Florence Nightingale one.  Very pretty design and now safely stored with the others in my amazing pot (which is holding together quite nicely!).  So, all in all, another £20 in the savings pot.

You are certainly doing very well there Treasurequeen.  Keep it going - it all adds up at the end of the year!

Hope you've all had a very good Easter and bank holiday break.  I've had a pretty good run lately with Mr T self service - a total of 14 lovely shiny newish £2 coins - so that was £28 added to the pot.  I've had two from my mum, one from the cafe at the local woods, one from the Post Office when I bought some stamps and an amazing 18 coins from bingo.  Not a bad collection after a month - a total of £72 which I can't quite believe.

And it's been a very busy month too.  Had a much need 5 day camping break in the amazing New Forest to get over the end of the financial year paperwork that needed completing for work (always glad to get that out of the way).  Hubby had the most awful cold which turned out to be flu and he almost got hospitalised with that one as he was so very ill with it but, given the right antibiotics (2 weeks worth), he managed to get over that one.  So I did pretty much all the dog walking with our spaniel who seems to be full of energy all day long.  Thankfully, she sleeps very well now!

Goodness knows what the rest of May has in store for me??  We will have to wait and see  :)

    Happy potting everyone.

  • Hello, Can I join please, I know it's late in the year to start but I figure it's better to start than not at all, I've already got a tin with a couple of £2 coins in already so hoping to add to them on a regular basis and I'll be using cash to pay for my food shopping in future so that I'll be getting cash rather than paying with my card which I tend to do now.

Three £2 coins added to pot this week, one from change in CS, two in change from pet shop. I get ever so excited when I’m given a £2 coin in change.

Good evening gardenfairylights.  Welcome to the challenge - it's never too late to start saving.  You are #8 this year.  I also use cash for all my shopping - allows me to keep a handles on how much I'm spending.  Good luck with finding all the £2 coins and do pop in and let us know how you are doing.
