  • So for all the newcomers - first of all a big welcome.  This is such an addictive challenge which you will thoroughly enjoy for the whole year.  Yes, there will be times when there doesn't seem to be any £2 coins (trust me, I've had those moments many times) but then they seem easy to find.

Bit about me - I'm an accountant during my spare time (run my own practice) and a finance officer during the day.  I'm a big fan of spending only what can be afforded so paying cash is my preferred option.  If there is no money left in my 'money bag', then I won't be spending any.

Where do I find mine?  Well, I'm super lucky in that I've been doing this challenge for quite a few years now so, those around me know that I save them.  Most of mine come from my twice weekly bingo evenings in our village.  Not only is it a nice evening to catch up with friends (and my husband gets to watch all his 'car' programmes on TV in peace :D ), the evening can be incredibly lucrative as, because they all know that I save them, I'm asked if I want to swap any that come in during the ticket purchases - as if I was going to refuse that opportunity!  My corner shop is also very good but has not had any of late.  As a cash spend person, going to the supermarket can be extremely useful.  Chatting to the cashiers just when I'm about to pay, I often drop in that I collect £2 coins and, if there are any in the till, I will often get one in my change.

Don't forget family and friends - I always have several £1 coins to do swaps with - hate being unprepared as you just never know when the next one will appear  :)

    Happy hunting
