Nsd#14. Not looking forward to the storm this weekend. Cold, wind and rain make me want to hibernate. I am so glad I don’t have any plans for this weekend. Sorry to hear so many turtles are poorly. It seems to be a constant barrage of germs at the moment.Mortgage free wannabee 2022 #828

Felt tired this morning, so no exercise done. Work went ok. Had makaton training at morning break, which I didn't know was happening. The lady was pleased with how my morning pupil is progressing, their speech is getting so much clearer 😊
Had a nap after school, then read more of my book. Should get the last 40 pages read before bed 😀
Grateful for my hard work paying off, chest x-ray booked for Monday, a napUse it up, wear it out

Hi all today I am grateful for deciding to sit out the storm(I'm in the south- so not too bad) at home, and let ds2 have the car to work. I have a very snotty cold and a lot of marking to do, so am just about to settle in to do just that.
I have managed about 15 nsd's so far, am getting paid Monday.
I hope everybody is safe where they are and don't try and brave the weather unnecessarily.

It's quite windy here too, but thankfully we only have a yellow warning in my area. We had a lots of rain already, though.
I can feel the wind, which is very distracting and I'm struggling to focus at work. The fact that in the flat below they started drilling non stop for the past hour just under my feet doesn't help either, I suppose. I need to focus on getting a few last things done for the week, and I don't really want to, but I can't drag them all the way to Monday. I might just break for lunch now, and then will probably rely on some deep focus music after lunch, which usually does the trick.
Today I am grateful that the worst of the storm will not reach us, and that payday is finally round the corner, after (what it feels like) 11 weeks of January.
Today is NSD #15!
Stay safe everyone!

The forecast wind didn't arrive until later than predicted. We have been upgraded to an amber warning & I can hear the wind howling around the house. We're cosy indoors with the stove lit, & by morning, things should be calmer. Hoping anyone in the storm zone remains free from damage & power cuts 🤞
Did yoga this morning, had to make myself do it, but was pleased I had afterwards. A good day at work. Drove to town afterwards to meet DS3 with his 2 big toolboxes, as he didn't want to leave them on site, whilst he's at college for the next 2 weeks. We then went to collect a table saw, just managed to squeeze it in the boot! Dropped him off at his friend's, then drove home slowly in the dark & rain.
Had a message to phone the doctors, the cardio doctor at the hospital has looked at my results & said the twinges I've been having, are t to do with my heart, so the local doctor has said for me to stop the tablets. So that's a positive thing 😊
Sat watching more of a series & did my knitting, with some chocolate & a pint of Snowball beside me 😋
Grateful that I managed to get home safely, good news that my heart is ok, a nice night & it's the weekend.Use it up, wear it out

An anxious start to yesterday. I waited for my appointment (changed to a phone appointment). The time came and went. I phoned several times before getting through. No appointment on the system but did have a Jan 26th appointment last year so may have found an old letter when hunting for contact details. After that I relaxed I put as much washing as possible out on the line. It got rained on in the early evening but the threatened winds did not appear (checked before going to bed) so I left it out. Today is cloudy but mostly fine (lots of rain for the next four days) so I'll put out the last few bits.
Spent most of the day tidying, gathering cardboard, rubbish and cans. Mrs Builder sent a a message to say a skip was being delivered (happy dance happy dance). It's outside the back gate (no idea if they had to negotiate with neighbours at the first house but it's here). Asked Mrs Builder how I should stack it and she said she'd come to do it today.
She turned up with 2 small helpers (5yo and 3yo). Her son was working, d-i-l was working (if she'd had any more time off they would have sacked her) so grandma got the boys from 6 am. They loved taking all the smaller pieces to put in the skip. They were going on to the office (they have i-pads/ something else I can't remember) to catch up on paperwork, then more work at home and they'd asked if they could go to the park. Mrs Builder asked if I would have more stuff to put in the skip or if she should have it collected. I'm worried about the neighbours complaining (they don't like me having stuff done because they have to put up with husbands in order to have things done) but she said 'let them complain'. It really isn't inconveniencing anyone so I'm keeping it. Mr Builder will be back to carry on the work on Monday 10th February so I can take my time shuffling and sorting.
I have read the hob instructions now.
I had a bath and washed my hair before bedtime (think my hair is a bit wild but haven't looked in a mirror). Rested by reading, playing games and watching 'reactions' plus found a great drama series. Food from stores but will do a proper order in the next few days (small orders are convenient but expensive and only a limited selection of products).
Grateful for progress, entertainment and not stressing my ankle/ knees/ thigh too much.

Great progress @grandmanerd and I agree with Mrs Builder, let the neighbours complain if they want to, you are doing nothing more than everyone does while having works done to the house.Slow start to the day today, took the dog out in the morning, then had a nice breakfast with OH then sat catching up with emails, surveys, MSE and reading some news.Rotated the mattress as it was kind of overdue, made the bed, then the monthly dog food delivery arrived, so now I need to arrange all the food in the pantry (I don’t have a pantry but I have a very thin and tall cupboard with tiny shelves where we store all tins, cans, bottles, jars, boxes of food until we need them, so I like to pretend I have a fancy pantry).
I still want to go for a long walk with the dog all the way to the river, as it’s a very nice and sunny day so far, and I feel I’d love to make the most of it.
then I’m planning to do a bit of cleaning, decluttering and organising, but we will see.
