Thanks everyone - will try and respond as best I can but it's been a Very Late Finish at work with 135 miles driven. I'm so very very tired that I'm almost punch pdrunk tired - you know when you don't quite know what you're doing and  coordinating speech and limbs is difficult !

Thank you for all your lovely comments - although at times ive felt very lonely in real life,  when I have needed them there  have always been my virtual friends, who  have been my biggest cheerleaders all the way  @rachmac3 @jwil @cara_ @Sun_Addict @Nintud (sadly missed) and bloody hell you lot and everyone else I've missed off that list haven't half pulled me through. Never underestimate the power of SM for support.

Ah sorry didn't mean to start a rumour, just that she'd had a lot happen in life and hasn't posted for a while. Their diary started about the same time as mine and I'd always read it.

Happy Tuesday everyone. I'm going to keep posting as I like the accountability plus I am terrified of going backwards as I absolutely can't afford for that to happen again. Hopefully that fear will keep me on my toes and on top of the budget.

Meanwhile, despite being away, DH has been totally biten by debt busting bug and is very keen to tackle the mortgage and get that gone early too. I have persuaded him that we need a fully funded emergency fund first - slight difference of opinion on how big this should be (he thought 10k, I thought 15k) and whilst we have compromised on 12k I think we all know it'll end up being 15k 😉😆. 

So I am in full Scrooge Mode (too early for Christmas references???) and the budget remains firmly in place with previous debt payment amounts and anything leftover being squirreled away into various pots. I have however created a new pot (love a new pot) called the Slush Fund. This is for those pesky unexpected things that pop up trying to derail the budget (school.trips and photos I'm looking at you) It'll be topped up monthly as needed - an emergency fund for the real emergency fund if you see what I mean. Maybe should have called it the Spanish Inquisition Pot (as nobody expects the Spanish inquisition!!) 

I did take the car for a wash today funded from the car/petrol pot and got some cheap winter bedding plants and spring bulbs for the front garden as it was looking rather unloved. £11.50 spent but gave me a bit of joy today when I'd tidied the (real garden) pots up.
