@sqwiffy we are slightly bonkers so the train does go on detours but a more supportive bunch of people you’re unlikely to meet. Everyone here recognises the impact of clutter, physical and mental on overall health and wellbeing and that sometimes, even with the best intentions, life gets in the way and we get detailed. The good news is the EDT is always ready to slow down so new passengers can entrain. As was said earlier special thanks to Mrs SD who makes sure no one is left behind or forgotten.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Siebrie said:@sqwiffy We are all decluttering: stuff, relationships, tasks and chores, sentiments, aspirations, fantasy-selfs, inheritences, .... So, the discussions go all over the board (or train
). I feel inspired by everyone who is still determined to make a better, more manageable life for themselves despite what else is going on in their lives, whether it be non-co-operative partners or children, health problems, low energy, too many tasks that need to be done first, mental problems, major life events (whether fun or draining), etc.
A tip for you: if you are not using an item and it is blocking you from enjoying your life, it is already in landfill, just in the satellite location at 'your home'.

Muddy, are you making a frog?
keep at it, I think you are doing a fantastic job. I find swearing at craft projects makes them buck their ideas up no end!
Weenancy, my heart hurts for you. I mean it when I say I would come to help you. Just whistle. You know that you are too nice to those people who live in your house. Could you ask the Mormon missionaries for more help, carrying stuff about? Remember you do a fantastic job, dealing with everything in a responsible manner and that is something to be proud of. Also get your nose in a good book and ignore the news today.
I am very heartened to hear that Mr F is showing signs of being a little better.xx
Siebrie, very nicely put.
Mr V has eaten a frog and taken his outside Christmas tree down, not away but down. Putting it away is for another day. Currently it is in my shed, drying.
I just want to say, my house isn't minimalistic. I could de clutter more, I have plenty of stuff that I don't actually need but I am happy with where I am at with it. I do have space and the house is easy to keep tidy and to clean.Thinking about it I suppose I have let quite a lot of stuff go since 1st January and I suppose I will continue to find stuff to go. It's ingrained now. Emptying my MIL's house and then my Mothers house has had a big influence on me. All that stuff they kept for Justin. Shops can keep my Justin stuff should ever I need it.
Mr V has just been to collect another free chair for me, I can't help myself.I will spend hours revamping it and keep it a while , you know the rest.
My neighbour came round last night, their dog had managed to sit on her knitting and pull all the stitches off the needle. I will ask her if I can post some photos of her knitting progress.
I have started a new charity bag with a glass mug with a panda face that no one likes to drink from.

3 tiny chicken breasts decluttered from the freezer for our dinner. OH said "with chips!" but I was planning on courgette - might need to do a bit of both as we have toooo many chips in the freezer.
And need to deal with a couple of financial frogs, well more like well marinated toads but hopefully they won't take too much chewing.

Good to see so many of you making such strides. Managed to sort another half dozen things for the charity box. Was looking for a document for DS. I knew which box it was in, but said box was absolutely jammed full of files and paperwork in absolutely no order. I pulled on my big girl’s pants and emptied it onto the floor. Found the document pretty quickly, but stuck with it and now said box is only half full of papers filed in correct files and I have half a black bag ready for burning. Very satisfied with that. It doesn’t look much in the grand scheme of things, but I know I’ve done it so go me👏22

Sorry meant to say glad you decided to stick around @vulpix. Thread wouldn’t be the same without you. You put it so well when you said you “are happy where you’re at with it”. That’s all any of us can ask. We all have different levels of possessions, but if you’re happy then great. Doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. However if stuff makes you unhappy then that’s when it’s time to do something about it. That’s what I love about this thread. There’s so much advice and tips, but no judgment. Just support and care because we all know what excess stuff can do to your MH. Keep up the good work👍22

I’ve been on a LOT of work calls today where I need to listen and sometimes participate but more to support those hosting, in case there are questions. I’ve been able to work through my FB posts and delete any irrelevant all the way back to summer 2016 (I want to save the best and then either just look at memories each day, or disable for now. I’ve also shredded a large black bin bag of paperwork which I’ve been collecting for the best part of 5 years.Feels good to be free of clutter xMortgage (MFD 04/2053) (Jan 25) £238,983.71. Count me in. I shall aspire to decluttering 2025 items because I like a challenge!
We are going to end up on that Tv show with Stacy Solomon if we carry on collecting and hoarding…
In the last week or so I have decluttered:
3 x chipped crockery items (bin)5 x fashion magazines from 10 years ago (recycling)
1 x cut glass decorative bowl, 1 novelty light, 1 art book, 1 jigsaw, 1 doorstop, 1 palette tin, 1 lampshade (CS)
1 x decorative lantern (exiled to the garage/man cave)
1 x kids coat (sold on Vinted)
17 items. A fair start, but will need to maintain momentum. That is where I struggle.23
