Daisy your post is excellent.
The only thing I would add which might be of help is that following watching some Decluttering podcasts/ Utube videos can be very helpful and motivating.
There are so many ways to approach it and the enormity of the task can be overwhelming. Seeing others succeed is motivating. Like being on here, plus on here we give lots of love and support and cheering!!

Hi Mrs SD can I please join in with this year's decluttering? I failed badly on last year's thread but I'm hoping to be more proactive this year. I still have packing boxes to unpack from the move over a year ago...lol
I'll pop up more concise details when I've had a chance to get my head together after this Christmas period is over.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Great post @daisy_1571. Covers about everything I feel too.
May I add, get a roll of cheap masking tape and a permanent marker pen. I have found it invaluable for making temporary labels. My ex made me feel I had to get everything right first time; as a result I spent so long trying to figure out the right size box for everything before I ever got round to sorting. 😞
Now, knowing I can either move the label or write a new one for a box I'm liberated. 🤣🤣
The masking tape is also great for freezer labels - cheap as chips and easy to remove when required.
I find letting go of things hard, the logical bit of me says let go but there's a part of me that wants to hold onto the memory and also a large part of me that wants to collect and complete sets of things! I really want to get back to all my hobbies and try new things. So, I take it slowly and get myself to the place where I'm happy with what's going, and it is slow going, but I know that if I don't do that I will feel regret when I've got rid of some things and guilt when I go out and replace them. The human brain is a bizarre place, at least mine is. 🤣 DxAiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Happy new year!
I do hope everyone stays safe this evening, some parts of the uk are due for a wild evening it seems! I am hoping for a quiet, calm evening that lasts across the next 12 months!!!I have decided to aim for 2025 items to declutter. Never been specific before, so just maybe this will help focus the mindAnd its only 6 items a day, surely I can do that!!!!♥️ ♥️ ♥️🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸Decluttering 2025 So far 403 / 2025

I have changed my mind counting isn't something I am going to keep up with!
Think it will have to be work round the house instead / by category. I have been supercharged today and have taken three 'bag for life' bags of donations and one bag worth of non donation worthy items gone in the bin. I have ruthlessly done my clothes, night wear, socks, gym wear, accessories and make-up. These accounted for about two of the bags. These are not problem areas really for me, as fairly minimalist these days in those areas as am now about five years in to only buying either second hand or from ethical firms (the latter of which is expensive) but it is surprising how things build up, as first big clear out of these in a long while. I did the box of items I had put away after doing Project 333 as well. Some of it was easy as the last of anything I had that was synthetic or 'non natural' materials, which I never reach for anymore.
The third bag had a few new things in from Christmas including a new cushion, received but we won't use, and four books recently read. Feeling really proud!21 -
Thank you , @mrssd for my medal. I tried hard to get to 366, and I will set a target of 365 again for 2025. Reading your history of the TLC Carriage I was reminded of the days of the Charabanc! So much has been decluttered since then.My aim for 2025 is to stop stuff coming in , especially from the CS. I don’t need to buy clothes at all, nor soap . DH and I use the same unperfumed body wash and moisture cream, so less clutter in the bathroom. I have started sorting the boxes of postcards and birthday cards we’ve been sent but more needs to be done. Jewelry is another option and the garage is nowhere near as lovely as yours, MrsSD.@daisy_1571, your post is absolutely brilliant and inspirational, and will ring many bells with us all. The paragraph that hit me most is the Sunk Cost issue. I must repeat, The Thing Doesn’t Care……..
So , joyful decluttering in 2025, and love to you all, declutterati chums. X19
