2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

I managed to read all the posts on the old thread but still have pages on here to get through.
MrsSD - one of the reasons Dd gave for not visiting her Ds for Christmas was sleeping on an air bed for 1 night - she is under 50 for goodness sake.
@charlies_tribe - so sad to lose a pet.
I lost count of items decluttered so will start again in 2025.
Re Christmas crafts - Dd gave me an angel to finish - needed hair and a face - didn't get done.
Items coming in at Christmas - very few - Ds gave us a hamper - a lot of that went to SA food bank.
I have 2 new pairs of thick warm socks - nothing similar to throw out so a plus two.
Other items have been to eat so don't count. I was given a pack of 6 walnut whi.. today - they will soon go.
Re new year superstitions - I will be sweeping, cleaning and wiping as usual tomorrow in my efforts of upkeep in the house.

@Florenceem I was 60 last birthday & am happy to sleep on an airbed when visiting either of my sons!

Floss - yes she was just stroppy and being a martyr - Christmas on her own.
I am up to page 5 now.
I am struggling to concentrate on anything at the moment - Mr F is such a worry. The Dr at A & E asked him questions like - do you know where you are, the date etc and he passed. However I feel there is something wrong - earlier today - he couldn't do a simple sum in his head - this is a man who was a whizz at maths.
Mr F's printer has to leave the building - it got paper jammed and he can't sort it - it is a very old printer. I have ordered a new one - just hope it arrives soon as I print labels for V - my friend printed some for me at SA this morning.
I thought 2023 was a bad year with Mr F being in hospital for nearly 3 months but 2024 hasn't been great. Extended family members with cancer and Mr F having 6 courses of antibiotics in 6 weeks and he still has a swollen and red leg.
I really need a good declutter this year but haven't thought yet about my target.
I took a trolley and bag full of stuff to the charity shop this morning. I have a suitcase full of clothes ready to go to the charity shop on Thursday.
I haven't brought any items in for V since December 23rd - items have gone out - 10 sales one day and 8 the next so a win. I have 11 items to wrap but I won't be able to post them until Friday as no one at SA until then. I suppose I could have a try at printing them myself as I have an office key.

Can I join please?
Decluttering has been on my To Do list for years (literally), with slow to no progress so far. 2025 will be different with some extra accountability...20 -
We started to declutter later this year..... It's been absolutely shocking. I think we have down 50% of the easy stuff. The rest really requires mental energy or a complete mental rewire 🤣
I'm just going to simply question each possession over time and try and see it in a new light. I really want to eradicate guilt and shame from my life as much as possible.
Happy new years to everyone and their loved ones. Me, hubs and 10 fluffs (nothing beats a fluff absolutely comatose from a heated bed 😂😂😂) are comfy cosy with a film on. It's actual bliss. X21 -

Checked in to our new thread for 2025 and there were already 8 pages to read. Good to see some new posters. I will be forced to put some boxes away unsorted so as to make space for rewiring. These are the boxes of photos and albums which have remained unsorted despite getting rid of so many other things last year. I peeped in loft last week and saw a row of open shelving all down one side. I can fit those boxes, my 4 Christmas boxes and suitcases on those shelves. I was supposed to get a new gate leg table on 24 December but it has been delayed. If it would warm up a bit I could get on with tidying pots all over the garden.
A peaceful and happy new year to everyone.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

kayjay1809 - I looked at my hall way - what a mess but after a few days of working at it - it is clear. Now to keep it that way!
I haven't been up in the loft for years - Mr F wouldn't be safe climbing up in to it. I am not sure if I want to attempt it - may be a job for Dgs J. If he pops round and gets one bag/box down each time - it will be manageable. The idea will be to only put back anything that we absolutely need to keep. So J could carry that back up when he next goes up in the loft.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Happy New Year!
Thank you Florenceem.
Can't believe there's 8 pages on here already. Good to see old and new (I was going to write faces, but I suppose it's just names, but sometimes I can imagine the faces behind the names).
DD1, he partner and the grandchildren arrived about 3, just as DH was starting the 'party food' tea. So they stayed until about half 8 and had food and I got to enjoy some baby cuddles, can't believe he's 4 weeks old already.
This evening I've sat and gone through the accounts, looked at things we don't need to pay or could be lower. There isn't much but saved £9 a month just on cancelling Now and them offering a discount. I wish Netflix offered a discount as easily. Still lots to look at.
2025 aim will be 2025 items out. This year we would like to tackle the loft and shed 1 (a very large shed) and shed 2 (a bit smaller). We need to carry on sorting through the house too as there's still way to much everywhere. DH has said the loft is that full he's not sure how he's going to get the christmas boxes back in and I added a little more to it this year, okay a big bit, a light up Labrador wearing a santa hat, it was to cute to resist, I didn't think about storage. And an inflatable Grinshill.
We need a new roof quickly too, we had quotes at the end of last year so we know how much its going to be, I just need to get it booked in before we have any more damage. It looks like Charlie Buckeys roof (from Charlie and the chocolate factory) and we've already had a piece of plaster board drop down on the landing where it had got too wet, currently has a floor board screwed over it 🙈
Right I have a child who wouldn't eat party food now hungry so I better go see what else they'll eat. See you all in 2025!LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554
