Another good day here. DH feeling a bit better and ate a proper meal today, good sign.
Dinner from fridge and freezer.Moved the bedside cabinet from under the bedroom window to the side of the bed, you should have seen the cobwebs!! Used mini hoover as it can get in all the fiddly places so lots of decluttering of dirt.
Put the broken shelf out for recycling.
Sold 2 more items today as well. So bit of packaging decluttered too.Packed a box of bits to go to mum, just got to pad the top and that can go as well.
Bought last Christmas present today, now all done. Just got to wrap some and bag all the ones for mums carers. Br glad when they’ve gone and I can have my side table back.
Have a good night all, sleep tight xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

I am visiting my mum. She lives half the year in the south of France. I flew down yesterday to help her with the drive back. She went out this morning so I cleaned the kitchen and chucked away as much as I could and then this afternoon we had a trip out to the tip with her campervan full of very dusty builders rubbish. I managed quite well with my franglais and the tip man seemed nice. Its as cold here as in the UK but she doesn’t have any heating upstairs so I am sleeping with my hat and fleece over my nightie. It’s not too bad once the bed has warmed up but it was pretty cold getting up this morning. Hopefully we will start the journey back on Saturday but you never know what will happen.15

I declutterred some blood today with a blood test, I think the first time ever I walked into a empty waiting room (they stopped walk in and take a ticket and have gone back to appointment) I was given someone's carpark ticket which is karma from handing mine to someone last time.I then declutterred some sanity taking a elderly friend to Tesco for a new mobile and a change of supplier, it was almost worth it for the look on the extremely helpful assistants' face when my friend asked what would happen if she died before the contract ended (she's 88). I was annoyed as I wanted to email the store to give positive feedback on the woman who after two hours was still smiling and so patient but could only find the process to complain! Unfortunately we will need to go back as we couldn't get the PAC code to carry her number over, I had to call her supplier from her home to sort out her current 'mess'!
whilst rearranging my carboot to fit in her Walker I found a bag with two pairs of shoes meant for the charity shop 🙄 I was far too cocky when I said everything had been dropped off 😕. I volunteering Friday and Saturday but my sister has been delayed a week so I'll get back to it Sunday.
Small frog completed, getting to speak to someone other than a computer was painful and the young guy I did finally speak to was so miserable obviously he hasn't been trained that the customer can hear you smile on the phone 😁 so many authentication questions i don't think I've been asked that many before, I was waiting to be asked my inside leg measurement and bra size as we were running out of questions!Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin15 -
@Brambling re: giving positive feedback for good service. I think most retailers deal with customer issues by phone nowadays. If you google "Tesco" and the name of the town it's in that should bring up the store's phone number, usually begins 0345.
Although if you're going back in anyway just ask for a manager. You might not get the store manager but a duty manager will be delighted to receive staff praise on someone's behalf and should reward them accordingly. I'm sure it will make the staff member's day to be recognised.13 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday was dull & overcast with a high of 4°C (feeling like 1°C) & a low of -1°C Wrote a medium sized shopping list as DH & DSis have gone to MrS. I am still waiting for my Freedom Pass 😞 Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow as unfortunately that is when my my 60+ Oyster runs out 😬 I had a call from our friend A - waiting for us in a pub as we were supposed to be meeting him & his wife J for drinks - but due to a lack of communication between A & DH, we thought it had been cancelled 🙊 We will try again in the New Year. DH & DSis are back from shopping & I have put everything away. DH has set up our new landline phones & I have spent the last 30 minutes adding contacts. Very tedious 😑 Received an email from the Passport Office - my application has been approved 🥳 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & chopped tomatoes 🤤 Wudupa

Green_hopeful, I was hoping that you were going to say that the South of France was warmer than here ☹️ Fingers crossed that you don’t get a chill 🤞
Brambling, loved This “I declutterred some blood today with a blood test, I think the first time ever I walked into a empty waiting room (they stopped walk in and take a ticket and have gone back to appointment) I was given someone's carpark ticket which is karma from handing mine to someone last time.” ☺️ especially the underlined part. What a lovely thing to do 🥹😇 Just wondering if you kept a straight face at your elderly friend’s question 🧐 This “Small frog completed, getting to speak to someone other than a computer was painful and the young guy I did finally speak to was so miserable obviously he hasn't been trained that the customer can hear you smile on the phone 😁 so many authentication questions i don't think I've been asked that many before, I was waiting to be asked my inside leg measurement and bra size as we were running out of questions!” had me in fits of giggles 🤭 although I would probably have been very annoyed 😒
regnbue great idea 👏

I dropped off a very heavy donation bag yesterday to a local charity shop. We tried a new pub for a late lunch but they were holding a wake there at the time! We had to get the bus and go into Southend to a restaurant there. We then met our friends at the theatre to see three comedians.
I managed to hurt my little toe afterwards so I had to cancel my physio session today. I am supposed to go for dinner tonight so I might have to call a taxi there and back.
I am supposed to go out to a class, meet someone at a library event and go for dinner tomorrow to so I might have to get taxis too! I have my dog in at the kennel so it doesn't make sense for me to cancel everything. The trip into London on Sunday will have to be cancelled, however.
I ended up recluttering (is that a word?) as I bought some jumpers in the charity shop yesterday.

Good evening chums ,golly that wind has been more than a bit nippy for the past couple of days. Sun shone today, and I got a small line of washing out which DD brought in a little while ago and its pretty well damp dry so it will finish off on the airer.
DD wentoff to Aquasise at the pool in Ryde this morning, and she said the new instructor was pretty demanding to the ladies but she still managed a good dozen lengths afterwards so it can't be too bad .
When I think its only about 4 months since she was hobbling around on a stick I'm so pleased with her progress
Well I've just decluttered an obscene amount of cash on a new phone and laptop, from John Lewis as their Black Friday sale is on .as my previous MacAir laptop is almost 12 years old, and is just starting to show its age
I decided that I would go mad and treat myself, it will with luck see me out
, and then my eldest DD said for goodness sake Mum you need a better phone , which is true, as this one is about 7 years old and it too is getting a bit past its best, so I hummed and harred a bit, and eldest DD kept texting me and saying just go for it.
In then end I did, laptop arrives tomorrow with new phone ,as I'm collecting it from the local little post office as its free click and collect. about the only thing that is
I know both needed replacing but I kept hanging on thinking perhaps its just me thats slowing down not the gadgets
DGS Jack is coming down at the end of next week for my son-in-laws birthday so I will leave it to him to do the changeover stuff as he is very good with Apple stuff and a bit of a techy wizard
Only thankfully have a few more odds and ends to buy, and then during next week its the gerat wrapping up of things
so it will all be done and sorted by the end of the month.
I too think of the poor folk who are sleeping rough when its cold .I used to do a bit of work for the homeless a few years ago in Kent, and its not just the big cities where folk are sleeping out. Even in the supposed affluent south there is homelessness
In the Medway we had a good few ex servicemen in that position
I hope everyone is all ok and the snow isn't causing too much disruption for our friends in the north I know it said on the wireless this morning that Yorkshire was struggling with the roads
Just keep warm and safe chums

If we hadn’t seen some sunshine, I’m thinking it would have been icy cold again but felt warmer today.A few years ago, we had a homeless people shelter in a remodelled double decker bus, think it WAS called the Bus Shelter. I made up a Christmas gift for each of their guests, 18 men and 3 ladies. Was just a parcel containing things a homeless person might need plus a nice something too. For the ladies I added some perfume and make up, for the men aftershave plus everyone got sweeties too. And a handmade, handwritten card, just so they knew someone was really thinking of them and counting her blessings a LOT.DH is on the mend, still poorly but not feeling so rough.
Dinner was freezer.
Dealt with letters immediately today: read, scanned, filed, shredded. Yay me.Otherwise a quiet day here.Hope everyone is looking forward to a good weekend, sleep tight, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Evening all - a very cold day here. Yesterday there was some snow but didn't last long. Short trip out to take children to school and get a few bits and so icy I decided not to go to my pre-diabetes class as no point in taking risks. Had a quiet day in. I did tackle the overflowing shower drain which was not surprisingly filled with long hair and rather revolting. I got drain cleaner and used most of it with two goes at shower drain. The rest went down the sinks. The bathroom still has carpet until I get round to that room and it had been soaked through after DGD4's last showers. Several towels soaked up most of the water but then I had a load to wash.
Just got back in in time for parcel re-delivery that I missed yesterday. Postie almost broke his neck on my icy drive. Sox has been sitting in an empty wooden box in my hall but is now trying to get into a freezer shopping bag that is there as well.
1155 Two Bags of Joy dropped off at Mr D and bacon roll decluttered
1156 Bought some Euros for trip on 4 December
1157 Shower plug hole cleaned
1158 More Christmas gifts wrapped
No plans for the weekend - one DGD has birthday tomorrow but not sure if we will see her over the weekend.
