Good grief Mrs sd are your slippers really 45 year old ? Do you only wear them on Slipper Day every 23rd October lol. I go through a pair probably every year on average?

I went to declutter a pint of blood but my vein had a shy fit and they very, very slightly bruised me adjusting the needle - it didn't really hurt, and there's the tiniest little yellow patch, but it was enough to trigger the healing process - so they got about a level teaspoonworth before it stopped again. Luckily as that was just the preliminary amount for testing not the proper pint bit I can go back in three weeks to try.
I suggested the other arm but they're not allowed to do that any more. One strike and you're out.
Got my soft plastics out at the weekend, which I'm pleased about - I usually shop after work so don't have them on me when at the supermarket and they stack up.
Other than that it's still one in one out - ins include pyjamas (secondhand), bulb planter (secondhand) as I've bought hyacinth bulbs for winter colour indoors and growing them in teacups was not working (they were pushing themselves out as the roots grew). A new notebook I absolutely do not need, a vintage cinzano glass which I couldn't resist (secondhand and gloriously kitsch) and a refillable bottle for shampoo to save on plastic waste (now I just have to remember to take it back and refill it). Steady flow of secondhand books and ebooks in both directions.
Out - broken Hello Kitty glass (my go to glass for taking on holiday - it fell out of a split paper bag and smashed at Morden station. People were lovely about helping me pick stuff up, and the cleaner came running with a dustpan, so that's something). Underwear (this always seems to go all at the same time), hideous sandals my stepmother bought as a going on holiday present (she loves shopping for holidays but we have very different taste), dress gifted by an aunt which was actually quite nice if I and it had been remotely similar shapes - but being short the waist was at my hips and whatever my size (I've been from 7 stone 6 to 11 stone 8 in my time) the one constant feature was the generosity of my hips.
Also posting my old phone off to BHF via Ydel tomorrow so they can get some pennies for it.Fashion on the Ration 2026 - 66 coupons remaining

I have a note in my dental records that I'm a nervous patient (thanks to the school dentist I think!) and one which warns that I have low blood pressure, I've never passed out at the dentist but laying flat can make be dizzy when I stand up and they did have to repair broken front teeth after I 'performed' at home getting out of bed too quickly, passed out and 'kissed' the radiator 🫣 however unlike my niece I don't need sedation for treatment, I just get really tense and have to be told to breathe.
The plan for this afternoon was to go through my too large collection of crafting / hobby books which are all stored in the small bedroom and not on the book shelves (no room) I got side tracked! And ended up reading, looking for ideas and organising then in subject order. No book was put in the bag for Petworth except my one and only gardening book, which wasn't the plan. Yes, but it still doesn’t allow me to print anything. I even tried booking a collection using the tracking, which I could do but still without printing the label.Floss said:@suzeesu2000 did you try the tracking code thing?Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

I didn't sleep well last night as I was cold. So decided this was the day to get the winter duvet washed. (There are no launderettes near me to take it to, and my asthma lungs don't do well with dry cleaning chemicals.)
Inspired by Dizzycap and babyface, I used the new washing machines outside Morries. Not as exciting as babyface's machines, as they didn't talk to me
but in went the duvet and out went £11. Home to reset the boil load in the home washing machine, and walk dog before returning.
I was planning to use the dryer and have brunch at Morries cafe while I waited, but the dryer wasn't an option. Weird, as the machine is there and wasn't being used. Oh well, it's a sunny and breezy day, so it should dry on the line.
Off home to put the duvet on the line, and the ladder fell across the back door so blocked me from getting back in!
Tried phoning younger son, but his phone didn't wake him. Considered phoning Elder Son to come home from work, but he's not that close, so I'd be sitting in the cold in the garden for at least 20 minutes...
Luckily, the back door wasn't pushed all the way closed, so I managed to get my hand in far enough to get the back door keys out without knocking the microwave off the worktop
! Unlocked the back and side gates, used my front door key to get in. Phew!
Checked younger son was all right as he'd not answered his phone. He's fine.
Sent Elder Son a photo of the ladder with e message saying it needs to be moved!
This means he needs to declutter. It used to be in the lobby, but he's got a massive tool box there taking up all the room. So the ladder moved to the shed, which is also full of his stuff. And has a leaky roof, that I can't fix.
It's a funny story, but it could have been a lot worse! If I didn't keep my house keys on me, I'd have had no option but to phone Elder Son. And if I hadn't had my phone, I'm really not sure what I'd have done.
Anyway, the landing looks a lot bigger and brighter without my winter duvet on the banister!12
