@Brie thanks for the offer of a helping hand at the dentist 😂 DH thinks it's so weird that I hate the dentist but can happily go and observe quite intense surgical procedures at work!
@SpikyHedgehog sounds like an adventure to get the duvet freshened up. Really need to wash ours at some point soon 😐
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger thank you for the gold stars, will add them to the signature with pride 🥲🫡 I think I'm having a bit of a reverse mid-life crisis; rather than wanting to speed up and relive my "youth", I'm actually embracing the slower side of life. I've recently really got back into cross stitching (only 1 project at a time, with plans for all of them so not adding "clutter"), have read quite a lot so far this year, made chutney for the first time ever using all the tomatoes that DH grew (despite him being very adverse to eating them) and re-starting my sourdough starter again. I've even asked for a knitting kit for Christmas because that's another useful hobby I can take up!
On the decluttering front, I've kept count of the little things I've been doing over the last few months and it looks like I've met my 365 item target for the year 🥳 Still a lot more to go and we'll get there eventually. I've managed 2 loads of washing today, just need to get them put away and I want to tackle the kitchen this weekend and get it a little more organised.

omg spiky what fun! Reminds me of an incident from Back In Tge Olden Days.
I went out back garden and heard the inside hefty floor bolt falling out its catch and into the receiving hole in the floor. I was outside with only a fairly see-through hip length shirt, I used to sleep in, and my pants. I had to hide virtually inside the front garden hedge until my boyfriend arrived, luckily he was due in about half an hour and it was summer. He knocked neighbours doors, one was in and he used their phone to check my grandparents were in and had a key. I didn't know these neighbours well, they were ancient to my 17 year old self. They were very kind though but I had a very uncomfortable hour in their front room, in the lady's dressing gown !!!! making polite conversation, terriblly aware of my unfettered boots while poor boyfriend got back on his push bike and cycled to my grandmas (probably more than half way back to his house) for the spare front door keys and cycled back!
Face is red again just thinking about it 😆 🤣 hopefully I'll never get caught in a predicament like that again - at 17 I could get away with it, at 59 NOBODY wants me inside their dressing gown in my scanties 😆 🤣 talk about frightening the horses!! 😆 🤣
Anyway glad yours ended well too and if it ends up with some enforced ds decluttering then all is definitely well that ended well

Oh @daisy_1571 your tale reminds me of being in my early 20s and my neighbours had to call the fire service one Sunday morning. They had a large gas canister outside the back of their house which had caught alight. The houses on both side of them had to evacuated whilst it was brought under control so Sunday morning saw me stood in the street in a satin strappy nightie, a waist length black wooly cardi and my work shoes very aware that I mustn’t bend too far as I was knickerless!!It was very chilly annd breezy and I swore at that point that I was only wearing long leg pjs thereafter!!✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Just checked and she was on earlier today but that was her first comment since I think July. I am assuming things have not been going well or she was doing a bit of a digital detox.Chieveley said:Haven't seen Florencem lately? Hope everything is ok. Can't remember where to check when she was last online.

@SpikyHedgehog i got trapped in our cupboard under the stairs by a mattress that was propped up in the kitchen. I couldn’t get out but youngest son aged 13 was watching tv in the next room. I yelled and yelled and yelled but he didn’t hear so i turned the electricity off. That got his attention. But if I had been on my own I would have been stuck until someone noticed i was missing.3
