Another 25 emails gone, so down to just 200 now 😂
Book finished and ready to leave - will probably take it to the village book exchange tomorrow so it doesn’t hang around. Must be firm with self and not bring any more home as I have plenty plus a couple on order at the library.
A slow day yesterday and all I achieved was to make an even bigger mess. So today’s priority is to finish some of the things I started this week before attempting anything else.12 -
another bag ready to go to the Charity shop next Wednesday when I go to Knit and Natter. working my way through things I haven't used for at least 6 months so they can go

Well, would you look who is back!
The internet chap has been and sorted us out this morning.
Hugs and kisses as appropriate and belated Birthday wishes too. xxx
Day 8 in the house, we like it, we have no regrets about moving. Of course there was drama and mild peril on moving day, but we are here, in a complete mess but here.
At risk of outing somebody, the house is MINGING, much worse than expected. With the help of DD1 the upstairs was completely bleached. The mouldy and rusty blinds and minging bathroom things left behind have all gone to the tip. I have spent this week getting the bedrooms organised. All our clothes put away in the freshly bleached built in wardrobes. The kitchen has never been cleaned since it was installed I think. I have been cleaning the cooker ( top only ) for 2 days, still not clean. Thankfully she took the fridge with her.
As moving day ended up being like a carry on film The dining room is stuffed with the contents of the sheds, random furniture and goodness knows what else. When I have finished scrubbing the kitchen that is my next task to sort that out.
So the sitting room is calm, the upstairs is calm. The hall has an oak door and a massive tool chest in it plus some drawers that Mr V has renovated which are for the dining room when we can get in it.
As well as a car full for the tip I have sold the storage bench that I renovated, given away some mid century drawers that I CBA to renovate and given away a left behind blanket chest and ceiling pulley airer thing. Another ceiling thing being collected next week. For the chazzer some decent, washed net curtains ( not mine) a couple of hall runners, two pairs of curtains and a black bag of cushions, none mine. Oh, I sent two cushions that I made to the good chazzer, they had been on the storage bench.
We went to Oxford yesterday to meet the new baby. All's well. He still looks like he's had a good holiday after his jaundice.
Dil is doing really well.
DD1 is going down today to go to the rugby with DS and DGS 1 at Wembly. She is at a wedding next weekend. I have got her pencilled in to do some decorating after that! My time up ladders is over.
We are hopefully picking up a second hand fridge today, ooo the excitement.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday is a very overcast & dark day - even with the curtains open I have had to put the lr light on 😥 Forecast high 12°C, low 7°C & a chilly breeze making it feel 4° colder 🥶 Forgot to mention that DH’s DSis, DBiL & their daughter & her husband came back from their hot & sunny holiday in *Barbados so were really shocked by the drop in temperature 😔 DSis & I watched Googlebox last night & found out that Tess & Claudia are leaving SCD 😞 Sad to say that if the current ‘male favourite’ is hired as one of the replacements then I will definitely not be watching SCD next year (as he irritates me no end). I am all settled with my cuppa & will start the cheerleading from Thursday’s posts:
SpikyHedgehog, I was enjoying reading about your gardening with toddlers & thinking what a wonderful thing to do 😊 then got to This “But i don't know where the other 6 or so went! Which is mildly irritating as I was planning to use the leftover bulbs and compost at the wellbeing cafe which is after toddler group, so other people could take home pots of bulbs” & thought it was more than “mildly irritating” 😠 especially as I don’t get the impression that anyone asked if they could have the pots 😢 I hope the rain stopped long enough for you to drop off the 2 bags of bits’n’pieces from your car 🤞 Nice to know that the dog is helping with the decluttering 🙊 Well done on reviving the fountain pen 👏 Perhaps you could hint to your sons that a pen tray would be a lovely Christmas present for you 😉 Then your fountain pens could ‘live’ in the office 🙂
Chieveley, I think Florenceem is taking a bit of a break from being online + she is always really busy.
Excellent work oceanspirit 👏
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
daisy_1571, apologies for the confusion as the number 1980 refers to my decluttering number 😉 I just wish they had been 45 years old 😉 Even though I bought the slippers from M&S, the quality left much to be desired & I think they were only about a year old & not worn through the summer months ☹️
suzeesu2000, nothing wrong with a “quiet day” 😊 & how lovely to spend time with your niece working on the family tree 🥹
Floss, I wish my slippers had lasted 3 years 😞
Lovely to see you diminua 👋 Such a shame about This “ went to declutter a pint of blood but my vein had a shy fit and they very, very slightly bruised me adjusting the needle - it didn't really hurt, and there's the tiniest little yellow patch, but it was enough to trigger the healing process - so they got about a level teaspoonworth before it stopped again. Luckily as that was just the preliminary amount for testing not the proper pint bit I can go back in three weeks to try. I suggested the other arm but they're not allowed to do that any more. One strike and you're out.” 😞. I will be keeping everything crossed that your next visit is more successful 🤞🙏 I know how disappointing it can be as when my DH discovered that his heart condition meant that he could no longer donate, he was gutted 😞 Well done on getting your soft plastics decluttered 👏 & great work sticking to “1 in, 1 out” 👏 This “dress gifted by an aunt which was actually quite nice if I and it had been remotely similar shapes - but being short the waist was at my hips and whatever my size (I've been from 7 stone 6 to 11 stone 8 in my time) the one constant feature was the generosity of my hips.” especially the underlined part made me chuckle 🙊
Brambling, yikes & ouch to This “I have a note in my dental records that I'm a nervous patient (thanks to the school dentist I think!) and one which warns that I have low blood pressure, I've never passed out at the dentist but laying flat can make be dizzy when I stand up and they did have to repair broken front teeth after I 'performed' at home getting out of bed too quickly, passed out and 'kissed' the radiator 🫣 however unlike my niece I don't need sedation for treatment, I just get really tense and have to be told to breathe.” 😧 😣 It sounds like your intentions were good when it came to potentially decluttering books 😉 although I completely understand getting sidetracked 😂 Perhaps you should consider thinning out the books on the bookshelves 🤔 as you will probably have more success 🤞
SpikyHedgehog, sorry to hear that you didn’t slept well Thursday night 😔 Fingers crossed that your new laundered winter duvet dried on the line & you managed a better night’s sleep on Friday night 🤞 I had to smile at your ‘tale of woe’ BUT only once I got to the end & read about the successful conclusion to your ‘adventure’ 😮💨 Fingers crossed that elder son gets a move on with the decluttering 🤞 at least it is the weekend so hopefully no excuses & perhaps he can fix the shed roof as well especially as the ladder is available 😂
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏
I have come to the end of a page & as I need another drink this is the perfect time to post 🙂 I hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & managing to stay warm 🙏 See you later 👋

Good afternoon. What a couple of weeks! Ive had multiple scans, blood tests and appointments and so far, everything is good, just a few benign cysts. Ive still no energy though so started a multi vitamin.
You may remember my young relative being diagnosed with C earlier in the year, last week she suddenly lost her fight. She had looked so well when we were at the hospital for our uncle just 2 weeks before.
Vulpix, congratulations on your new DGS. I bet he looked huge in SCBU. My youngest had to go after getting strep b, she was just under 7lb and looked so big at the side of the other babies. Glad the move went well.
Happy belated birthday to anyone I've missed.
All the talk of the dentist makes me feel sick inside. I might be brave and book my longggg overdue appointment on Monday (I snapped my tooth off in covid lockdown and tried many times to get an appointment but as it wasn't hurting or bleeding, nowhere was taking on NHS patients, but now its starting to hurt)
Righ, decluttering, I've been trying to keep up with my room each day but I've been seriously attacking the boys room. DS2 has finally decided to let a lot of his toys go (he's 20 with SEN) lots to the bin as Broken or bits missing and I have a huge box downstairs waiting to either give away or sell. Their room is looking so much better and DS2 can actually see the things he wants to keep. Next Saturday kids room should hopefully see there's finished and they should be able to keep on top of it. I know it would just have been shoved into a corner if id left them to do it themselves.
