Tuesday was a dull overcast day but dry 🙂 Forecast high 15°C, low 11°C with a chilly wind. I have my first cuppa & am resuming my knitting……….nodded off so only managed 3 rows but am now feeling more awake & have a second cuppa. The sun put in a brief appearance. Just wondering where everyone is 🤔 hopefully having an enjoyable day 😊 DH has decluttered the armour back into his repaired motorcycle trousers & put them away. I have finally decluttered my anniversary flowers into the compost bin 🙁 DH was pleasantly surprised when he weighed himself as he lost another 0.4 kg 👏 I have finished knitting & sewing up another hat. May add a pompom 🤔 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans and chopped tomatoes. Wudupa.

suzeesu2000, This “One of my pork leg joints weighs over 6lbs! I reckon we have at least 40 meals from what I got today, happy me.” is brilliant 🥳 & well done creating enough space in the freezer to take all the pork purchases 👏
Just noticed the time so am off to bed. Sleep tight 😴

Thank you for my first-ever medal, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I've been decluttering more stuff this morning to take to a friend who has almost nothing and is moving into her own flat today. A pair of curtains only came down from my bedroom when the decorator arrived and will afford her some privacy. It will also spur me on to hem the new curtains (I bought the material back in about April, and they've never been finished properly), then the decorator can hang them for me tomorrow when the paint is fully dry. I am really pleased with the new colour on the feature wall - it's Rhubarb Rose - which is far nicer than the old Chocolate Chip which was all that DH and I could agree on 14 years ago. The curtain design is multicoloured tropical plants: greens, blues, pinks, reds, and a bit of old gold, on an ivory background. Very me! (DH has his own choice in his room downstairs.)12 -
Good morning everyone. I am new to this thread and just at the start of my declutterring journey. Where possible I’m trying to recycle as I get rid. I will read back through the thread but it will take a while so meanwhile I have a question. I have some old saucepans and frying pans to get rid of. They are too far gone for anyone to use. I hoped to recycle them at Dunkel but they now longer take them. Anyone suggest an alternative before I give up and take them to the dump?11

Wednesday is currently a bright Autumn day with some sunshine & blue skies. Forecast high of 15°C, low of 10°C & a slight breeze. No rain forecast until 20:00 DH & I will be setting off in about an hour as I have a dentist appointment. I phoned earlier to make sure the appointment was still on (secretly hoping the dentist had cancelled 😉) & it is ☹️ Just time for a little cheerleading:
Excellent work TC77 👏 Dusting, decluttering & dealing with frogs 👏 Thanks for the information about the CS 😊 Perhaps you could sell the buttons or maybe there is a craft club that might find them useful 🤔
Brambling, great work completing the crafting WIP 👏 & excellent decluttering of books 👏 Yikes to This “My book shelf is floor to ceiling in the spare room and standing on steps to reach the top shelf which I haven't been able to reach for a while probably wasn't a good idea, I had a oh !!!! Moment and the phone was out of reach, I was tossing books onto the bed. Only three steps and I was standing on the platform on the top, but I had to think about how to come down, it's been a while since I've climbed any steps with my hip.” 😱 Well done on getting back down safely ☺️ 😮💨 Congratulations on becoming a great great auntie 🥳 I hope mum & baby girl are doing well 🥹 Fingers crossed that great niece/nephew puts in an appearance soon 🤞
Caught up a little but finding it hard to concentrate 😉 Wishing you all a lovely day & see you later 👋

@Rosetta92 they will get recycled at the tip. I don’t know of any other useful recycling for them?12

@TC77 do you have a primary school nearby that would take your buttons? Or a nursery group/childminder? I used to use buttons all of the time as counters with our children and then later used them with a group of children to make the heads of people that lived with them. (I've not explained that very well, sorry.)11

I've a shelf by my desk where I shove incoming paperwork, bank statements, bills, waiting to be filed. I decided today that I needed to tackle it as the stack was 5 inches high and I was running out of room. I've done the first sort through, getting rid of all those extra pages of bumpf that get sent with stuff all into the recycling bin. And things are pretty much sorted into bank, tax, foreign accts, pensions. So I need to take another run through in the next few days to get things in date order and do the filing into the bill box properly. I keep thinking I do this more often than I do - some of this was going back 2 years!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I've been off sick from work with a bad back for most of October and reading along while trying to very gently declutter unfinished yarn projects...
Now starting to feel well enough to do a drainer full of washing up before needing to sit down, so trying to do a bit more.
Got rid of 2 bags for life of stuff to the charity shop yesterday after the opticians. 2 more in the hallway, but the bags were too heavy to lift.
Glass to the bottle bank at Mr M's today before buying snacks for toddler group, used up inhalers and expired tablet medication to the pharmacy while there.
Younger Son said today that he'd noticed the kitchen was looking better, which is nice.
Oh, I mended 2 of Elder Son's jumpers the other day and put them in his room... he asked me how long one of them had been with me for mending as he'd forgotten he had it! It was after lockdown, so not too long
