- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday: a dull start to the day with a forecast high of 18°C, low of 11°C with a chance of rain by 14:00 & no breeze to speak of so I won’t be hanging out my washing. Sorted the laundry & binned a pair of DH’s Sunday socks (1820) before putting first load in. DH is currently watching MotoGP from Japan as he didn’t want to watch live as it would have meant staying up all night. Will do a bit of cheerleading whilst I can concentrate 😉
Nice to see another new face surprisinglynice 👋 This “I may still lurk, but I have made myself known now so I don't feel quite as stalkerish.” made me laugh out loud 🤣 Congratulations on your decluttering 👏 I do hope we can encourage you to post once in a while 😊
Liverpool_Anne, so sorry to hear that your DSis has taken a couple of steps backward in her recovery from the knee operation 😔 Sending hugs & healing vibes that the doctors & nurses can sort out the low BP, blood clot & chest infection asap 🙏 Despite being “very distracted by my DSis” you have been very busy & have managed to do a lot of decluttering both physical & digital 👏 Great cheerleading ☺️ As to my DSis, her current decision is that she won’t drive the car unless my DH is with her 😞 Oh well, it is what it is 🤷♀️
QueenJess, sorry to hear that you have a second cold 😞 Hopefully you will recover more quickly this time 🤞although I see that you have still been busy 👏 All this talk of kitchen drawers, is ‘encouraging me’ to tackle mine 😉 although I might wait until Monday just to make sure my wrist is fully healed 😊 Great work on your continuing ‘use up’ journey 👏
Great decluttering Rootle 👏 Still on track so a Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way as you are now 3 quarters of the way to target 😊
Great decluttering BlueJ94 👏 I do hope you managed to meet up with your friend 🤞
Soontobeoap, yippee to being finished with the decorating 🥳👏 & ready for the next stage of renovation 😊
Excellent decluttering suzeesu2000 👏 You are definitely on a roll 🥳 Fingers crossed that DH gets better quickly 🤞 as I love the idea of This “….. to have one raised bed totally empty this week. Then, when he feels better, DH can do manly stuff and make it into smaller bits to go in recycling.” 😁 Keep up the good work decluttering the freezer contents 😊
DH is just about to go out on his first walk. First load of washing is finished so have it on to dry. My concentration is flagging so I will post this & come back later. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊

Thank you for the warm welcome
I probably won't post much this year but I will definitely join and post in next year's challenge. I'm constantly decluttering though. I have a habit of holding on to stuff that doesn't need to be kept. What I have found quite useful are the wheel apps where you can enter specific things in the wedges. I then "spin the wheel" and do that tasks, eg kitchen cupboard 4 or bedroom drawer 2, etc. I find doing one box, cupboard, etc at a time makes it less overwhelming. I have been doing this throughout the year and have found and sold loads of things that would otherwise still be sitting there doing nothing.
Today, I went through a box in my bedroom and have managed to get rid of some handmade cards (15+ years old and not up to scratch!), an old VHS tape, loads of paperwork for shredding, a couple of kids books, coathangers and some fake Lego. All this apart, from the paperwork, will go in the charity bag along with some clothes I don't wear anymore.Mortgage: Was: £154,495 Oct 2039 Now: £81,279.78 May 2037Swagbucks ~ £180 (2024 ~ £395)Surveys ~ £186.64 (2024 ~ £280.14)Make £2025 in 2025 #5 ~ £1,406.55 ~ (2024 ~ £2,561.04)15 -
Lovely colour wool there Mrs SD, very cheerful unlike my grey and cream purchase. Pleased to hear your wrist is much better. Mine is too, I think several hours scraping varnish off the trunk with a vegetable knife did for it.
Forgot to say, binned some oven shelf edge protectors. My last oven was gas and I branded myself on a regular basis. I know I do far less cooking here but never even got round to putting them on this electric oven. I would have this make of hob and oven again at the next house. Not a priority to have a new kitchen but we will eventually.
Drum roll please! used up a significant amount of frozen peas in a mushroom risotto. I am on a mission to completely use up everything in the freezer. It is a challenge to use all the food up whilst most of the pans and crockery are in boxes.
Right I am off out in a bit, need to get a wriggle on. Vx:19 -
Unexpected freezer sort here.
Lots of boxes removed and duplicates places together. Ended up with the outside freezer becoming empty and the inside one condensing down.
Now need to buy food!September 2017 Debt = £25330

Thank you @mrs-Salad-Dodger for our medals.
All cleaned up in living room ready for flooring fitters. Just need to move sofas out of the room before we go to bed! Would you believe that I filled a hoover bag over the last few weeks just hoovering up at the end of the day after plasterer, electrician, plumber, Carpenter and us! It's amazing how much mess a few people can make! 🤣.
When putting away trays, rollers and brushes I found a couple of old tins of paint. Don't know why we kept them so they are gone. Also cleared out a lot of plastic wrappers and paintbrush packing etc that had been left on dining table! The cot sheet that we used to protect the tele from paint went too.DH has been quite poorly today. He has a temp of 38° is lethargic and has stayed in bed most of the day. Not like him at all. When looking for a COVID test they were 1 yr out of date so they went in the bin too. (2 boxes) I am hoping it is just a cold and an infection . DH is prone to an infection especially when there is a lot of dust around.
Carpenter measured up yesterday for fire surround no 2. I think it will be much nicer and probably work out cheaper. Meant to be maybe.
I sat down and put.together some more new cards from old for charity last night so loads of off cuts from them binned. All of the rubbish that I have turned out today amounts to another bin bag full. I am on a roll.
Oh and I nearly forgot. When I went to singing last week I got home and DH said " I have sorted my sock drawer" I didn't see that coming! You could have knocked me down with a feather! As My dear old Mum used to say. He has put all of his new socks in one drawer and his older ones in another. He plans to wear the old ones and then throw them or keep them depending on their condition. It's catching this bug!craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Well what can I say ? LO has watched a decluttering video on Utube and has been on fire today. She has given large toys to the neighbours to save me taking them anywhere. Decluttered lego, Barbie’s, polly pockets, books and summer clothes. I am really quite astonished. She’s dusted and tidied. Then she went through all her papers art work school books cards etc and filed the ones she wants to keep neatly and sent a very big pile to recycling. How proud I am of her for making such a big effort 💕 Her bedroom is so neat and tidy. Marie Kondo would be delighted at her beautifully categorised clothes….
we have quite a lot to give away so I will make that a priority on my next day off. It will definitely be quicker to hoover with the Barbie house and camper gone from the living room!I only wish she would sprinkle some decluttering magic on DH who remains stubborn and holds on to everything !18 -
Evenin all, said with hands clasped behind back and outward bending of the knees👮hope every one has had a reasonable Sunday.
DH still unwell so I spent the majority of the day continuing with the laptop clean up. Oh my goodness me there is an awful lot but, every bit done is a bit less to do so shall carry on. I did get a big chunk done today. One of the main issues is I look after everything for my mum too. Pay all her bills, deal with all her paperwork and everything so her file is huge too. I’m going to TRY to scan and file as it arrives rather than hoarding a stack of papers. I’m sure that will work better.
it was very dark and wet first thing so a good day for getting inside stuff dealt with.
Didn't do a roast as DH didn’t fancy one. Made chicken and veg soup instead. Used cooked frozen chicken from freezer and some near- to-death veg from the fridge. Was yummy. Had a little today and got 2 left. Got stuff all ready to make slow cooker bolognese tomorrow. Would have liked to use rigatoni pasta but, as I have a ton of it, it’s got to be spaghetti. Will taste good whatever.
Have a good rest of the evening. Night night xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

My sister came around today and gardened enough to fill my garden wheelie bin. I pointed her in the direction of my japonica so she could have the quince for membrillo, it also meant she had to prune it back to reach the quince 😁 I have tried for twenty years to kill the japonica even digging it up! I've just encouraged it to take over the border with its 1inch thorns but at least it provided her with 2.5kg.
Payback was a roast lamb lunch and I set up her new laptop so she can get rid of her very old temperamental one. I surprised her with my newly sorted and tidy cutlery drawer.
i volunteered at Petworth yesterday I took in five books and brought hone two, so three books decluttered.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin14 -
