@TC77 I live alone and have 3 duvets for my bed - 15 tog, 10.5 tog & 4.5 tog. The 15 is a new one as my other feather duvets were getting patchy as the filling had settled. I would hold onto them, vac bags are great for storing them.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Brie, I forgot to say, love your new artwork.
It's gone!!!!!!!! Thank you chums.x Plans went to pot as just after I pressed "post" earlier. The Estate Agent rang to say everything had gone through and could we drop the keys off? All done and Mum was a bit tearful, she had lived there 70 years. It will feel most odd to never visit the house again, It has been a constant for me in all my travelling, living all over and madness of life. I am lucky that Mum is still here, she hasn't changed one little bit so that's good.We still bicker, we are too much alike.
Strangely me n DD1 are very much alike but we get on well, must be my Mother who is awkward then !
So we got giddy and went to Sheffield for lunch and a bit of antique shopping. We bought a mirror and a carriage clock.
Picked up some earrings and a ring from the jeweller, my bangle isn't back from the stone setter yet. Not paid owt , he just said settle up next time.
Time to name some food and then do the kitchen tidy I have been yearning for.

Lovely artwork Brie!
We had the carpet fitted on Wednesday and on the spur of the moment we took an overnight break at a local hotel that has recently reopened. It was a nice room with a sea/estuary view and the staff were lovely too.
The Ship Hotel | Leigh-on-Sea, Essex
I came back yesterday and the new carpet looks so much better and it looks like it will be much warmer in the winter.
I did a few odds jobs today, but I haven't done the main decluttering project of the wardrobes yet as it was far too hot. I am going to start tomorrow and tackle the footwear section first. I am going to take everything out and clean the shelves and see what I'm getting rid of.
I'm sick of feeling like I'm fighting coat hangers with my clothes and I do only wear a few outfits over and over so that will be done on Sunday so I have the donation bags to take one day next week.

Friday is another scorcher 🥵 high of 29°C, low 18°C & humidity 51%. After having my first cuppa I helped DH load the car & he took all the previously counted items from the garage & delivered them to the Tip aka recycling centre. Forgot to check if tyres were accepted - no, so back in garage & DH will investigate where to drop off - probably incurring a small charge. I found a couple of bits in the garage - plastic packaging & a cardboard box. Forgot to mention that DH’s additional task from WLP on top of his walking is to do 3 x 15 minutes of exercise per week so he has spent a total of 45 minutes gardening including pruning our hedge & weeding
1497 Large cardboard box broken down & recycled
1498 Plastic packaging binned
1499 Bag of garden waste put aside for collection
Brie what an interesting way to spend time 😊 Very impressed at how well you resisted temptation but then being ‘wise’ enough to stock up on art supplies that you will be using 👏 especially as you had been considering buying said items. Twice the amount of art supplies for half the price is a real bargain 🥳 As to This “I'll be using water soluble crayons quite a bit I think..... (justification??)” no need for justification just happiness at your wisdom 🥹 Thomas is a cutie so no wonder you bought a sketch (well done on getting it signed 👏)
Willowtree222, the benefit of no new card is that you aren’t spending any money + you are using the time staying indoors to do loads of decluttering 👏 Good luck with next weeks project tidying & decluttering the contents of DD’s wardrobe 🍀 Sounds like you are really enjoying using your steam cleaner ☺️
MadamMim2013, shame about the clear space in the garage being filled again BUT look on it as your version of a Sort Your Life Out warehouse - everything will be moving on to new homes 👏 Fingers crossed that the Tip run happens 🤞The time spent with your friend sounds wonderfully restorative 🥹 Good luck filling the box with items for Vinted 🍀
QueenJess, you are a marvel 🤩 Working full time & still decluttering & tidying 👏 I hope you are enjoying your new job & have some nice colleagues & more importantly a good boss 🤞 Thanks for the chocolate marble cake 😋 & the flapjacks 👏
Excellent decluttering Bananabreadyum 👏 Fingers crossed that the passport pictures are OK🤞
Lovely post StickyTheStickInsect 😊
Excellent work getting all that DIY sorted TC77 👏 A medal each 🏅🏅 for you & your DIY friend. Very sorry to hear This “A bit down yesterday as just feel the chaos won't change unless instead of finding things to declutter I start saying I can have x plates or y duvets etc. It's get very cold so I have a 15 tog duvet, also 10.5 , 7.5 and 3.5 . The 10.5 is usually for guests and have found I've used the 7.5 and 3.5 this year. .I've never had luck with vacuum bags but maybe the way to go for these.” 😢 & as vulpix put it so well I have copied & pasted her comment which I totally agree with 🙂 “TC, I don't know that you have to be so strict with yourself with numbers of things, if you use something you still need it. I think putting like with like is a big help. Rome wasn't built in a day. You are consistent with your decluttering, remember how much has already gone.” Grr to laptop issue 😠 & having to spend your weekend catching up on work ☹️ This “I have so many charging cable and can never find them so as I find them have allocated a large drawer to corral them and then decide what to do.” is a great idea 👏
Excellent work sorting out the yarn tubs & tidying your craft room CRANKY40 👏 Sounds like you have already formulated a plan to bring your bedroom back under control ☺️ so good luck 🍀& hopefully it won’t be as bad as you think 🤞Great work keeping up with the 5 a day & also the regular garden decluttering 👏 With the amount of steady work you are doing, you must be noticing a difference 😊
vulpix, as I started reading This “I was being hard on myself last night as the kitchen is a complete tip with half packed boxes and stuff lying about.” I was getting ready to start wagging a finger 😉 but you quickly realised how busy you had been & how much work you had got done 🥳 excellent decluttering 👏 especially as I thought you had run out of general items to declutter 😊 Great commitment with your sit ups - 2.5 months 🤩 The problem with doing 100 press-ups is that it takes time 😥 although I suppose your DS probably falls asleep immediately once he is in bed 🤞Yippee to handing in the keys to your mum’s house at the Estate Agent 🥳 A fitting end to 17 months of worry & hard work 🥹 Good luck in the kitchen 🍀 Hope you enjoy a pleasant trip out should MrV get his way 🙊 I am dancing a jig 💃 at This “All done and Mum was a bit tearful, she had lived there 70 years. It will feel most odd to never visit the house again, It has been a constant for me in all my travelling, living all over and madness of life.” Loved This “I am lucky that Mum is still here, she hasn't changed one little bit so that's good. ❤️ We still bicker, we are too much alike. 😈 Strangely me n DD1 are very much alike but we get on well, must be my Mother who is awkward then !😆” especially your last observation 🙊
Pleased to hear that you have had a well deserved trip out 🥹
Wednesday2000, what a lovely way to celebrate getting new carpeting ☺️ Good luck with Project Wardrobe Decluttering 🍀
All caught up 🥳 We are having salad again as it is way too hot to cook 😉 I do hope everyone is having/has had a lovely day 😊

Mrs SD you could try freeycle for tyres. I know you're not a fan of it but apparently tyres are useful for ponds and also for places where you don't want scooters /wheeled things to run into other bits of a garden or play area. Not sure how true.
Brie , the art sale sounds fab and well done for well chosen purchases.
Vulpix , must be very strange for you and your mum and hope you have some lovely photos or momentoes of the house.
I don't use my space well so starting small.got out the Swedish mini drawers, one labelled batteries is now full of batteries and more space in a kitchen drawer and 6 batteries for recyling . Have put the different picture hooks/ wire etc all in another and another now has fold back and bulldog clip ( prob old fashioned but v useful) which clogged up desk drawers and used one to keep stash or small plastic bags tidy. Have 2 more empty so thinking what will be good use of them.
Found another pencil case and one pen thrown out and one for stationery stash to pass on.

I need to out all sd cards together as I'm sure I don't need to buy one for my camera. Looking at whats on them will be a winter job. Returned library book and they kindly waved the fine

Thank you for my gold stars Mrs SD 😊and glad I haven’t missed a meet up.
No work on the container this week, the weather has been too good for the kids to not be outside doing stuff, so we won’t be doing another car boot sale on Sunday as I haven’t had chance to sort anymore stuff out that we can sell. I have started sorting out the boxes of children’s books, some have come back home to go on their shelves but I did manage to get them to part with quite a few and dropped 2.5 bags at the bookshop that supports one of our local hospices. I’ve also managed to get DH to finally go through his towels as all of them were crunchy, he has to keep his favourite one (!) but I managed to get a bag to fabric recycling. 3.5 bags in total.
This makes my new total 204/104 (312)
@TC77 thank you for your wishes about my Mum. We have the same problem with a plethora of cables but never being able to find the right one, I’ve had to order a new laptop charger as I can’t find the one I brought last month! Large draw allocated now for all tech type cables!!
@vulpix well done with the house sale!
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger your local primary school might take tyres if they are intact, ours has in the past, they make good seats (with a circle of wood in the middle) for little bums!
