This morning we got up and removed the wood chip paper behind the television. That's the last of it now thankfully. We got rid of 2 pairs of shoes from the shoe cupboard, an old DVD Player and another bag of wood chip paper. Counting as one full bag.

Hi all, slept in this morning after a disturbed night due to the heat but was woken by a phone call for an urgent union thing requiring a home visit. I have no phone number, only an address, luckily quite near me. 2 visits made with no luck catching anybody home which is probably to be expected in this glorious weather. If they've got any sense they have taken the kids to the park for a picnic 😁. I will have to try again tomorrow. The saga of the car continues, still not fixed and OH is threatening to take action for lose of earnings. It might take up to 2 weeks if they can't fix it as it will have to go to a specialist garage and they can't fit it in until a week on Thursday. The garage where it is has promised a technician will look at it tomorrow morning but if he can't fix it the master technician will look at it on Friday. They are suggesting we take it to the specialist garage and they will pay for the breakdown truck to move it but there has been no discussion about who will pay for the actual repair which is why we have decided to let them try to do it. OH is furious and I am doing my best to keep things calm. Tomorrow the gas engineer is coming to sort the smart meter. I am hoping there are no problems with that as OH will be hanging around and I don't want to think about where his spanners might end up if OH gets involved with another breakdown situation 😂.
So today 4 LDFPA, kitchen recycling and bedroom recycling emptied. Managed to get to the sm for a small shop though I treated OH to some crisps hoping to lift the mood 😁. It had to be a small shop though as I have spent up with meals out with Dniece and treating Dnephew during my trip to Wembley and OH is losing money daily. We won't starve as we have lots of food etc but the toilet roll situation was getting tricky 😂.
It was over 30° here today and was so warm we were sat in the garden until nearly 9 pm having coffee over the fence with ln, it really was very nice 😁
@Vulpix it really must be a weight off your mind to finally have your mum's house going. Well done as it has dragged on a bit for you hugs
@GrannyKate the garden looks fav 😁
@YBR fingers crossed you are reunited with all your belongings tomorrow 😁
@Willowtree222 OMG I don't know what's worse the bank card or the gin, hugs
Right off to bed and hopefully some sleep
Hugs to everyone who would like one

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Tuesday continued: DH finally got home 19:15 - the quick visit to the dentist turned into a marathon - the dentist was behind so DH ended up waiting until 17:45 😞 Then there were issues with the Central Line. Dinner was chicken fried in a little oil & butter, boiled potatoes & peas. Wudupa
1477 - 1480 Kitchen & office recycling, magazine, drinks cans - recycled
1481 - 1483 Kitchen, lr & office detritus - binned
Dizzycap, sounds like both Babyface & Gorda are keeping you very busy 🙁 Hopefully they are both properly on the mend so that you can start catching up on your sleep 🤞So sorry to hear about your aunty 😢 Condolences to you & your family. Good luck with all your medical appointments 🍀
daisy_1571, don’t forget the bunting 😉
Excellent work in the garden GrannyKate 👏 Both you & DS2 have worked so hard that I am awarding you each a medal🏅🏅 The new seating area looks wonderful ☺️ Love the photos of Sox 😊 just wondering if he has had a swim yet 😂
vulpix, yippee to your mum’s house completing on Friday 🥳 You have worked very hard & deserve at least 💐 as well as some time in the tLC Carriage 🥹
Great work with the sales suzeesu2000 👏 & good luck with your new listings 🍀 Sorry to hear that the hot weather plays havoc with your asthma & arthritis 🥺 Hopefully you can stay cool whilst you are continuing work on your family tree 🙏
Brie, it does sound like that particular t shirt has given good service & was a real bargain 😊Great idea to pack decluttered clothing into a no-longer required suitcase ready to drop off at CS 👏 Fingers crossed that there is no more Poole pottery to tempt you 🤞😉
Excellent decluttered ionafan 👏What a brilliant way for your DH to stay awake on night shifts 🤩 by cross stitching ☺️ Such a shame that he didn’t quite finish them before moving onto the next kit 😞 As to This “It has taken me 2 days to untangle and sort the unused threads!” I am quite jealous - weird I know but I quite like sorting tangled threads 🙊
More excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hopefully Sox restricted himself to ‘deep grumbling’ & it was too hot for any other activity 😉
QueenJess, well done on the rest of Sunday’s decluttering 👏 You are rapidly approaching the 4,000 mark 🤩
YBR yippee to be in the new house 🥳 Although a real shame that the van broke down so close to your new home & you are having to spend your first night minus most of your furniture & belongings ☹️ Fingers crossed that everything will arrive early tomorrow 🤞
Willowtree222, 😥 to both the ‘decluttered bank card’ & the smashed bottle 😱
Very impressed at your ‘c’est la vie’ acceptance & the looking on the bright side 🥹
Bananabreadyum, I hope you are only charging family rates 😂 Good luck with your listings & hopefully they will all sell quickly 🤞
Lovely post TC77 ☺️ Sounds like you did really well with the decluttering 👏 especially as you were out most of Sunday 😊 Fingers crossed that it isn’t too expensive or time consuming to get your dad’s house ready for potential renting 🤞 I also noticed that you are not too far off getting another gold star 😊
Excellent decluttering Soontobeoap especially the last of the wood chip paper 👏
Liverpool_Anne, hope you get a better night’s sleep tonight 🙏 No wonder your OH is furious 😡 I do hope it can be sorted out quickly so he can get back to earning money 🙏 Meanwhile I hope you can continue to keep things calm & also that there are no issues with the smart meter 🤞 Your evening in the garden chatting to ln sounds like a lovely way to end a stressful day 🥹
All caught up so will post & go to bed. I have lovely fresh bedding to look forward to as I stripped the bed earlier 😊 Two loads of washing done but only one load hung out & am leaving out overnight. Sleep tight 😴

Willowtree, ya gotta love em!
YBR, yay, almost there!
Soontobeoap, that is an achievement to finally get rid of the wood chip paper. That stuff is the devil to get off.
Thank you for the flowers Mrs SD. I have been dealing with Mum's house one way or another for 17 months. I shall be glad to not have responsibility for it any more. It will feel odd though to never visit it again. Mum lived there for 70 years.
O, LiverpoolAnne, what a palava. Fingers crossed that the garage can fix the problem soon.
I need to go and tidy up down stairs, there are 4 dining chairs, an ikea chair and boxes of under sink gubbins to put somewhere. Wednesday is our cleaners day. There is already a double divan in the sitting room and a big rug rolled up under the sofa.
I have identified some more clothes to go but I will wait and take everything to the charity shop on Saturday. I am dithering about the curtains. Perhaps I will decide about them after the move. The big M&S bed spread can go though. I am beginning to consider some duvet covers to go. Read this in a whisper, they were £180. Hangs head in shame. I suppose all my other thriftyness allows for me to have something expensive which I have loved and have constantly used for almost 10 years.

Poking head round corner feeling a little guilty.. 👋🏼
Blimey, everyone has been so busy.. Have been reading/catching up when I can!
Health issues abound in the last few weeks family wise, including myself. Various appointments attended with everyone, mainly good with a little not so fab news.. 😑
Knuckling down doing a little research to help myself fix the core issue.. decluttering plenty of tea while going down that rabbit hole!😵💫🤯
I have been gradually listing items on Vinty and a steady flow has gone out (a few needed items have come in using the balance, I’m ok with that!) Yesterday however I had a “moment” the very large suitcase I had stored in the garage full of clothes (to be car-booted) was opened and the contents de-hangered and put in black bags.. I then dropped at my nearest charity shop along with a bag of paperbacks! It felt quite freeing, we’ve not managed to do a car boot again & I can’t see it happening any time soon..
The suitcase will go up in the loft for now, it can actually be used when we go away in September! 😇
Later I plan to thin out my (slightly out of control) glass jar collection.. I think some or should that be many can be listed on bookface to be collected 🤣
Brain has had enough thinking/reading for a while, eyes are burning so must stop..
Before I go, just have to say that, although I may not post often & do waaay more lurking than I should I am honestly so grateful to @Mrs_Salad_Dodger & the group for it being a genuine constant in my life when everything else seems to be so uncertain! 💗

Hellooooooooo
I thought I’d caught up but think I am missing having read a few pages…..
Anyway - appointment booked for kidneys check up. Yay.
Ive had my hydrogen breath test just waiting for those results. And then…..the work demon struck. In short my little team is being ripped apart from the main team (with the lovely boss) and being amalgamated with a different team who are based up north. As we do a mix of hybrid working we don’t need to travel and can use our existing office when we need to be onsite.
we were told last Friday - and move 1st September. 3 weeks notice with no idea what the transition plan will be as various people are now on holiday……as you can imagine we are furious as the northern team are on a different contract and better pay and that’s only the start of it. A formal
complaint to the ethics committee is going in on the way this was done. Don’t know whether to involve the union as our jobs aren’t at risk - yet!!!! So not sure what they could do for us.Anyway jab weekend coming up - they seem to get faster.
Got a cracking heat headache so I’m gonna take some big painkillers and haul my miserable bum off to bed…..
Take care all xxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Busy day today trying, I emphasise trying😬to get things sorted.
i have bulky neutral items in the house that were bought very cheap for a summer charity collection this year. However the summer charity collection isn’t going ahead so they have turned into general items that need to leave the house as they are taking up space.Managed to get 3 plus a storage jar up to favourite charity shop this morning. Have promised I will be back with more.
286+4 items =290
291)-292) presents x 2 finally sent
293) cardboard boxes put to use and out of the house.
294) empty tablet packs to collection point for the Boots points offer. It’s abit of a faff and I tend to put extra in as I have loads but trying to build up some points for the sales.
295) card sent with the above presents which has been in my stash forever
296)-297) items x 2 of DDs passed on to her.
Neutral items currently stands at 459 + 11 items out today donated as raffle prizes = 470
Then when visiting Tes this evening, a big superstore, they had lots of stationary items extremely cheap or reduced. A bulk load bought, but these will leave the house within the next 2 weeks and just count as 1 when they leave.
No chance of evicting the cats from the kitchen Mrs SD. I work in the kitchen as it’s easier to get to the front door with the wheelchair so u can always guarantee I have a cat splodged on my paperwork or around the kitchen as it’s abit of a sun trap.Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When Dfriend installed the new screen door in the kitchen, it meant I had to find a new home for a small trolley that used to live by the back door.Today, I removed all the empty glass jars that I have zero use for, they went in the recycling bin.A roll of bubble wrap is being relocated to top of pantry shelves by DH as I can’t reach.I found the handle thing that goes in a roll of pak - x packing wrap. Put with other packaging bits.Frankie’s, now redundant, puzzle trays moved to draining board, the small one has been cleaned but have to bring big one up to bathroom to give a good shower - it’s got lots of fiddly little nooks and crannies for hiding treats in but is a !!!!!! to clean. Finally, my lovely canvas gardening bag. All seeds rehomed, rubbish binned and dirt emptied. My friend is having the bag.Trolley now taken apart, into a bag for the loft. Won’t get rid as it is a handy thing which doesn’t take up much room and might be needed again.Tomorrow the gas man is coming to give the boiler its annual service.
Have a very nice item to list on eBay tomorrow as well.
DH has threatened to get the washing line put up by the weekend…some time tomorrow, I must go out and get rid of the weeds in the raised beds. Have got to empty raised beds too - they are full of organic compost so need to find a good home for it.
wasn’t too hot here today but forecast is for a boiling one again Friday…oh joy😥 xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
