Morning all…..welcome back Dizzycap! Xxxxxx 😍😍
I did a surprise parental visit for Father’s Day at the weekend and have surprisingly caught a cold. I don’t really go out so to catch one really surprised me and I am having a small pity party as my throat is very sore and my nose is bunged up…and yes I’m being a baby 😋
Mrs SD be careful in those strange hotel rooms! They sound quite vicious…….
Managed to pot up 3 plants I should have done ages ago and soaked the garden ready for the heatwave. Not looking forward to that but at least it’s only a few days.
Take care all!

- Then set off again towards Inveraray. We had to use the Rest & Be Thankful Military Road in convoy. Arrived at our hotel, The Inveraray Inn at 16:00, found a parking space in front of the hotel & when we checked in we discovered we had been upgraded to a room with a view of the Loch (see pic)

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday: a fairly good nights sleep only 2 bathroom visits until I woke up fully at 07:00. It rained over night & is currently overcast & 11°C. An hour later & it has brightened up considerably - some blue sky & even a bit of sunshine.
An unintentional bit of decluttering - my favourite & oldest neck tube ☹️ Usually I would put it on before going down to breakfast but yesterday morning I was so hot that I couldn’t bear to wear it. I thought I had packed it away but last night after a hunt around it appears that it was left behind in the Thornhill Hotel 😢 Fortunately DH had a spare.

Excellent decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 I did notice that the stopcock at OH’s house has been found 🤔 not really the ideal place - outside under the pavement. Hopefully a new one can be sorted for inside the house 🤞
weenancy, we were so full last night that we never even looked at the dessert menu 😉 although three chocolate mousses sounds delicious I am not quite sure it would set us up for the day 😅
YBR, looks very comfy 😊
oceanspirit, it was a lovely drive through the Galloway Forest 😊 Well done on decluttering important tasks 👏
Gers, I had a feeling you were nearby as I do read your posts about your Rest & Be Thankful journeys.
08:50 & we are mostly packed & heading down to breakfast. Wishing you all a lovely day whatever the weather 😉 See you all tonight 👋

Hi, I've had a sleepless night. urgggh. I have to go to see Mum later and do a lot of letter writing and form filling for her, groan. I am not someone who can function with lack of sleep.
Sorry Daisy, Thank you for the messages and actually other people too. No excuse, just unobservant.
Your road trip sounds like the ideal getaway from the heat in the South Mrs SD. It's awful falling as an adult, you just don't bounce like children do, a proper shock. Glad that your ok.
To answer your question, it was a Rowan tree I planted for Bit by bit. It's grown and is quite happy in it's spot. She enjoyed visiting here.It was a bolthole where her family didn't know where she was. She needed the peace at times.
I'm still not happy that you might fall asleep on the back of the bike.
A potential house has come on the market. A semi. I have always admired them and thought they were good looking houses.I had to walk past them every day going to and from school. The agency is one where the vendor takes their own photo's. Oh dear oh dear. No idea, pictures of the beds, not the rooms just the blurry beds etc. They could have tidied up a bit as well! Well tidied up a lot actually. Good job I have vision! The downside is it's on a B road. Ok for us but I don't know about the cats. Fluffy used to put her ears down and run at the last house. Fomo sat at the kerb and did the green cross code. We will go and view it. There's nothing else. We are both getting anxious now.
I have eaten an elderly frog. Made an appointment with a jeweller to have some repairs done and see about making something with all the unwanted diamonds that I have. My jeweller friend who has since retired made my engagement ring I think it was called a halo design. It had been a solitaire and an eternity ring. There are also 2 other diamond trio engagement rings. I was thinking of possibly some earrings and a bangle which I would wear. I don't have the fingers for rings, too stumpy. The repairs are a watch with diamonds round it and there's a rough claw that catches on clothes and a pair of hoop earrings that I would like a hinged fastener putting on. There is a watch chain necklace that I would like shortening too.
The back bedroom is packed. I have started in our room. The book case is packed.
The only decluttering has been my broken glasses chain. Still making inroads on using up from the freezer and pantry. Also using up toiletries and cleaning stuff.
I may have bought an old sewing machine table for a fiver. Ooops. It will use up a can of black stove paint I have been keeping for Justin. Of course it may or may not become a permanent resident.
Take care all Vx

Oh, love the chair by the way. I would buy it for my non existent new house!:17

Hello chums ,boy its a warm one today Just checked the forecast, and its wall-to-wall sunshine here until the end of the month. DD is sitting in the garden under the sun-brolly because it so warm. I was going to go into Newport on Friday but the IoW festival starts tomorrow, so I shall avoid it like the plague as the traffic will be very heavy I can wait until next week for a mooch.
We did a tip-run yesterday with literally a car load of junk. So far we have managed to get one bedroom actually cleared and decorated . We had to get it sorted as we have a visitor arriving on Friday
DD's friend is coming this weekend for a long weekend and she hasn't seen her in over a year. They have been friends for 35 years and she's a nice lass and has never been to the IoW so DD will be giving her a conducted tour I think
We went to the beach last Sunday for a picnic and it was lovely as it was nice and warm but with just a gentle breeze blowing
I have a coffee morning tomorrow at Godshill which I'm looking forward to, coffee and delicious cake and a natter with some friends ,right up my street
I hope everyone is Ok and keeping hydrated with lots of water in the heat, also a sun hat I have several and its so much better than getting heat stroke.
Have a good week, halfway through June already .My spud patch has masses of flowers on so we will be harvesting soon, and the tomatoes are coming along nicely
onwards and upwards chums
JackieO xx
P.S. The wood for our new fencing arrived this morning, hopefully a week Friday, the tradesman will also arrive to erect it and we can get shot on intrusive bind weed and brambles from a neighbours garden, he is a nice old chap but far to frail to do a lot in his garden I think
My son-in-law cut it back a bit but its a real pain as it gets everywhere.16 -

The recycling bag was collected so an item less in the garage.
Dil was meant to collect dresses yesterday evening. When the doorbell went - I answered the ring with an armful of dresses and hangers. It was not Dil but a neighbour of the SA hall to tell me that the burglar alarm was going off.
I know that the security company contacts C when the alarm is triggered. I phoned C - he thinks a cat got in the building when the back fire exit was open due to the heat. I just hope the alarm doesn't go off tonight as C will be away.
I sorted out lots more stuff for Dd's school - she is coming to collect after she finishes work.
Today I went early to SA with Mr F as I had arranged to collect some clothes from a neighbour.
A car full of donations arrived so that was sorted.
Lunch went smoothly.
