Evening everyone
I’m not sure if this counts but I have managed to declutter all the Christmas things into the loft, all securely boxed up, ready for the end of the year 😊I did manage to decant them all into less boxes, and threw an old box away into the recycling.
Tomorrow I have to move the ornaments cluttering up the bookcase, cabinet and tv unit onto the 2 shelving units that had Christmas ornaments on. Feeling quite chuffed over that one as I did miss our old shelving units in the old house. Now I can thoroughly dust as well, once we have moved the tree upstairs into a spare room. It’s so blooming heavy the box won’t move into the loft, we have to move it upstairs in three parts with both of us moving it, so we have given it a home in a spare room.
I thought with regards to the decluttering from the house I thought I would actually do it by black sack, rather then listing them individually. This way I don’t have to fret if I don’t do it everyday, which I was doing previously. So the total should be 2025 black bags of stuff out of the house by the end of the year.
Oh re charity bags why is it we don't get them in my part of Wales...? We used to get loads back in Kent, now we are here we haven't seen a single bag in over a year. I have had to give everything to DH so he can load his car up until he can't get anymore in, he then goes to a couple of charity shops in Aberystwyth, or to the tip where they have a "nearly new" section that people can take stuff and people can have a nosey at it when they are using the tip.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Good eveing,
@GrannyKate I'm sorry about the twins
@Florenceem Has Mr F had blood tests for things like thyroid problems or general vitamin deficiencies? If he hasn't it may be worth an ask. Take extra care of yourself too - watching his every move and anticipating each disaster can become exhausting.
Decluttering score this weekend was 10 from my craft room which was mostly paperwork - I take it in there to read and it never leaves.
Today's haul was another 10 but from the kitchen this time. I did some baking and made lasagne for dinner so I sorted through some more bits while I was in there. The charity bag is overflowing so I need to swap it into a black bag (it's in a big orange Sainsbury's bag just now which I'd like to have back in the car).
Here's a little decluttering story for you. When I was small my gran had a decluttering session. Most of it was old papers and boxes and goodness knows what else. Unfortunately gran was out of firelighters so we had to go to the shop. When we came home it was to discover that grandad had been outside and had reclaimed most of the bonfire material and put it away somewhere. Gran was absolutely fuming. I'm probably older now than my gran was then but it's still funny.17 -
Good evening. So much I wanted to reply too but I'll probably forget, so if I do, hugs to all.
GrannyKate, so sorry to hear your news. I can't begin to imagine how everyone is feeling. Sending love to you all.
Muddy-walker, DS got a terrarium for Christmas, a Harry Potter one, and now I'm waiting for him to do it after seeing yours. Our dogs were waiting for tge snowballs this morning to. They hate going out in the rain but get excited at the first sign of snow.
Florenceem, I really hope MrF gets his scan soon. Keeping a list of falls/strange behaviour might help at the doctors to get him seen a bit quicker, especially if you start to think its getting worse.
Yesterday I spent an hour in the younger children's room. I can now see the floor. Some bits have left the house and I have a pile of cardboard, well see what can be squeezed into yhe bin on Tuesday before adding it co my list.
Today we've taken a lot of the Christmas decorations down. But spent a lot of the time mopping the floor. Dog1 had left a trail of wee when we got up so I mopped that, a bit later I could still smell it, on investigating, it was under tge edge of the chair so pushed it back and mopped again. Spent all day saying we can still smell it so moved everything and pulled the chair out and there was a whole pool! How on earth he got it under there I have no idea but under the chair and sofa are now de dog furred cleaned and mopped.
Sat for an hour talking to DH while he did a 3d puzzle so nothing has actually left the house today other than dog fur and dust.

Lots done here this afternoon, trying to focus on clearing an area each time. Junk store today (destined to be an ensuite, there is a bath buried somewhere under the homeless junk of years).
Five black bags worth of things ready to exit the building plus several mirrors and five shoe racks to put on village freecycle once the snow has gone.
Mr Redo had made a couple of built in boot cupboards and coat racks but we had just stored the old racks in case we needed them for another project. I have also exited at least 20 sets of his footwear, and at last count 25 of his coats are in the sell or re-home rack. He did like to be prepared for every eventuality. Also a few pairs of mine that I will no longer wear due to dodgy ankle of doom.

@Florenceem - my roommate Di has the excessive sleepiness too. Only one fall so far, thank goodness, but she doesn't get up and move very often either. NO stairs here for her either. Don't know if it is part of the cellulitis.

5 pages to catch up on since yesterday! Right....@BlueJ94. Fab snow pic!@muddy_walker. haha, I love that you were chucking snowballs at the dogs.
And you have been very busy today!
@basketcase. Thank youplease don't tell Mrs SD! I won't do it again!
@Moorviews. Thank you. I'm rubbish at football - and being her Mom, think I may be a bit biased - but I've been told several times that she has a natural talent and have been approached by big clubs (and lots of local grassroots) but she is 14 now and has discovered hanging out with friends (who are not sporty at all). I often wish she were more ambitious but also want her to continue to enjoy it as long as possible. That's a good idea to box the decs I don't want ready for next year.@FLorenceem. I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing Mr F's unusual behaviour. It must be a constant worry.@Mrs_Salad_Dodger. Thank you for the warm welcome and advice. I do find it hard to part with things especially as I'd rather give it to someone that can use it than have it in landfill. It doesn't help that I live at the bottom of a town that is on a slope, the landfill is about 2 miles away and it is now a prominent mound in the distance that was completely flat 40 years ago. Though to be fair, I am also a hoarder@Natty58. We no longer get the charity bags in our part of the midlands either.I had another day of doing little as DD1 and GS1 were with me all day and didn't leave til after tea. It's back to normal for us tomorrow which will mean I will have a lot less time. It's been lovely to be able to follow the boards and feel like I've got to know a few people here. I think I will struggle to find time to post as much but I will try to at least read them all and keep up with what everyone is up to. Also I will keep a record and update it when I can.Today's count:1 physical items - a magnifying set of tweezers with a light that I had for Christmas from my Mom. Muddy_Walker I was just going to get him to look at doing it but the hut is plaster of paris and then paint so we'll have a look tomorrow at starting it but it should look like this when done (it definitely won't as none of us can paint 🤣)
Can't believe it's back to school/work tomorrow, the last 2 weeks went so fast. Countdown of 17 weeks till first GCSE exam for 2 of them. And I can make a proper start on the decluttering.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554
