_Dolly_Rocker_ said:Pulled out my big cupboard when I had a break from work. Only thing I've managed to declutter from there is a shelving unit which my friend is gonna use so win win!
Most of the stuff in there is gifts and a LOT of dog toys that I've picked up in the sales. I could get away with not buying another stuffed toy for my dogs probably for their whole entire lives - I am not even joking it is ridiculous! My problem is that I buy it, put it in a cupboard out the way and in my head it no longer exists so then I buy more.
Actively trying to stop spending on anything that is not essential now so that will not be happening anymore.OMG! That is so my own Tardis Mega Wardrobe of Doom! My daughter had to come and stay for a while which ended up being 5 years due to some serious medical conditions. I agreed to have a very large wardrobe put in one of the spare bedrooms so that she could put all her belongings into. Little did I know most of the items were brand new gifts of clothes, shoes, bags, accessories and dog toys, collars, coats, oh the list went on. Plus, I too had some items which I knew I hadn't used, so I decluttered sold all mine by the end of November last year. Then my daughter & I decided to begin having a look through the never ending doom wardrobe which was absolutely chocker blockThe rest is history, and I've now managed to cleared 3.5 mega doors worth of items, mostly sold, but a number of dolly trolly loads full for the CS also included. I've only got another 0.5 of behind a door to clear out before the rest of the sorted items are taken out from behind door 5, followed by the removal of the mega wardrobe - HOORAY! and a standard 3 door wardrobe will be coming in which will be used for all essential clothing and shoes for my daughter, which she actually wears and will last her a lifetimeJob Done!
We've agreed a total ban on any unnessary non-essential shopping / spending as we both have more than enough essential clothing and shoes & gadgets etc and babyface Daxie wants for absolutely nothingDecluttering before bed:HH bins, sprayed kitchen surfaces, put clean washing away, sterilise washed the washing machine, bleached the loo, and now decluttering a large mug of coffee before snuggling up in bed with babyface who is already snoring away under her fleecesWishing everyone a lovely peaceful evening & hugs to all those who would like one xxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 16/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1234.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing16 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday cont’d: DSis finished her laundry & even managed to dry one load outside 🙂 DH got back from his walk. So much for doing anything, I reverted back to laziness 😞 Dinner was fried pork steaks, mash (I added mustard to mine), carrots, broccoli & cauliflower. Wudupa + scrubbed kitchen sinks & even dismantled the plugs & gave them a good clean.
438 - 439 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
440 - 441 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Just noticed the time so I will wish you all a peaceful night 😴 & I will try again tomorrow 😉

Morning allUp very early this morning decluttering water, medication & a large mug of coffeeI need to clutter up on doggie essentials which I'm going to bulk buy as Mr. Sains has given me a 50% off along with extra super points on all the items I need using Shop&ScanI'm also going to clutter up on free recycled flatpack boxes whilst I'm there, which will probably be a full trolly load / car boot full, in the hope that this is the last time I will need to collect any as I think I should have enough to finish the Tradis Mega Wardrobe of Doom project, but I won't hold my breath!I had 2 decluttering eBy sales last night, so items packed and ready to be decluttered off to postie this morning.I've soaked & cleaned out the tea and coffee canisters this morning and had a full deep spray and wipe over of the kitchen surfaces, moving everything off the top, along with a cooker hob wipe over, not that it really needed it, and the usual fridge & freeer doors and seals clean whilst waiting for the kettle to boilDecluttering Plan for Today:I'm hoping to take a few more pics of decluttering items to draft & list on eBy at some point today / tonight but I need to have a bed rest day today, as much as possible, after a rather hectic and exhausting week of squeezing in dr.s and VET appointments, along with all the HH decluttering and cleaning chores. I've had the bodily chronic pain warning signs on and off through the night, which is why I'm up so very early this morning, so I either listen or pay for it next weekOff to declutter another large mug of coffee before having a shower, getting dressed, & feed & take babyface for a walk, if she can be bothered to get out of bed
Otherwise, I'll prepare the HH wheelie bin and put out for decluttering collection tomorrow.

Just tiptoeing in to report some minor decluttering after the big declutter on Sunday. Monday was 5 "things" - they can be anything that I come across in drawers or around the house and either go into the rubbish, recycling or the charity shop bag. Tuesday I dragged all the clothes out that I had hidden in the ottoman and I've started trying them on so 10 items decluttered. Nine went to the charity shop bag and one went to the pile that I'm saving for my sister.
We were out for a bit yesterday too so only another 5 things gone. There are still so many more..... Right, I need to go and try on some more clothes. I have 2 single wardrobes in my bedroom. Both have 2 drawers as well as hanging space and ideally I would like warm weather clothes in one and cold weather clothes in the other. It's a work in progress for sure.
I nearly forgot that I decluttered 8 inches off my hair yesterday 😁 I'm not including that in the total.
Take care all of you and get well soon wishes to vulpix's daughter in law.14 -
Went through my daughters room today and managed a load of makeup boxes. One small bin full.
Listed a few things to sell, but no buyers so far. Getting a bit frustrated at the lack of progress, but I started the year with lots so it was bound to slow down.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.
You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x14 -
Hi all, this week seems to be my week for tackling phone calls. I had a statement from my energy company and apparently I am using more this year than I did last year, ploy to increase my payments, but looking closer I realise it is based on an estimated reading. Why? I have a smart meter. So on to the phone to some poor man in India who got grilled about it. It transpires that they have the readings but they have not been communicated to the billing department! It is a communication problem was what he said. I pointed out that I have signed up for the off peak thing and have made an effort to shift things like the washing to those times so I have been overcharged and how can it take 5 months to organise for the the readings to get to the billing department? Surely it's all done automatically by computers? Apparently not. So I have given them a week to sort it out and let me know the correct information and meanwhile I am not going to increase my payments. Then I tackled a pension thing, took 15 attempts to even get on to the queue to be able to speak to someone, seems Martin did a pension thing on his show on Tuesday so they were very busy. Eventually spoke to a lovely lady who explained everything, set things in motion to move it forward and spoke slowly so I could write down what I need to do next 😁. Then I tackled a loyalty card thing. I have been collecting on it but not been able to redeem it as I hadn't been able to register it because I couldn't read the numbers on it, they had worn off. A few weeks ago I had a conversation with the young lady in the shop and she managed to read the numbers so she wrote them down for me and yesterday I finally got it registered so I can finally start redeeming it 😁. It's only for cups of coffee but I am ridiculously happy to have sorted it out 😂.
Between times after chauffeuring OH for the hospital appointment I got 1 LDFPA on the line, went to the local sport shop and bought a birthday present for a friend's son, will be wrapped today from stash, and posted a birthday card from stash for OH's dnephew. I used up lo for tea and then settled down to watch the football and do a bit of crochet. It was a stressful game even though we got a win and the crochet keeps my hands busy 😂.
I have a load of washing on the line, I am just so happy with this continual sunshine this week 😁 and I might try to do a bit in the garden if my back behaves today 😁.
Re OH's hospital appointment, a diagnosis of something rare has been made and we are not sure how this is going to pan out. I am still trying to get my head around it and am under orders not to tell anybody which doesn't help me as I do tend to talk things through with friends. No treatment required at the moment but they are going to monitor it. It may never require treatment but may lead to medication or/and an operation at some point in the future. I will say though that OH has some of the symptoms and has had for a couple of years and has probably only been diagnosed because of a random blood test and participation in a research trial. Hoping for the best but preparing for the worst is all I can do atm 😑 but I am a bit all over the place with it.
@Mrs SD those mice have certainly been busy 😁. Do you store the bird food in critter proof containers? It might help to keep them out 😁
@Siebrie I certainly wouldn't be happy with a 13 year old having lessons cancelled or just being left to do whatever they want on their computer. Would it be worth speaking to someone at the school? I couldn't have coped with that lack of structure at 13, hugs
@Vulpix last time I changed my phone contract it was relatively painless but I might have just been lucky. On the house move front are you still looking for a bungalow or do you just have itchy feet ?😂. I hope you are not looking to move too far, what will your knitters do without you 😁.
I hope the back is improving 😁. Hope the dil is improving as well, she must be very ill to be hospitalised, hugs
@retiredinfrance the tax office beggars belief don't they. It actually makes me want to swear at the incompetance. I actually thought about sending them a bill for my time trying to sort out their problem but I just cba with them atm 😂
@_Dolly_Rocker_ happy birthday, hope you had a great day😁
@BusyBee_9 welcome aboard and I look forward to following your journey 😁. I also am in need of a craft room if only to keep it corralled in one room 😂
@Yoshimi2025 jet washing is so addictive 😁. It's one of the few jobs I look forward to and even do ln's patio, path and front garden 😂 it is so satisfying.
Right time to do something. I have put on gardening/cleaning clothes as I have no intention of leaving the house today😁 though I might manage a coffee over the fence with ln if she is around as she is used to seeing me in the most disreputable clothes 😂
Hugs to everyone who would like one
