    Wow that blanket is amazing!
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Oh, @Gem-gem, your blanket is amazing!  The turtle is pretty cute too! 😉
Did you make the granny squares first and work the top and bottom onto them?

oh my word @Gem-gem your blanket is lovely.  It reminds me of the cellular blankets we used to have decades ago.
Thank you everyone for your kind words.
@alicef, yes I thought the same the other day when I got a cellular blanket out of the cupboard for my visiting guest to use.

Yes, I made the granny squares first, then joined them into a band. Next, I crocheted a navy row top and bottom - 300 across.
Then I changed to cream and did lots of rows up till it covered my pillows. Then lots and lots and lots of rows on the bottom. I used stitch markers at the ends, so that I didn't have to keep counting 300 stitches.
Finally, I edged it first with cream, then the lilac and navy.
It is a Toft pattern - Bloom Blanket - double to width but many more rows.

The tortoise is another Toft pattern, Walter the Tortoise. A birthday present from my brother.
