2025 Fashion On The Ration Challenge

Changed my mind after my last post and had a look for second hand pj bottoms online - mission successful and delivered today, so that's some coupons saved for next year.
@Diane1276 - I don't really sew, to be honest. I can do some repairs and sew on buttons but that's the extent of it.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

0 coupon spend. Picked up this 100% wool Jacket from House of Bruar for £25 in a second hand shop. As I had sold a top for £18 ( I get £9) I only had to pay £16. It will go nicely with my navy clothes.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

That was a good spot @Gem-gem: I love a warm-coloured coat.
I've lost track of where I have recorded what, but we are attending a wedding on Saturday and the last few weeks have been dominated by What To Wear as the bridal party are having navy, so I couldn't wear the dress I'd intended.
I'm pleased to say I've managed almost everything coupon-free though I bought a bra this week so must take that from my points. Quite ridiculously, I now own four pairs of shoes and three jackets that I didn't have a few weeks ago. Two of the pairs of shoes and all the jackets will be returned/sold on/donated as I won't wear them. I'm using a pink coat that's been worn once years ago and has been on my 'must sell that some time' list ever since. It's really nice but will only just do up so I shall arrive with it casually open and I doubt I'll need it again till we leave.
It's funny really: DH's sister is bringing some coats for DH as her husband had a sort-out, his cousin is returning some trainers that he left when we stayed at their house and I've offered to bring a coat for DD but she decided to pick it up when she's in town. That's one I bought in my twenties and which she was admiring in a photo. It's been waiting to be sold for umpteen years so I'm happy to pass it on.
DH has bought and wrapped Christmas presents for his uncle and aunt, sister, brother in law and two nieces so we don't have to post them,
I wonder if other families use family weddings as a sort of exchange? I expect they do.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

All caught up!
@Diane1276 what a gorgeous quilt! Definitely needs to be out and on a bed. @Nelliegrace, I LOVED knitting with a cotton reel. I was also a dab hand at making doll's house furniture out of matchboxes. Those ladybird books were very inventive.
Weather has turned here, I had to hoik out the hot water bottle, and I've put aside my current KAL, switching to socks, otherwise the OH won't have any in his C stocking.

@Cherryfudge how was the wedding?
@Gem-gem love the coat.
I totally agree re the weather, @alicef. The wind yesterday was bitterly cold, which leads me to ask you all a question: what is the most unsuitable outfit to wear to a football match in winter? Is it:
a) A thin white cotton multi-tiered skirt, over bare legs, with a hip length puffer jacket,
b) A jersey skirt with a split up the side, heels, stockings and a blazer, or
c) Short faux-leather shorts over black nylons, ankle high DM-style boots and a hip length fleecy bomber jacket?
Yes. I saw all three of the above yesterday at Stamford Bridge, plus a few mini skirts. I’m 90% certain that a) was a Chinese tourist, so clueless as to how cold it could be, while b) probably emerged from the staircase that leads to corporate hospitality and benefited from a heated seat all match.
C) is definitely the winner. I managed to snatch a surreptitious photo while we were queuing for the station but it keeps failing to load, so I’ll post and then try to edit my post and load it. Sadly, it’s not a back view which was even more revealing.

@PipneyJane - definitely not now, although I am conscious that from about 19 to 23 I schlepped around in light, flared cotton shortish skirts, opaque tights, court shoes and t shirts under a Aran cardigan - so back then unless it was actually January and snowing I probably would have been dressed just as stupidly.Fashion on the Ration 2025 - 1.5 coupons remaining

That was quite an unexpected twist, @Cherryfudge. Good fun for the participants though. Sounds like you had a lovely time.

The fleecy coat looks warm, if a bit draughty with the wide cuffs, @PipneyJane.
There was a cold wind on Saturday. I wore several warm layers and my vintage yellow duffle coat over a gilet, and a warm hat and gloves. Daisy Dog wore her fleece lined coat. There was a dog walker in shorts with bare legs, with no coat or hat. None of the children wear coats on their walk to the High School.6
