2025 Fashion On The Ration Challenge

The wedding I attended on Saturday was (thankfully!) indoors but some of the photos were outside. My son's partner, recovering from flu, had a cotton dress and spent as much time as possible wrapped in her coat. She wasn't the only one dressed for the occasion but not the weather - October weddings are hard to dress for! Thankfully the venue provided a basket of blankets to wrap around us.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

That wedding sounds brilliant fund, Cherryfudge.
I'm feeling a bit hacked off. I wanted good black trousers, and ordered two from M&S. One was an evening pair in velvet, the other was more versatile as it was more like a wool blend. I had to take both of them back. The velvet material was too thin, and wider legged than I really like (I have skinny legs and arms, so tend to go for narrower trousers.) The other pair were just too short in the leg (yep, legs are long too!)

That’s annoying @CapricornLass. Hopefully, you’ll find a suitable pair soon.CapricornLass said:That wedding sounds brilliant fund, Cherryfudge.

I’ve done a bit of window shopping and browsing over the last few weeks. Beyond the impossible to find double-breasted navy blue suit and some long-sleeved tops, there’s not a lot I want. The big thing is that I haven’t seen anything to inspire me. Most current fashions just don’t appeal to my taste or suit me. Also, I have to admit that in a perverse way, I am lucky. I have a wardrobe full of clothes from 15-20 years ago, which didn’t fit me for years but now do. I am enjoying “shopping my wardrobe” and wearing outfits that I haven’t worn in ages. (I wouldn’t recommend to anyone the lymphoma diet, but this is a positive side-effect.)

Good evening,
I have finished a blanket for my BIL's Christmas present. All the yarn except the red was given to me by my mother, when we were clearing out her property. I nearly have enough wool to make second one. Which I will use as a present for a friend's O birthday. It is a Toft Roaming Sampler Blanket but I have used Sugarcraft wool.
No coupons spent, though we have just booked a holiday for December and I will need to check my T-shirts. My swimming costume will also soon need replacing so I will check out the sales / discounts.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

@Gem-gem - What a wonderful way to use up yarn. I may give it go myself. Thank you.8

I do like that, @Gem-gem, and the frequent changes of colour and direction would keep you focussed! Did you have to sew up as you went along?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

There was no sewing up as you joined the yarn and crocheted straight onto the side.Cherryfudge said:I do like that, @Gem-gem, and the frequent changes of colour and direction would keep you focussed! Did you have to sew up as you went along?2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

I think I'd have had difficulty working out where I as up to! Really effective pattern and use of yarn, and one to bear in mind for those of us who have (ahem!) a few surplus balls of yarn.Gem-gem said:There was no sewing up as you joined the yarn and crocheted straight onto the side.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living.
