I've asked for money to be re-invested (saved) in a new Principality RS a couple of times in the past when an RS has matured (the last time being June 2024) and, on both occasions, the new RS retained the account number of the one that had matured.lucky77 said:Principality BSI have requested £200 to go to new 6 month issue 4 from my Xmas RS, am I right in thinking the account number stays the same so I can go ahead and set up standing order?1 -

Hopefully they aren't plugging loopholes!I have requested £200 to go to new 6 month issue 4 from my Xmas RS, am I right in thinking the account number stays the same so I can go ahead and set up standing order? Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I can not seem to see anything in the general Ts&Cs to contradict this. The listings on P1 of this thread have been updated accordingly.chris_the_bee said:Dudley
Bridlington1 please check your details as CS have confirmed payments are treated as being received the same day.
As a slight aside I couldn't help but notice they'd made a typo in their General Ts&Cs (there's a triple space in section 7.4).

As a new customer, I opened and funded the new account last week (account applied for on Tuesday 21st, FP sent Friday 24th when I got confirmation of my account details, credit date on my online account is 25th, which I got access to yesterday, Tuesday 28th). From what I'm reading on here, payments usually show on the next day and as this is funded by calendar month and the 1st is a Saturday, should I look to make a payment on Friday morning, hoping it will have a credit date of Saturday 1st, or would that be rejected?
Not sure if this has been covered somewhere or not so apologies if it's a duplicate.I think you have to balance the interest you'd gain against that which you may lose. If your transfer isn't credited till the next or even later working day, how many days has your money been in transit and therefore not earning for you ? If it could have been in your easy access/whatever account in that time you would have been earning on it. With Hanley, I think the best case with a transfer is you'll lose a days interest. I think doing a card deposit, maybe on the first working day in the month, is the best way. I'm sure there will be discussion on this in the first days of next month.0 -
I have Princi reg savers maturing tomorrow and need to provide maturity instructions. Providing on the last possible day after business hours has worked fine for me and OH so far avoiding rejections. I hope it's fixed before midnight so I can still provide instructions...1

Scottish Building Society
Finally received my log-in details dated 14th October. Feel a bit less smug now about using the freepost address (appreciate their entirely not linked) as they’ve sent me the details in a non-franked envelope and not paid the postage, so Royal Mail have booked the receipt date as 25th October then charged me £5 to find out the contents of the mystery mail.
Hopefully it’s a one-off rather than a batch problem.2
